From BITCHES BREW to "Feels So Good" and beyond, author Matthew Reed Baker delves into the funky, smooth, and transcendent records that resulted from the merging of jazz with R&B, pop, rock, and much much more in the 1970s. Miles Davis, Weather Report, Chuck Mangione, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, and Steely Dan are just some of the acts that are discussed in 1970s Jazz Fusion, a welcome new installment from 33 1/3's spin-off series on musical genres. Bookseller and writer Justin Remer hosts this discussion of both the book and the music. Hosted and produced by Justin Remer. Recorded remotely via Zencastr. Opening music: "Optimism (Instrumental)" by Duck the Piano Wire Closing music: "Rule of 3s (Solemnity Child)" by Elastic No-No Band

Check out the Cloud Cap Marathon here! Thanks to Running Warehouse for supporting The Trailhead. Check out their great selection of everything from shoes to sun hoodies, with free two-day shipping. This week on The Trailhead, we're joined by one of the most thoughtful voices in endurance sports writing: Alex Hutchinson. You might know him from his Outside column, Sweat Science, or his bestselling book Endure. But today, we're talking about his newest work—The Explorer's Gene—and what it reveals about why we push into the unknown, whether we're climbing literal mountains or trying the weirdest thing on a menu. In this wide-ranging and unexpectedly hilarious conversation, we dig into: The "explore vs. exploit" dilemma, and how it shows up in our running, routines, and lives Why inefficiency is essential to joy and creativity How kids (and ultrarunners) are wired for uncertainty The effort paradox: why hard things feel more meaningful What AI, IKEA furniture, and running have in common Alex also shares how becoming a parent and moving beyond his “Endurance Science Guy” brand shaped his perspective on curiosity, comfort zones, and career detours. Whether you're stuck in a rut, planning your next big adventure, or wondering if it's time to zag instead of zig, this one's for you.
We are Family - Reunited and it Feels so good!https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%20106%3A47&version=CJBPsalm 106:47Save us, Adonai our G_d! Gather us from among the nations, so that we can thank your holy name and glory in praising you.Genesis 45:1 At last Yosef could no longer control his feelings in front of his attendants and cried, "Get everybody away from me!" So no one else was with him when Yosef revealed to his brothers who he was. 2 He wept aloud, and the Egyptians heard, and Pharaoh's household heard. Genesis 45:3 Yosef said to his brothers, "I am Yosef! Is it true that my father is still alive?" His brothers couldn't answer him, they were so dumbfounded at seeing him. 4 Yosef said to his brothers, "Please! Come closer." And they came closer. He said, "I am Yosef, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 5 But don't be sad that you sold me into slavery here or angry at yourselves, because it was G_d who sent me ahead of you to preserve life. Genesis 45:6 The famine has been over the land for the last two years, and for yet another five years there will be neither plowing nor harvest. 7 G_d sent me ahead of you to ensure that you will have descendants on earth and to save your lives in a great deliverance. 8 So it was not you who sent me here, but G_d; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his household and ruler over the whole land of Egypt. Genesis 45:9 Hurry, go up to my father, and tell him, `Here is what your son Yosef says: "G_d has made me lord of all Egypt! Come down to me, don't delay! 10 You will live in the land of Goshen and be near me — you, your children, your grandchildren, flocks, herds, everything you own. 11 I will provide for you there, so that you won't become poverty-stricken, you, your household and all that you have; because five years of famine are yet to come."' Genesis 45:12 Here! Your own eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Binyamin, that it is my own mouth speaking to you. 13 Tell my father how honored I am in Egypt and everything you have seen, and quickly bring my father down here!" 14 Then he embraced his brother Binyamin and wept, and Binyamin wept on his neck, 15 and he kissed all his brothers and wept on them. After that, his brothers talked with him.Genesis 45:16 The report of this reached Pharaoh's house: "Yosef's brothers have come"; and Pharaoh and his servants were pleased. 17 Pharaoh said to Yosef, "Tell your brothers, `Here is what you are to do. Load up your animals, go to the land of Kena`an, 18 take your father and your families, and come back to me. I will give you good property in Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.Genesis 45:19 "`Moreover — and this is an order — do this: take wagons from the land of Egypt to carry your little ones and your wives, and bring your father, and come. 20 Don't worry about your stuff, because everything good in the land of Egypt is yours.'"Genesis 45:21 The sons of Isra'el acted accordingly; and Yosef gave them wagons, as Pharaoh had ordered, and gave them provisions for their journey. 22 To each of them he gave a set of new clothes; but to Binyamin he gave seven-and-a-half pounds of silver and five sets of new clothes. 23 Likewise, to his father he sent ten donkeys loaded with the finest goods Egypt produced, as well as ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread and food for his father to eat on the return journey. 24 Thus he sent his brothers on their way, and they left; he said to them, "Don't quarrel among yourselves while you're traveling!"Genesis 45:25 So they went up out of Egypt, entered the land of Kena`an and came to Ya`akov their father. 26 They told him, "Yosef is still alive! He is ruler over the whole land of Egypt!" He was stunned at the news; he couldn't believe them. 27 So they reported to him everything Yosef had said to them; but it was only when he saw the wagons which Yosef had sent to carry him that the spirit of Ya`akov their father began to revive. 28 Isra'el said, "Enough! My son Yosef is still alive! I must go and see him before I die."

Mmm… there's something so intoxicating about that hot flush of shame, isn't there? The way your stomach tightens, your skin prickles, your pulse races at the thought of being exposed. In this episode of Slut Next Door, I'm diving deep into the filthy, thrilling world of public humiliation—a kink that blends submission, embarrassment, and arousal into something completely irresistible.
Morning Mantra: "How your life feels is more important than how it looks."You know it when it feels right. It just fits with who you really are.Trying to appear a certain way to impress others, or because you think you need to, will NEVER feel right. Even if you manage for it to look perfect, if you don't feel loved, honored, valued, and heard, you will not be able to sustain it. Because you have to FEEL it to believe it.So stop being okay with things you are not really okay with. Stop associating being a good person with how much you are willing to suffer in silence. You can be a kind person and still say "this doesn't feel right."#BeAbleToFeelGoodAboutYourLife #BeHappy #BeHorsey #BeHippie #HorseHippie #MorningMantra #inspirationalQuotes #MorningMotivation #Equestrian #HorseLover #QuotesToInspire #HorseHippieBrand #HorseHippieBoutique

What's up, degenerates?! This week on The Old Dog Pack Show, the gang dives into some of the more. Dr. Rees, the Governor, and Jackson are back at it, proving once again that a self-improvement podcast for the middle-aged man is doomed to devolve into 30 minutes of grab-ass. Here's what we got on tap for ya this week: “Do You Even Party, Bro?” Are parties even fun, or are we all just showing up for the finger foods and praying the host has decent chairs? For some of us, they're the greatest, but for some, they are about as exciting as eating turkey. Things We Can Learn from Luigi Mangione. Looks like the search for United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson's murderer is over. What can we learn from accused killer Luigi Mangione? First, ditch the murder weapon. That includes the silencer. Second, ditch the fake IDs you used around the time you committed murder. Third, ditch the manifesto that explains your motive for committing murder. Finally, if your most prominent feature is your wild ass eyebrows, get some tweezers and pluck those fuckers. The Furry Thing... Yeah, We Went There. Listen, we didn't wake up today planning to talk about furries, but here we are. In "New News," our heroes give us the 101 on what's up with these people dressing up like animals and living their best lives. Thanks to 23 and Me, a north Texas woman finally has some clarity as to why she hates her family's guts. So grab a drink, crank up the volume, and join us for another episode of midlife mundanity and questionable wisdom. Hey, Bud, do us a solid, will ya? Head over to Apple Podcasts or Spotify, slap us with a 5-star rating, and maybe even toss in a quick review. Look, I'm not sayin' we've earned it yet, but c'mon—we're workin' on it! In a video of protesters at NYU, a young woman admitted that she didn't really know why she was protesting. Kris Mayes, the Arizona General Attorney, won by a couple thousands votes in a state that does not verify ballots, but claims the election was totally legitimate. Yet, she is now taking President Trump to court in Arizona. Why? And, the mayor of San Jose, California, who is a proponent of defunding the police, was doing an interview on the street when he was attacked. Guess what he did? You might ask that mayor why he called 911 and why he said to defund the police. This is the state of American politics thanks to the Left and the Mockingbird Media. What does God's Word say? Proverbs 9:10 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.Ephesians 2:1-10Made Alive in Christ2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.Episode 1,562 Links:VIDEO: A REAL interview we had at NYUGeorgia's Election Board to Fulton County: Your 2022 Election Results Were False!
