Kopš augusta apskatei atvērts Cēsu viduslaiku pils ziemeļu tornis. Tagad tornī ierīkota ekspozīcija – lapidārijs, kurā izstādītas no senajām pils daļām saglabājušās liecības – kolonnu un velvju fragmenti, logu aplodas un citas akmens būvdetaļas. Izstaigājam ziemeļu torni un uzklausām stāstus par tā restaurācijas vēsturi Cēsu muzeja Viduslaiku pils nodaļas vadītāja Gundara Kalniņa vadībā. Ziemeļu tornis Cēsu viduslaiku pilī ir viena no jaunākajām celtnēm, tā izbūve sākta tālajā 1498. Gadā, mestra Voltera fon Pletenberga piektajā valdīšanas gadā. 1577. gada aplenkuma laikā tornis smagi cieta moskovītu karaspēka veiktajā apšaudē. 17. gadsimta nogalē pils saimnieki to pilnībā pameta likteņa varā. Ziemeļu tornis, kā pēc brīža jokos mans ceļvedis, Cēsu muzeja Viduslaiku pils nodaļas vadītājs Gundars Kalniņš, ir cietis ne tikai karos vai no pamestības, bet arī neveiksmīgas restaurācijas – pagājušā gadsimta 30., 60. un 80. gados veikti plaši torņa atjaunošanas darbi, par kuriem Gundars Kalniņš ir arī stāstījis savā Facebook kontā, un aprakstījis “Cēsu pils rakstu” gaidāmajā sējumā. Ja jāapraksta sajūtas, kādas pārņem, ienākot Cēsu pils ziemeļu tornī, tā ir gaisā sajūtamā mūra un darvotu dēļu smarža. Torņa telpa ir apaļa, mēs uzreiz nokļūstam šaujamlūkās izvietotās ekspozīcijas centrā. Gaisma laužas pa durvīm, no augšstāviem, un līdzīgi tas ir arhitektūras vēsturnieka Ilmāra Dirveika radītajos zīmējumos, kas eksponēti gaismas kastēs. Paši zīmējumi ir uz melna fona, bet gaismas iezīmētās līnijas rāda kāda kādreiz ir izskatījusies Cēsu viduslaiku pils. Gundars Kalniņš ir ziemeļu torņa ekspozīcijas kurators. Ziemeļu tornim atjaunots tā vēsturiskais plānojums, pēc atjaunošanas darbiem, būvprojekta autors ir pieredzējušais restaurācijas arhitekts Artūrs Lapiņš. Tornim atkal ir trīs stāvi. Un katra stāva ekspozīcija koncentrējas uz noteikta veida būvdetaļām. Pirmajā stāvā tie ir pārsegumi un velves. Atrasto būvdetaļu krāsojums, rotājumi apliecina, ka Cēsu pils viduslaikos ir bijusi visai grezna ēka. Otrajā stāvā var uzzināt vairāk par pils logiem. Trešais stāvs atstāts minējumiem, tajā ir būvdetaļas, kuru funkcijas atminējums pieļauj vairākas versijas. Taču pirms doties uz lapidāriju, Gundars Kalniņš aizved uz nelielu koka šķūnīti pils pagalmā. Šķūnī ir plaukti, pilni ar atradumos atrastiem akmeņiem. Gundars Kalniņš ceļ ārā vienu,  liek uz galda, lai es aplūkoju vērīgāk. Izstāstīt, kurš tad no Cēsu viduslaiku pils torņiem ir ziemeļu tornis, patiesībā ir ļoti vienkārši. Otrpus pils mūriem, Cēsu pils parkā ir iekārtota estrāde, tur notiekošie uzvedumi kā skatuves scenogrāfiju izmanto pilskalna nogāzē uzbūvētās izteiksmīgās kāpnes. Nu, lūk, tad Ziemeļu tornis ir tas, kas labi redzams no estrādes puses, un mani vienmēr mulsinājis, kāpēc torņa trūkstošā daļa aizpildīta ar dēļiem. Tas ir skaists, bet mazliet neparasts risinājums. Savās publikācijās sociālajos medijos Gundars Kalniņš slavē šo risinājumu, kas saglabāts arī tagad. Protams, nebraucu malā. Izkāpu ārā, paņemu telefonu un viņš man nāk virsū, un taisa savu slaveno riesta deju un savu skaņu. Viņš ir uzvilcies, jo vienreiz gadā iet uz zaļumballi. Viņam ir vienalga, ka tu esi ar divtonnīgu mašīnu. Tāpēc martā uzmanīgi brauciet pa Latvijas Valsts mežu ceļiem, viņiem tur ir zaļumballe." Reinis Pižiks atzīst, ka fotogrāfi ir iecienījuši gan saullēktu, gan maģisko mirkli pirms saulrieta, kā arī, protams, jāņem vērā, ka dzīvnieki negribēs skaisto kadru mednieku pielaist sevi ļoti tuvu. Tāpēc jāizvēlas atbilstoša fototehnika. "Zvēram Robins Huds varbūt varēja pieiet ļoti tuvu klāt vai Čaks Noriss, bet mūsdienu cilvēks tuvu nevar pieiet, tad tehnika nāk talkā. Fotogrāfijās ir ļoti skaisti, ja, piemēram, kādam stirnu āzim redzi skropstu. Vai briedis, kad bauro, ka tu redzi garaiņus, kas ceļas no elpas. Silts organisms zaļumballē, viņš viņš bauro un auksts rīts septembrī. Lai bilde būtu kvalitatīva, tehnikai ir ļoti labai jābūt." Kameras tiešām ir ļoti dārgas, lai šādus kvalitatīvus attēlus uzņemtu. Rosinājums ir, ka no 2027. gada varētu būt vairākas amatu kategorijas, uz kurām vairs neattiektos izdienas pensiju sistēma., uzsverot, ka izmaiņas neskars visus tos pensiju saņēmējus, kas jau tagad sistēmā, vai tie būtu ugunsdzēsēji vai prokurora, vai tiesneši. Saeimā sākas diskusijas par to, ka vajadzētu ierobežot jaunievēlētajās pašvaldībās domes priekšsēdētāja vietnieku skaitu. Šonedēļ arī kļuvis zināms, ka Olaines jaunievēlētajā domē, iespējams, vēl viens deputāts ir melojis par savu izglītību. Iepriekš izskanēja, ka Andris Vurčs, kas ir vicemērs tagad, iespējams, ir deputāti, deklarācijā norādījis nepatiesus datus par savu izglītību. Šonedēļ ziņa par vēl vienu deputātu.  Ukrainas parlaments pieņēma un vēlāk arī prezidents Zelenskis parakstīja likumu, kas pēc daudz domām vājina Ukrainas pretkorupcijas dienestus un abus šos galvenos pretkorupcijas birojus pakļaus ģenerālprokuroram. Kopš pilna mēroga kara pirmo reizi Ukrainas ielās iziet arī cilvēki protestēt pret šo lēmumu. Zelenskis ir paziņojis, ka būs jauns likums un un pretkorupcijas iestādēm neatkarība tiks garantēta.

Kopš pilna mēroga kara pirmo reizi Ukrainas ielās iziet arī cilvēki protestēt pret šo lēmumu. Zelenskis ir paziņojis, ka būs jauns likums un un pretkorupcijas iestādēm neatkarība tiks garantēta.

Karostas ūdenstornī Liepājā nedēļas nogalē norisināsies laikmetīgās kamermūzikas koncertu cikls “Ūdenstornī san”. Cikla mākslinieciskais vadītājs, komponists Ernests Vilsons izveidojis koncertu programmu, kas izcels gan jauno latviešu komponistu oriģināldarbus, gan šīs unikālās vēsturiskās celtnes akustiskās nianses. „Patiesībā to ir grūti salīdzināt. Iespējams, līdzīga sajūta varētu būt baznīcā. Šī būtu tāda ne-baznīcas vieta ar līdzīgu akustiku. Bet vizuāli, arhitektoniski tā ir pavisam citāda struktūra,” stāsta Vilsons, īpaši izceļot arī ūdenstorņa vēsturi. „Karostas ūdenstornis būvēts 20. gadsimta pašā sākumā – laikposmā no 1903. līdz 1905. gadam – militārās pilsētas Karostas vajadzībām un lielāko daļu pagājušā gadsimta kalpojis kā ūdenstornis. (..) Tas beidza funkcionēt kā ūdenstornis tikai 1989. gadā. Kopš tā laika tas ir tādā nenoteiktā stāvoklī, to uztur "Liepājas ūdens". Viņi ir atbildīgi un rūpējas, lai tur viss būtu kārtībā, lai šī vide reizēm būtu pieejama arī apmeklētājiem, un ir brīži, kad tas ir apmeklēts. Pats esmu bijis ūdenstornī arī agrāk – gan kā viesis, gan pirms astoņiem gadiem piedaloties mākslinieku Karostas ūdenstorņa projektā. Toreiz man bija iespēja veidot un sarakstīt šim ūdenstornim skaņdarbu četrām balsīm. Tā bija unikāla iespēja – rakstīt darbu tajā pašā telpā, kurā tas vēlāk koncertā tika atskaņots. Akustika ir ļoti spēcīga ūdenstorņa daļa. Protams, baltās sienas un milzu apjoms ir pirmais, ko mēs, ūdenstornī ieejot, uzreiz pamanām. Bet arī tas, kā tas skan! Kāda ir atbalss, cik plaši skaņa izskan un cik ilgi tā kavējas!” Ernests Vilsons stāsta, ka koncertos piedalīsies ar Liepāju saistīti mūziķi: perkusionisti Marta Kauliņa-Pelnēna, Reinis Tomiņš, Matīss Skarēvičs, Berči stīgu kvartets. Sarunā vairāk arī par Karostas koncertu programmām un pirmatskaņojumiem, gan mūzikas autoriem, kuri arī cieši saistīti ar Liepāju, par telpu, kurā skanēs mūzika, klausītāju interesi un meistarklasēm.

Militāro konfliktu Tuvajos Austrumos pārrunājam kopā ar ārpolitikas pētnieci Sintiju Broku un laikraksta "Diena" komentētāju Andi Sedlenieku, kā arī sazināmies ar Tuvo Austrumu politikas un kultūras pētnieku, zinātnes doktoru Imantu Frederiku Ozolu, kurš šobrīd papildina zināšanas Haifas universitātē. * Līdz nesenam laikam attiecību stāvoklis starp Izraēlu un Irānu tika raksturots kā konflikts, bieži lietojot arī angļu valodas terminu proxy war, kas dažādās valodās tiek tulkots kā „netiešais karš”, „starpnieku karš”, „pilnvarojuma karš, „ēnu karš” u. tml. – tātad, bruņots konflikts, kurā kāda valsts iesaistās netieši, sniedzot atbalstu kādai citai valstij vai bruņotai struktūrai. Irānai, kura pēc tapšanas par islāma teokrātiju pagājušā gadsimta astoņdesmitajos gados pasludināja Izraēlas iznīcināšanu par savas oficiālās ārpolitiskās doktrīnas sastāvdaļu, līdz šim izkaroja šādu „ēnu karu” pret ebreju valsti ar teroristisko organizāciju Hamas un Hezbollah rokām. Kopš 13. jūnija militārā konfrontācija starp Izraēlu un Irānu arvien biežāk tiek apzīmēta kā Irānas–Izraēlas karš. Zinot abu valstu ģeogrāfisko izvietojumu, ir pašsaprotami, ka šis karš tiek izcīnīts pamatā ar gaisa spēku līdzekļiem no vienas, un raķešu spēku līdzekļiem no otras puses. Ar līdzīgiem triecieniem abas valstis apmainījās arī pagājušā gada aprīlī un oktobrī, taču toreiz runa bija par vienreizējām akcijām. Tagad viss ir citādi. Izraēla nekad nav slēpusi, ka darīs visu nepieciešamo, lai nepieļautu, ka Irāna apgādājas ar kodolieročiem. Teherāna allaž uzstājusi, ka urāna bagātināšana tās teritorijā notiekot tikai un vienīgi enerģētikas attīstības nolūkos. Līdz šim šiem apgalvojumiem nav iebildis arī oficiālais starptautiskais uzraugs – Starptautiskā Atomenerģijas aģentūra. Taču tieši dienu pirms Izraēlas gaisa spēku triecieniem Irānas kadolprogrammas objektiem aģentūra paziņoja par noteikto ierobežojumu pārkāpšanu. Tajā pašā dienā beidzās termiņš, kuru Teherānai bija izziņojis Baltā nama saimnieks Donalds Tramps. 13. jūnija agrā rītā vairāk nekā divi simti Izraēlas Gaisa spēku iznīcinātāju deva triecienus apmēram simts mērķiem Irānā. Izraēlas slepenais dienests Mossad, darbojoties valsts iekšienē, izsita no ierindas lielāko daļu Irānas pretgaisa aizsardzības iekārtu. Pirmais trieciens bija vērsts pret mērķiem galvaspilsētā Teherānā un tās tuvumā, kā arī pret urāna bagātināšanas iekārtām Natanzas pilsētā. Ar precīza tēmējuma ieročiem tika mērķēts arī pa vairāku augsta ranga militārpersonu, militarizētās organizācijas Islāma revolūcijas sargu korpuss vadītāju un kodolprogrammas darbinieku dzīvesvietām. Turpinām kolēģu aizsākto sarunu par Kaļiņingradu, runājot par drošības situāciju un apgabalu kopumā. Nedaudz to aplūkojam Ukrainā notiekošā kara kontekstā. Aktualitātes analizē politologs Veiko Spolītis un ārpolitikas pētnieks Rinalds Gulbis. Par Kaļiņingradas apgabalu saruna ar politologu, politiķi no Ukrainas Ihoru Ždanovu, viņš ir fonda „Atklātā politika” projekta vadītājs, bijis arī Ukrainas Jaunatnes un sporta lietu ministrs. Donalds Bargais Protesti Losandželosā uzliesmoja 6. jūnijā pēc tam, kad ASV Imigrācijas un muitas policijas darbinieki veica reidus pilsētas tirdzniecības vietās, arestējot apmēram simtu tur strādājošo, kuri, iespējams, uzturas valstī nelegāli. Protesti sākās pie aizturēšanas centra ēkas, kur policija aizturēja 44 cilvēkus. Cita starpā tika arestēts Starptautiskās apkalpošanas sfēras darbinieku asociācijas Kalifornijas nodaļas prezidents Deivids Uerta, kurš it kā kavējis automašīnas pārvietošanos. Tiek ziņots, ka viņš guvis salīdzinoši vieglu traumu; pirmdien viņš tika atbrīvots pret drošības naudu. Jau tajā pašā dienā notika sadursmes starp protestētājiem un policiju, kur protestētāji esot metuši dažādus priekšmetus, kamēr policija izmantojusi asaru gāzi, piparu aerosolu, žilbinošās granātas, bet vakarpusē likumsargiem bija atļauts lietot arī neletālu munīciju. Brīvdienās protesti vērsās plašumā, pie kam notika vairāki mēģinājumi bloķēt ielas, atsevišķu automašīnu aizdedzināšana, daži vandālisma un veikalu aplaupīšanas gadījumi. Protestētāji apmētāja policistus un policijas auto ar dažādiem priekšmetiem, daži policisti, protestētāji un arī protestus atspoguļojošie žurnālisti guva vieglus ievainojumus. Tomēr daudzviet protesti notika mierīgi, un situācija pilsētā, pēc visa spriežot, nebija tāda, lai ar to netiktu galā vietējie policijas spēki. Taču jau 7. jūnijā Savienoto Valstu prezidents Donalds Tramps izdeva rīkojumu nosūtīt uz Losandželosu 2100 Nacionālās gvardes karavīru. Pie tam viņš to darīja, nesaskaņojot ar Kalifornijas pavalsts gubernatoru, Demokrātu partijas pārstāvi Gevinu Ņūsomu. Kaut prezidentam ir tādas pilnvaras, šādi Savienoto Valstu vadītājs pēdējoreiz rīkojies 1965. gadā. Tāpat tika ziņots, ka gatavībā nosūtīšanai uz pilsētu esot septiņi simti jūras kājnieku. Jau drīz pēc tam, kad šīs ziņas parādījās atklātībā, prezidenta rīcības adekvātums tika apšaubīts. Pirmdien, 9. jūnijā, gubernators Ņūsoms iesniedza prasību tiesā, pieprasot atzīt Trampa pavēli par Nacionālās gvardes izmantošanu par nelikumīgu; attiecīgā sēde paredzēta 12. jūnijā. Tikām gan prezidents Tramps, gan citi Baltā nama pārstāvji izvērsa agresīvu retoriku, gānot un vainojot protestu uzliesmošanā gubernatoru, kā arī Losandželosas mēri Karenu Basu. Viens no spilgtākajiem prezidenta citātiem bija: „Ja viņi spļaus, mēs sitīsim.” Proti, viņš vainoja demonstrantus, ka tie spļaujot uz likumsargiem, un attiecīgi piedraudēja, ka protestētāji tikšot sisti tā, kā nekad agrāk. Nu jau nacionālo gvardu skaits Losandželosā pārsniedzis četrus simtus, un vakar, kā ziņo, tur ieradušies arī solītie jūras kājnieki. Militārpersonas gan lielākoties bez kāda pielietojuma uzturoties federālo institūciju ēkās. Par spīti aizliegumiem ļaudis pirmdien un otrdien turpināja pulcēties protestos, kuri gan ātri tika izklīdināti. Daudzi uzlūko Trampa administrācijas rīcību Losandželosā kā paraugu varas spiediena politikai.   Divu vīru kaismīga šķiršanās Par to, ka divām tik spēcīgām un ambiciozām personām kā Donalds Tramps un Īlons Masks nenāksies viegli sastrādāties, runāja jau teju kopš pasaules bagātākais cilvēks kļuva par pusoficiālu Baltā nama darbinieku. Šie signāli kļuva intensīvāki pagājušā mēneša laikā, Maskam paziņojot, ka viņš distancēsies no administrācijas un turpmāk mazāk ziedos līdzekļus politikas atbalstam. Taču otrdien ārup izlauzās acīmredzot ilgi slāpēta nepatika, kad multimiljardieris izteica atklātu un skarbu kritiku par šobrīd Kongresā virzīto Trampa administrācijas budžeta projektu, nodēvēdams to par „pretīgu draņķību”. Tā viņš pievienojās daudzo prezidenta kritizētāju pulkam, kuri pamatoti norāda, ka projekts paredz nodokļu atlaides bagātajiem, tajā pašā laikā liedzot daudziem maznodrošinātajiem līdzšinējo valsts apmaksāto pieeju medicīnas pakalpojumiem. Nākamajās dienās eskalācija tikai vērsās plašumā, iesaistoties ļaudīm gan no prezidenta, gan finanšu magnāta puses. Tramps piedraudēja, ka varētu atņemt Maska uzņēmumiem valdības kontraktus un subsīdijas. Sevišķi sāpīgi tas būtu kosmosa izpētes programmai „Space X”, kas lielā mērā balstās valdības finansējumā. Bet Masks nepalika atbildi parādā, norādot, ka bez viņa nodrošinātās tehnikas valdībai būs problemātiski, piemēram, nodrošināt astronautu nogādāšanu uz Starptautisko kosmosa staciju un atpakaļ. Draudi pārtraukt šo tehnisko atbalstu gan tika drīz atsaukti, taču turpinājumā multimiljardieris paziņoja, ka prezidents esot minēts 2019. gadā cietumā mirušā uzņēmēja un bērnu seksuālā izmantotāja Džefrija Epsteina lietas materiālos. Tā bija abu dižvīru konflikta kulminācija, kas tika sasniegta 5. jūnijā. Piektdien, 6. jūnijā, Masks paziņoja, ka varētu nodibināt jaunu politisku partiju, kas kļūtu par trešo spēku starp demokrātiem un republikāņiem. Tikām viņa konflikts ar Baltā nama saimnieku sāka iespaidot Maska finanšu stāvokli, kompānijas „Tesla” akcijām noslīdot par 15% procentiem, respektīvi, zaudējot apmēram 150 miljardus savas vērtības. Kopš pagājušās nedēļas nogales procesā gan iestājies zināms atslābums. Pirmais, kurš no eskalācijas pārgāja uz remdenāku toni, bija prezidents, izsakoties, ka neņemot ļaunā privāti vērstos uzbrukumus, tikai nožēlojot, ka  Īlons nav praties ātrāk atbrīvoties no administratīvā darba sloga. Šīs nedēļas sākumā preses virsraksti jau vēsta par konflikta pierimšanu, lai gan no agrākās divu diževīru draudzības maz kas palicis pāri.
