Thomas Rongen, our latest guest, checks each and every one of the US soccer "builder" boxes. What an amazing journey and career for a man that has been at almost every level of soccer as a player AND a coach! As a player from a stellar career in Holland, to playing in the NASL, APSL, USISL, MISL and many other leagues to coaching at Youth Club level, to High School, to College, to Professional, to National Team programs and beyond. Truly a remarkable career that is ongoing and one of the most interesting guests and episodes that 3 Old Goalies has hosted. In addition to the above accolades, Coach Rongen was the first coach of American Samoa to get a goal and a win. Thomas Rongen's story will be part of a feature film released in Fall of 2023. “next goal wins”. Ruckas muiža un tai piegulošais parks līdz 2013. gadam bija neatklāta vieta pat pašiem Cēsu iedzīvotājiem. Patlaban tajā apmeklētākais objekts ir pagājušā gada pandēmijas apstākļos notikušās publiskās mākslas programmas KOPĀ ietvaros radītās šūpoles, šogad notikušo mākslinieku rezidenču ietvaros radītie darbi apskatāmi brīvdabas izstādē „Apslēptie dārgumi” Ruckas muižas parkā. Ruckas mākslas fonda organizēta ir arī ekspozīcija pilsētvidē „Mākslas kūre”. Cēsu centrā, taču dzelzceļa sliežu no pārējās pilsētas atgriezta, Ruckas muiža un tās parks labu laiku bija cēsniekiem slēgta teritorija – Pirmā pasaules kara laikā te bija lazarete, pēc Latvijas valsts nodibināšanas – Latvijas dzelzceļa 3. iecirknis, Pēc Otrā pasaules kara – tuberkulozes slimnīca. Pēc tās likvidācijas 2005. gadā ēka kādu laiku stāvēja tukša, bet kopš 2013. gada te ir mākslas rezidenču centrs. Kad norunāju tikšanos ar Ruckas patreizējo komandu, vēl nenojaušu, ka nokļūšu notikumu epicentrā – šai nedēļas nogalē Cēsīs notika sarunu festivāls “Lampa”, un Ruckas parkā ir četras no festivāla skatuvēm. Atvērtība un skaļums piestāv Ruckas zīmolam, kas uzzīmēts uz ceļa rādītājiem parkā, vismaz es tā aprisēs saskatu skaļruni. Rucka ir vieta Cēsu kartē, Rucka ir muiža un mākslas rezidenču centrs, taču ir arī mākslas fonds “Rucka”, kas producē ar rezidenci nesaistītus projektus. Ruckas muiža joprojām nav gatava, iesākumā tieku vesta uz verandu, kā sakoptāko un estētiskāko vietu muižas ēkā. Taču palūdzu atļauju palikt virtuvē, lai gan tieku brīdināta, ka te ik pa brīdim kāds ienāks. Jo acīmredzams, ka mani sarunbiedri – projektu vadītājs Oskars Goba, mākslas kuratore Līga Lindenbauma, un producente, Ruckas mākslas rezidenču centra vadītāja Ieva Ūbele – tieši šeit jūtas ērti. Pagājušajā ziemā, pandēmijas un slēgto izstāžu zāļu apstākļos, Latvijas laikmetīgās mākslas centrs publiskās mākslas programmā KOPĀ aicināja radošus cilvēkus mākslas objektus veidot ārtelpā. Projekts ir beidzies, un darbu tālākais liktenis Rīgā un vēl piecās Latvijas pilsētās ir dažāds. Rucka savējo izvēlējusies paturēt, un šopavasar pie šūpolēm izveidotajās kastēs no jauna tiek sastādītas puķītes. Ruckas mākslas rezidenču centru atbalsta Valsts kultūrkapitāla fonda mērķprogramma profesionālu nevaldības kultūras organizāciju atbalstam. Taču pārējo Ruckai jānopelna vai jāpiesaista ar projektiem. Ruckas mākslas rezidenču centram ir mājaslapa, kurā diezgan pārskatāmi var izlasīt, gan – kādi rezidenti šeit viesojušies, gan – kādi projekti bijuši kopš 2013. gada, un kādi vēl top.

Sarežģītās, līdz galam neizpētītās pagātnes marginālie stāsti pasaules un Latvijas kontekstā. Apslēptie varoņi, varones un varoņdarbi, vēstures artefakti un šodienas sajūtu refleksijas par šiem faktiem un liecībām. Šobrīd un jaunā gada pirmajos mēnešos Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā ir apskatāmas divas Latvijas Laikmetīgās mākslas centra izstādes "Neērtās pagātnes. Saistītās vēstures" un "Atceros, tātad esmu. Neuzrakstītie stāsti: mākslinieču arhīvi", šī gada pēdējā "Kultūras ūnijas laiks"  raidījumā sarunājāmies ar izstāžu kuratorēm, mākslas zinātniecēm Ievu Astahovsku un Andru Silapēteri.
