Makrons paziņo par nepieciešamību palielināt Francijas kodolgalviņu skaitu. Pakistāna veikusu jaunu gaisa triecienu sēriju pa Afganistānas teritoriju, afgāņi atbild ar uzbrukumiem Pakistānas robežposteņiem. Irāna rāda zobus pārspēkam Pēc tam, kad Izraēlas raķetes trāpījums 28. februārī bija laupījis dzīvību Irānas augtākajam vadonim Alī Hāmenejī, nomināli viņa funkcijas līdz jauna islāma republikas virsvadītāja iecelšanai uzņēmās Pagaidu vadības padome, kurā ietilpst Irānas prezidents Masuds Pezeškjāns, Irānas tiesu varas augstākais vadītājs Gulāmhuseins Mohsenī-Ežeī un Irānas konstitūcijas sargu padomes loceklis Alirezā Arafi. Tomēr pēdējās dienās izplatījies viedoklis, ka faktiski Irānas režīma priekšgalā jau kopš asiņainās masu protestu apspiešanas janvārī atrodas Augstākās nacionālās drošības padomes sekretārs, atvaļinātais Islāma revolūcijas sargu korpusa ģenerālis Alī Laridžāni. Tieši viņš pirmdienas vakarā, reaģējot uz Savienoto Valstu prezidenta Donalda Trampa izteikumiem par iespējamu sarunu atsākšanu, paziņoja, ka Irāna ar amerikāņiem nekādas sarunas nevedīs. Lai arī amerikāņu un izraēliešu raķetes turpina pārvērst drupu kaudzēs Irānas militāros un administratīvos objektus, un bez augstākā līdera Hāmenejī nogalināto sarakstā ir arī Islāma revolūcijas sargu korpusa komandieris, aizsardzības ministrs, bruņoto spēku ģenerālštāba priekšnieks un vēl kādi desmit augsta ranga militāristi, Teherāna, vismaz savās ārējās izpausmēs, ietur kareivīgu stāju. Irānas raķešu un aviācijas triecienu mērķi ir ne vien Izraēla un Savienoto Valstu militārie un diplomātiskie objekti reģionā, bet arī naftas un gāzes pārstrādes, transporta, arī biznesa un tūrisma infrastruktūra Apvienotajos Arābu emirātos, Saūda Arābijā, Bahreinā, Kuveitā, Katarā un Omānā, tāpat britu militārā bāze Kiprā. Aktivizējušies Irānas sabiedrotie: Libānā bāzētais grupējums „Hezbollah” sācis apšaudīt ar raķetēm Izraēlas ziemeļu rajonus, Irākas šiītu militārie grupējumi ar lidrobotiem uzbrukuši viņu valstī izvietotajām amerikāņu militārajām bāzēm, tiek ziņots, ka Jemenas hutiešu nemiernieki plānojot atsākt uzbrukumus kuģiem Adenas līcī un Sarkanajā jūrā. Pret „Hezbollah” Izraēla jau izvērsusi plaša mēroga karadarbību, kas ietver arī sauszemes operācijas. Irāna vērsusi gaisa triecienus arī pa kurdu autonomijas teritorijām Irākas ziemeļos, jo šeit bāzējas tās režīmam naidīgas kurdu nemiernieku grupas, kas apvienojušās Irānas Kurdistānas Politisko spēku koalīcijā. Kurdu minoritāte Irānas ziemeļos ir tā, kas pirmām kārtām varētu izvērst bruņotu cīņu pret Teherānas varu. Kā jau tika sagaidīts, jūras transporta pārtraukšana Hormuzā likusi pakāpties naftas un sašķidrinātās gāzes cenām globālajā tirgū, tomēr par kādu paniku šai ziņā runāt nenākas. Pirms karadarbības sākuma tirgos valdīja šo resursu pārprodukcija, un lielākie patērētāji kā ASV un Ķīna ir izveidojuši rezerves, kas šobrīd amortizē situāciju. Pakistānai savs „pārmācīšanas karš” Nu jau labu laiku spriedzi Pakistānas valdības un Afganistānā valdošā talibu režīma starpā rada teroristu grupas, kuras rod patvērumu Afganistānā, rīkojot uzbrukumus Pakistānas teritorijā. Lielākā no šīm grupām ir džihāda kaujinieku struktūra Pakistānas Talibans, kas gan nav organizatoriski vienota ar saviem vārdabrāļiem Kabulā, tomēr idejiski un vēsturiski gan. Jau pagājušā gada oktobrī Pakistāna veica gaisa triecienus pa teroristu objektiem Afganistānā, tai skaitā galvaspilsētā Kabulā, kam sekoja vairākas dienas ilgas sadursmes uz robežas. Tad viss beidzās ar trauslu pamieru, taču šī gada februārī Pakistāna piedzīvoja vairākus terora aktus gan Pakistānas Talibana, gan divu citu teroristu struktūru – Islāma valsts un beludžu nacionālistu organizācijas Beludžistānas Atbrīvošanas armija – izpildījumā. Uzbrukumos dzīvību zaudēja vairāk nekā piecdesmit cilvēku, gan militārpersonas, gan civiliedzīvotāji. 21. februārī Pakistāna īstenoja savus jau iepriekš izteiktos brīdinājumus un veica jaunu gaisa triecienu sēriju pa Afganistānas teritoriju. Oficiālā Islamabada apgalvoja, ka mērķēts tikai pa teroristu bāzēm, taču afgāņu puse un arī Apvienoto Nāciju misija vēstīja par upuriem arī starp mierīgajiem iedzīvotājiem, tai skaitā bērniem. Gluži tāpat kā iepriekšējo reizi sekoja afgāņu uzbrukumi Pakistānas robežposteņiem, pēc kam pakistāniešu gaisa un arī sauszemes spēku triecieni tika vērsti nu jau pret Afganistānas bruņoto spēku objektiem – munīcijas noliktavām, komandpunktiem, kazarmām – gan pierobežas provincēs, gan galvaspilsētā Kabulā un otrā lielākajā valsts pilsētā Kandahārā. Talibiem netrūkst kaujas spara un fanātisma, viņu spēki rūdījušies divdesmit gadus ilgā un galu galā panākumiem vaiņagotā cīņā pret amerikāņu un to sabiedroto okupācijas spēkiem. Šī pieredze ietver labas kaujas lidrobotu izmantošanas prasmes, ko jau nācies sajust uz savas ādas pierobežā dislocētajiem pakistāniešu spēkiem. Pakistānas pusē ir nospiedošs militāri tehniskais pārsvars. Marta sākumā pakistāniešu gaisa spēki vairākkārt bombardējuši nozīmīgo Bagramas aviobāzi, kuru Afganistānai savulaik uzbūvēja Padomju Savienība; neliela Afganistānas pierobežas teritorija nonākusi pakistāniešu spēku rokās. Kā tiek atzīmēts, konflikta attīstību veicina arī vispārējais starptautiskais fons, kad pasaules uzmanība koncentrēta Persijas līča rajonā un neviens īsti nav gatavs veltīt uzmanību šim karam Āzijas vidienē. Kodollietussargs „Made in France” Prezidenta Emanuela Makrona uzstāšanās šo pirmdien, 2. martā, Īllongas kodolzemūdeņu bāzē Bretaņā, Francijas rietumu piekrastē, tiek uzlūkota kā lūzuma punkts franču kodolpolitikā. Kopš aukstā kara baigām valsts atomieroču potenciāla palielināšana faktiski bijusi tabu tēma, bet pirmdien šis tabu tika lauzts. Kā paziņoja Makrons, šobrīd, kad Krievija izvērsusi klaju militāro agresiju, nozīmīgi augušas Ķīnas ģeopolitiskās ambīcijas, bet Savienoto Valstu aizsardzības prioritātes strauji mainījušās, Francijas kodolgalviņu skaita palielināšana ir nepieciešamība. Pie tam, kā uzsvēra Francijas vadītājs, franču kodolatturēšanas programma kļūst par visas Eiropas kopēju rūpi. Viņš uzskaitīja sabiedrotos, ar kuriem Francijai šai ziņā jau ir konkrēti sadarbības plāni: Vācija, Polija, Grieķija, Nīderlande, Beļģija, Dānija un Zviedrija. Nav grūti pamanīt, ka ģeogrāfiski šī valstu grupa koncentrējas Baltijas jūras un Ziemeļjūras baseinā. Visciešākā sadarbība plānota ar Vāciju, un tajā pašā 2. martā tika publiskota prezidenta Makrona un kanclera Merca kopīga deklarācija par franču–vācu kodolvadības darba grupas izveidi. Šo franču „kodollietussarga” izplešanu virs pārējo apvienotās Eiropas partneru galvām Francijas prezidents nodēvēja par „izvērsto atturēšanu”. Prezidents gan nepiemirsa norādīt, ka šī iniciatīva nekādi neesot uzlūkojama kā alternatīva NATO kodolatturēšanas spējām, bet gan kā to papildinājums. Kaut ekspertu vērtējuma Makrona uzstāšanās bija veiksmīga, labi līdzsvarojot Francijas nacionālo un Eiropas kopējo interešu motīvus, viņš, protams, saņēma paredzamu kritiku no pašmāju politiķiem, tai skaitā Nacionālās kustības līdera Žordāna Bardellas, kuru uzskata par visai reālu Makrona pēcteci prezidenta krēslā. Tas ir vēl viens faktors, kas liek prezidētam steigties, lai šī iniciatīva būt jau gana tālu attīstīta un nākamais Elizejas pils saimnieks nevarētu to viegli likvidēt. „Nākamais pusgadsimts būs kodolieroču laikmets, un Francija tajā spēlēs savu pilnvērtīgo lomu, turpinot vairot savus spēkus,” pirmdienas runas noslēgumā pauda Emanuels Makrons. Šobrīd Francijai ir apmēram trīssimt kodolgalviņas, ar kurām aprīkotas ballistiskās raķetes uz četrām „Triomphant” tipa atomzemūdenēm, kā arī spārnotās raķetes uz daudzfunkcionālajiem iznīcinātājiem „Rafale”.   Sagatavoja Eduards Liniņš.

Pirms astoņdesmit gadiem, 1946. gada 14. februārī, nodibināja vienu no unikālākajām mācību iestādēm - Minsteres Latviešu ģimnāziju. Lai arī šobrīd skola savu darbību beigusi, reiz tā bija vienīgā pilna laika mācību iestāde ārpus Latvijas, kurā varēja iegūt vidējās izglītības diplomu latviešu valodā.  Savulaik šī mācību iestāde apliecinājusi arī to, ka latviešu valoda, kultūra un augsta līmeņa izglītība var pastāvēt arī ārpus Latvijas robežām.  Minsteres ģimnāziju droši var saukt par vietu, kur saglabāts pamats vai kādam arī atrasts ceļš uz latvietību, un, protams, tas bija veids, kā apgūt valodu un kultūru. Skola ir atstājusi nospiedumu diasporas vēsturē, arī latviskās identitātes uzturēšanā, un to apliecina arī absolventu vārdi, kas ir zināmi plašai Latvijas sabiedrībai un nav jāpaskaidro, tie ir Egils Levits, kurš vēlāk bija arī pedagogs, absolventu vidū ir arī Krišjānis Kariņš, Bruno Rubess, arī nesen mūžībā izsauktais Austris Grasis, un, protams, visi šodienas sarunas dalībnieki. Kopā ar bijušajiem skolēniem raidījumā Globālais latvietis 21.gadsimts atminamies skolas nospiedumu diasporas latviešu mūžos. Ar muti Kijivā, ar darbiem…? Vakar, 24. fbruārī, apritot ceturtajai gadskārtai kopš Krievijas agresijas kara eskalācijas Ukrainā, Kijivā ieradās vairāki Eiropas Savienības un tās dalībvalstu līderi. Klāt bija Eiropas Komisijas prezidente Urzula fon der Leiena, Eiropadomes prezidents Antoniu Košta, Somijas prezidents Aleksandrs Stubs, Norvēģijas, Zviedrijas, Dānijas, Horvātijas, Igaunijas, Latvijas, Islandes premjerministri, Lietuvas aizsardzības ministrs, arī NATO ģenerālsekretārs Marks Rite. Tas bija nepārprotams solidaritātes žests, kam jāapliecina savienības apņēmība turpināt atbalstīt Ukrainu visos iespējamos veidos. Līdz šim ir darīts daudz: savienības palīdzības kopapjoms tuvojas divsimt miljardu robežai. Tai skaitā, runājot par šobrīd īpaši aktuālo enerģētikas jautājumu, pārvietotas veselas elektrostacijas un piegādāti apmēram vienpadsmit tūkstoši ģeneratoru. Vairumam Eiropas valstu netrūkst vēlmes un gatavības, taču nupat palīdzības vezuma ceļā kā kupls cinis jau atkal aptupies Ungārijas premjers Viktors Orbans. Vispirms pirmdien notikušajā Eiropas Savienības ārlietu dienestu vadītāju sanāksmē Briselē Ungārijas ārlietu ministrs Peters Sijarto paziņoja, ka Ungārija neatbalstīs kārtējo Krievijai noteikto sankciju paketi, savukārt vakar, tieši pilna mēroga iebrukuma gadadienā, izpaudās pats Orbans, paziņojot, ka bloķēs arī jau nolemto Eiropas Savienības 90 miljardu atbalsta piešķīrumu Ukrainai. Par šo atbalstu agrāk tika panākta vienošanās, kas paredz, ka „negribošo koalīcija” – Ungārija, Slovākija un Čehija – tiek atbrīvotas no saistībām aizdevuma sakarā. Taču nu Budapeštas pusdiktators izdomājis, ka neatbalstīšot vispār nevienu Ukrainai labvēlīgu lēmumu, jo Kijiva, raugi, esot pārtraukusi krievu jēlnaftas piegādes Ungārijai un Slovākijai pa cauruļvadu „Draudzība”. Ukrainas valdība apgalvo, ka piegādes apstājušās, jo cauruļvads bojāts krievu lidrobotu triecienā. Duetā ar savu kaimiņu velk arī Slovākijas premjers Roberts Fico, kura dzimtenei arī Kremļa „melno zeltu” vajagot kā ēst. Viņš piedraudējis, ka ja piegādes neatsāksies, Slovākija pārtrauks elektroenerģijas piegādi Ukrainai. Bet kamēr Eiropas līderi neskopojas nīgriem izteicieniem par „Draudzības” trubai piezīsties kāro Viktoru, Vašingtonā Ukrainas jautājums šķiet nobīdīts otrajā plānā aiz iespējamās Irānas militārās pārmācīšanas, Epstīna failu blāķiem un, protams, prezidenta ķīviņa ar augstāko tiesu par tarifiem. Tiesa, pirms dažām dienām, kad bez nozīmīgiem rezultātiem bija noslēgušās trīspusējās ASV, Krievijas un Ukrainas sarunas Ženēvā, Baltā nama saimnieks pagarināja Krievijai noteikto sankciju termiņu. Baisi gausais karš Apritot ceturtajai gadskārtai kopš Krievijas pilna mēroga iebrukuma Ukrainā, karadarbība tiek raksturota kā novājināšanas karš ar lieliem dzīvā spēka zaudējumiem. Par to, cik dzīvību ziedots Kremļa diktatora iegribu un iedomu vārdā, ir visai aptuvens priekšstats, bet dažādi avoti lēš, ka Ukrainas pusē kritušo skaits varētu pārsniegt 60000, savukārt Krievijas pusē šīs aplēses svārstās no apmēram 180000 līdz 350000 un vairāk tūkstošiem. Kopējie zaudējumi, saprotams, ir vairākas reizes lielāki, un, kā domā NATO analītiķi, pērnajā gadā vien Krievijai tie varētu būt apmēram 400000 kritušo, ievainoto un bez vēsts pazudušo. Kā zināms, šī cena maksāta par pieticīgiem ieguvumiem – pērngad agresoram izdevies papildus iegūt mazāk par procentu no Ukrainas teritorijas, un tagad tā okupēta ir apmēram piektā daļa no kaimiņvalsts. Tomēr daudzi eksperti spriež, ka Krievijai esot vēl diezgan resursu, lai šādi turpinātu vismaz kādu gadu. Izskan gan arī viedokļi, ka rekrutēšanas apjomi atpaliek no dzīvā spēka zaudējumiem un tuvojas brīdis, kad var nākties izšķirties par piespiedu mobilizāciju. Pie tam frontē pēdējā mēneša laikā Krievijas spēki piedzīvojuši nopietnas komunikācijas problēmas. Īlona Maska kompānija beidzot atslēgusi no „Starlink” tīkla nelegāli iegūtos termināļus, kurus krievi izmantoja okupētajā Ukrainas teritorijā, savukārt Maskavas pati bloķējusi „Telegram” tīklu, un daudzas krievu vienības tādējādi palikušas bez ierastajiem saziņas līdzekļiem. Daļēji ar to tiek skaidroti Ukrainas spēku nesenie panākumi, atgūstot ap 200 kvadrātkilometru teritorijas Zaporižjes un Dņipro apgabalos. Vēl pirms tam decembrī krievu vienības izdevās izspiest no Harkivas apgabala Kupjanskas, kuru Krievijas armijas vadība jau bija pasludinājusi par pilnībā ieņemtu. No vienas puses, tie ir nenozīmīgi taktiski ieguvumi, kas, cita starpā, nav mazinājuši Krievijas spēku spiedienu Doņeckas apgabalā, no otras, tas ir apliecinājums, ka Ukrainas armija saglabā uzbrukuma potenciālu. Tiek gan atzīmēts, ka arī Ukraina saskaras ar nopietnām militārā personāla problēmām – apmēram divsimt tūkstoši karavīru, nespējot izturēt frontes apstākļus, esot patvaļīgi pametuši savas vienības. Vēl viens ļoti nepatīkams pārsteigums Krievijai bija sestdien notikušais Ukrainas raķešu trieciens militāro raķešu rūpnīcai Votkisnkā, Udmurtijas autonomajā republikā, aptuveni 1400 kilometru attālumā no Ukrainas robežas. Šajā rūpnīcā top mazā rādiusa raķetes „Iskander”, kas tiek izmantotas triecieniem pa Ukrainas teritoriju, un starpkontinentālās raķetes „Topoļ-M”.  Kā apgalvo Kijiva, trieciens veikts ar ukraiņu ražojuma spārnoto raķeti „Flamingo”. Ukrainas ekonomika turas Krievijas agresijas eskalācija 2022. gadā saprotami traumēja arī Ukrainas ekonomiku. Vairākkārt palielinājās Krievijas okupētās teritorijas apmēri, agresorvalsts uzsāka mērķtiecīgu infrastruktūras graušanu, miljoniem iedzīvotāju pameta valsti. Tiek lēsts, ka pagājušajos kara gados agresors pret Ukrainas teritoriju raidījis apmēram 13000 raķešu un vairāk nekā 140000 lidrobotu. Lielu daļu no tiem notriekusi ukraiņu pretgaisa aizsardzība, taču daļa savu mērķi sasnieguši. Tomēr Ukrainas iekšzemes kopprodukts, kas 2022. gadā saruka par gandrīz trešdaļu, nākamajos gados piedzīvoja zināmu atlabšanu, 2023. gadā pieaugot par vairāk nekā pieciem procentiem, 2024. gadā – par vairāk nekā trīs ar pusi, 2025. gadā – par aptuveni diviem procentiem. Kāpums prognozēts arī šogad, tiesa, šais prognozēs nebija ņemti vērā Krievijas nežēlīgi mērķtiecīgie triecieni enerģētikas infrastruktūrai. Resursa „Project Syndicate” autori, ekonomisti Tatjana Derjugina, Anastasija Fedika un Jurijs Gorodņičenko piesauc trīs galvenos faktorus, kas ļāvuši Ukrainas ekonomikai līdz šim saglabāt kondīciju, kas šobrīd pārspēj cerības pilna mēroga kara sākumā. Pirmkārt, tās ir ukraiņu militārās spējas, saglabājot kontroli pār savu gaisa telpu un lielā mērā neitralizējot Krievijas Melnās jūras floti. Attiecīgi Krievijai nav izdevies pilnībā apturēt Ukrainas eksporta plūsmu pa jūras ceļiem. Otrs faktors ir apjomīgā starptautiskā palīdzība, kas aizvadītajos četros gados bijusi vidēji ap 40 miljardiem dolāru gadā. Tā palīdzējusi kompensēt budžeta deficītu, kas ir aptuveni 25% no iekšzemes kopprodukta, segt lielu daļu izdevumu ieroču un energoresursu importam. Savukārt grandiozais militāro izdevumu kāpums – no sešiem miljardiem dolāru 2021. gadā līdz septiņdesmit miljardiem pērngad – ir jaudīgs ekonomikas stimuls. Pēc amerikāņu domnīcas „Jamestown” sniegtajiem datiem lidrobotu ražošanas apjomi Ukrainā pagājušogad sasnieguši četrus miljonus vienību, bet šogad varētu sasniegt septiņus miljonus. Kā trešais faktors tiek minēta Ukrainas Nacionālās bankas sekmīgā darbība, nodrošinot likviditāti un novēršot banku sistēmas sabrukumu. Un, kā atzīmē trīs minētie „Project Syndicate” autori, salīdzinoši stabilais ekonomikas stāvoklis nebūtu iespējams bez ukraiņu uzņēmēju un visas sabiedrības gatavības pielāgoties un paciest grūtības, un radoši meklēt risinājumus. Protams, Krievijas agresijas karš rada Ukrainai milzu zaudējumus un arī milzīgas problēmas, no kurām akūtākās šobrīd ir teju trīs ceturtdaļu elektroģenerējošo jaudu iznīcināšana un jūtams kvalificēta darbaspēka trūkums. Het onderzoek naar de moord op Kim en Ken Heyrman in 1994 komt door een aanvullend DNA-spoor in een stroomversnelling. De zaak kan gelinkt worden aan de moord op Tania Van Kerkhoven in 1993. Wordt dit dé grote doorbraak in beide cold cases? “Waarschijnlijk niet”, zijn journalist Mark Eeckhaut en forensisch adviseur Karolien Van Dijck het eens. “Zolang het DNA niet overeenkomt met materiaal uit een politiedatabank, kennen we de identiteit van de dader niet. Niemand weet wat er met de daders van 30 jaar geleden gebeurd is”. “DNA-onderzoek is wel degelijk nuttig om verbanden te leggen, maar vormt maar één puzzelstukje van het geheel”, duidt Van Dijck. “Politiediensten en gerecht zijn absoluut nodig om zaken af te handelen. Die samenwerking is ontzettend belangrijk.” Voor die samenwerking maakt ook Minister van Justitie Annelies Verlinden ruimte. Waarom is dat nodig? En zijn binnenkort alle cold cases op te lossen? In Vlaanderen vinden meer dan 21000 jongeren met een masterdiploma geen werk. Dat cijfer is sinds 2022 met meer dan de helft gestegen, want toen ging het nog om 13000 jonge alumni. Kunnen we spreken van een heuse jobcrisis, of is dit maar een momentopname? ­ “De paradox is dat bedrijven ervaring bij starters verwachten, maar jonge werkzoekenden geen of zeer weinig ervaring hebben”, zijn journalisten Tine Reynaers en Stijn Decock het eens. “Alhoewel er zeker nog meer grote uitdagingen zijn.” ­ Die uitdagingen zijn niet de minste. Sana-čan – Japānas politikas uzlēkusī saule Japānas politika nav domājama bez Liberāldemokrātiskās partijas. Kopš šī politiskā spēka nodibināšanas 1955. gadā ir bijuši vien divusi trīs gadus ilgi periodi, kad tas nav bijis pie varas. Tā tiek raksturota kā t.s. „jumta” jeb „lietussarga” partija – tāda, kas apvieno dažādu nokrāsu novirzienus, taču kopumā ir ar labēji centrisku, konservatīvu un nacionālistisku ievirzi. Tomēr pēdējie gadi japāņu liberāldemokrātiem nav bijuši viegli. Partijas reitingus deldējušas sociālekonomiskās problēmas – dzīves dārdzība un neiepriecinošā demogrāfiskā situācija, tāpat vairāki skandāli. Jaunākās paaudzes vēlētāju acīs tā ieguvusi „onkuļu partijas” reputāciju – pārāk tradicionāla, pārāk remdena, uz pagātnes lauriem dusoša. Kopš 2024. gada parlamenta vēlēšanām liberāldemokrāti un viņu tradicionālie koalīcijas partneri – centriskā partija „Kōmeitō” – veidoja mazākuma valdību, līdz pagājušā gada oktobrī koalīcija pajuka, premjers Išiba atkāpās un Liberāldemokrātiskās partijas stūri pārņēma tās jaunā līdere Sanaje Takaiči, kļūstot par pirmo premjerministri sievieti Japānas vēsturē. Viņas personā liberāldemokrāti ieguva jaunu seju un elpu. No vienas puses, premjerministre ir uzskatos konservatīva – viendzimuma laulību pretiniece un patriotiskas audzināšanas piekritēja; no otras – savā uzvedībā un manierēs vienkārša, atvērta un demokrātiska. Sevišķi pamanāma ir viņas prasme komunicēt sociālajos tīklos un uzrunāt jauniešu auditoriju, kuras vidū viņa tiek dēvēta par Sana-čan – pievārds ‘čan' japāņu valodā apzīmē tuvas draudzības attiecības ar nosaukto personu. Par koalīcijas partneriem Takaiči izvēlējās nevis līdzšinējos centristus, bet gan krietni labējāko un populistiskāko Japānas Inovāciju partiju. Vēl viens zīmīgs moments ir premjeres prasme atrast kopīgu valodu ar Savienoto Valstu līderi Donaldu Trampu. 13. janvārī Takaiči izsludināja ārkārtas parlamenta vēlēšanas. Šis solis ar mērķi konvertēt personīgos reitingus konkrētā partijas politiskajā ietekmē tika vērtēts kā riskants, taču attaisnojās ar uzviju. Svētdien, 8. februārī, notikušajās vēlēšanās liberāldemokrāti svinēja grandiozu uzvaru, iegūstot vēsturiski lielāko pārstāvniecību parlamentā ar 316 vietām no 465. Koalīcijas partneri Inovāciju partija gan pāris vietas zaudējusi, taču tas nozīmīgi nemaina viņu frakcijas lielumu. Savukārt partijas „Kōmeitō” un lielākā opozīcijas spēka Konstitucionāli demokrātiskās partijas izveidotais bloks Centriski reformistiskā alianse piedzīvojis smagu sagrāvi un vairāk nekā divu trešdaļu mandātu zaudējumu. Jaunā situācija Japānas parlamenta apakšpalātā dod premjerministrei Takaiči lielākas iespējas mainīt Japānas konstitūciju, ko viņa iezīmējusi kā politisku mērķi. Tai skaitā, iespējams, varētu tikt mazināts pamatlikuma izteiktais akcents uz militāras darbības ierobežošanu ārpus valsts robežām. Pēc nākšanas pie varas Japānas līdere paziņoja, ka gadījumā, ja Ķīnas tautas republika mēģinātu ar militāru spēku sagrābt Taivānu, ir iespējama Japānas militāra iejaukšanās. Tas izraisījis krasu attiecību pasliktināšanos starp Pekinu un Tokio ar ekonomiskām sankcijām no Ķīnas puses. „Drednautu diplomātija” un piemirstās cilvēktiesības 6. februārī Omānas galvaspilsēta Maskata kļuva par sarunu vietu starp Savienoto Valstu un Irānas pārstāvjiem, izmēģinot diplomātiju, pirms tiek liktas lietā raķetes un bumbas. Tas ir pirmais šāds abu valstu dialoga precedents kopš pagājušā gada jūnija, kad Izraēla un Savienotās Valstis vērsa gaisa triecienus pret Irānu, tai skaitā tās kodolobjektiem. Arī tagad no Savienoto Valstu puses tā ir „drednautu diplomātija” – janvāra nogalē Arābijas jūrā ieradās amerikāņu jūras spēku kaujas grupa ar aviācijas bāzes kuģi „Ābrahams Linkolns” priekšgalā. Uz „Linkolna” klāja ir modernākās daudzfunkcionālās kaujas lidmašīnas, iznīcinātāji un elektroniskās karadarbības un izlūkošanas lidaparāti. Kaujas grupas kuģi aprīkoti arī ar spārnotajām raķetēm „Tomahawk” un pretraķešu aizsardzības sistēmām. Kā svētdien savā publikācijā izteicās kanāla „Al Jazeera” Dohas institūta politoloģijas asistējošais profesors Muhanads Selūns, svarīgākais rādītājs neesot tas, kas tiek teikts par sarunām, bet gan tie, kas sēdušies pie sarunu galda. No Savienoto Valstu puses tas ir vispārzināmais sarunvedēju pāris Stīvens Vitkofs un Džareds Kušners, kā arī ASV Centrālās pavēlniecības komandieris admirālis Breds Kūpers. Šis vīrs ar uzplečiem esot dzīvs atgādinājums Irānas pusei, ka nepiekāpībai var būt smagas un ātras sekas. Tomēr draudīgais tonis pagaidām nav darījis Teherānu piekāpīgāku, ciktāl runa ir par sarunu priekšmetu kā tādu. Irāna uzstāj, ka ir gatava runāt par savu kodolprogrammu, piekrītot pārtraukt urāna bagātināšanu apmaiņā pret sankciju atcelšanu, bet nekādā ziņā ne par ko citu – ne raķešu ieroču attīstības programmu, ne atbalstu teroristiskajām organizācijām „Hamas” un „Hezbollah” un hutiešu nemierniekiem Jemenā, ne, protams, par cilvēktiesību situāciju Irānas iekšienē. Plašākajā sarunu tvērumā ir īpaši ieinteresēta Izraēla, un tiek spriests, ka premjerministra Netanjahu šodienas visai pēkšņā vizīte Vašingtonā varētu būt saistīta ar vēlmi ietekmēt amerikāņu pozīciju. Katrā ziņā Irānas ārlietu ministrs Abāss Arāgči jau brīdinājis Vašingtonu nepaļauties Izraēlas premjera destruktīvajiem centieniem. Pie tam Irānas iekšpolitiskā situācija šajā diplomātiskajā izspēlē acīmredzami atstumta otrajā plānā, un pasaule turpina noskatīties, kā režīms, noslīcinājis asinīs nesenos protestus, turpina piegriezt skrūves. No Teherānas pienāk ziņas, ka arestēti vairāki prominenti reformistiskas ievirzes politiķi, tāpat ārsti, kas snieguši palīdzību ievainotiem janvāra protestu dalībniekiem. Cilvēktiesību aktīvisti pauž bažas, ka cietumos notiek arestēto protestu dalībnieku slepkavošana. Pekina demonstrē totalitārisma tvērienu Honkongā Pirmdien, 9. februārī, tiesa Honkongā pasludināja spriedumu mediju magnāta Laja Čī-jina, plašāk pazīstama kā Džimija Lai, lietā. Septiņdesmit astoņus gadus vecajam apsūdzētajam piespriesti divdesmit gadi cietumā. Tagad slēgtā laikraksta „Apple Daily” dibinātājs tika apcietināts 2020. gada augustā un pēc apmēram piecus gadus ilgušā procesa atzīts par vainīgu sazvērestībā ar ārzemju spēkiem un musinošu tekstu publicēšanā. Kā paziņoja tiesa, apsūdzētā vainu pastiprina tas, ka viņš esot bijis ārvalstu inspirētas sazvērestības galvenais plānotājs un virzītājspēks. Ar publikācijām savā izdevumā viņš esot aģitējis par ārvalstu sankciju ieviešanu pret Ķīnu. Savu biznesa karjeru sācis apģērbu ražošanas un mazumtirdzniecības jomā, Lai vēlāk pievērsās mediju jomai, izveidojot lielāko Honkongas mediju kompāniju „Next Digital” un jau pieminēto laikrakstu „Apple Daily”. Konfrontācijā ar Ķīnas totalitāro režīmu viņu noveda 2019. – 2020. gada Honkongas protesti, kad Džimijs Lai nostājās demokrātisko spēku pusē, gan personiski kritizēdams Pekinas režīma rīcību, gan uzturēdams attiecīgu ievirzi savos preses izdevumos, gan sniegdams demokrātiskajiem spēkiem finansiālu atbalstu. Ar šo cietumsodu Ķīnas vara nepārprotami demonstrē, ka ikvienam, kas stāsies ceļā tās plāniem pēc iespējas drīz iedabūt Honkongu totalitārās valsts tiesiskajā un politiskajā rāmī, nav ko cerēt uz žēlastību. Kā norādījis Lielbritānijā dzīvojošais notiesātā dēls Sebastjens Lai, ievērojot viņa tēva sirds stāvokli un to, ka pērngad vien viņš zaudējis desmit kilogramus svara, faktiski šis uzlūkojams kā nāves spriedums. Džimijs Lai kopš 1994. gada ir arī Lielbritānijas pavalstnieks, un britu ārlietu ministre Iveta Kūpere paziņojusi, ka valdība darīs visu iespējamo, lai panāktu viņa atbrīvošanu.
