The Diesel Performance Podcast is the official podcast for the Ultimate Callout Challenge - a performance diesel event like no other. By invitation only, a couple dozen trucks and drivers will compete this April in Indianapolis - they'll drag, pull, and dyno against each other for the ultimate bragging rights. Last year's event resulted in several trucks running over 2,000 horsepower. This is our first profile of a UCC participant - Nick Priegnitz of Calibrated Power Solutions. The DPP plans to interview all the participants, so we thought we'd start with someone close to home. CPS will drive a 2011 Cummins dually with a displacement of 10.4L - increased from an 8.9 ISL. Twin 14mm fuel pumps and 500% over injectors from Exergy. DT's UCC truck will also sport a 10-foot bed instead of the eight-foot factory configuration.
This podcast is for anyone who makes a living with a diesel powertrain in agriculture or any industry where heavy duty diesel engines bear the burden of getting the job done. Hosts Nick Priegnitz and Paul Wilson describe tractor tuning from Calibrated Power Solutions. Tractor tuning increases horsepower within the powertrain specifications. These tractor calibrations make it possible to run the tractor in a higher gear with lower RPM's, saving time and most importantly, fuel. 815-568-7920 http://calibratedpower.com/tractors/tuning.html
Diesel Performance Podcast host Nick Priegnitz welcomes Chris Ehmke of Calibrated Power Solutions and Duramaxtuner.com to talk about drop-in turbochargers. What's the difference between drop-in turbochargers when compared to those that require a pedestal, oil lines, and various other components? As Nick and Chris discuss, the manufacturers had a good reason to use the size of charger they did and it relates to driveability, ease of installation, and common sense. But everyone has to experience the blast-off from a big charger, right?
It's the battle between the small diesel engines - GMC Canyon 2.8L versus Jeep 3.0L EcoDiesel. Calibrated Power Solutions founder-owner Nick Priegnitz along with CPS diesel tech DJ Wlasiuk and vice president of operations and sale strategies Jamie Kerley discuss the performance differences between the platforms.
We join up with Paul Wilson and Danny Voss from the Diesel Performance Podcast to debate a Cummins and Duramax build! The Diesel Performance Podcast digs deep into the least popular, but important topic - diesel engine emissions equipment. Danny and Paul welcome expert Mike Kennedy of Calibrated Power Solutions. Mike has nearly two decades of experience working on diesel engine emissions equipment. He's currently the director of Calibrated Power's calibrations department. Anyone with a diesel will appreciate this episode because it breaks down all the emission acronyms (EGR, DOC, SCR, DPF) into everyday language while providing insight into the importance of each step in the soot and NOX cleaning process in a diesel. The guys also address the how deleting emissions equipment may not really pay off the way some expect. It's a fascinating conversation that every diesel owner probably needs to listen to.
No doubt about it - the LML is the Duramax of choice for many. The ride quality cannot be matched by any other Duramax. But how does the LML compare when it comes to performance? What does the owner have to do to hit 500 rwhp and beyond? DPP hosts Paul Wilson and Danny Voss talk to LML expert and owner-founder of Calibrated Power Solutions and Duramaxtuner.COM, Nick Priegnitz.
Paul and Danny host two of the country's best diesel performance experts to talk about the latest in twin and triple turbo set-ups. Nick Priegnitz, owner-founder of Calibrated Power Solutions, home of Duramaxtuner.COM, stops by along with Jason Wehrli, owner-founder of Wehrli Custom Fab. The crew goes into detail about what's involved in twin and triple turbo systems and what considerations a truck owner needs to consider before adopting the set-up for their own truck. The show also goes into various scenarios with Nick and Jason making recommendations. We think ALL of our shows are great - but we're really proud of this one - we hope you agree. Don't forget to leave a comment and rating on iTunes!
Paul and Danny talk about a topic they know a lot about - EFILive, the tuning software used to develop calibrations for the Duramax, Cummins and a variety of gas engines. Both guys spend all day, every day, talking about EFILive because that's the underlying tool used by Calibrated Power Solutions. In this episode, they explore in-depth, what the software does and does not do. They also explain the difference between EFILive and a box tuner and the older method for tuning - an ECM chip.
This is a head-on discussion about deleting emissions equipment on 2010-2015 Cummins Turbo Diesel trucks and WHY you may not want to. Paul Wilson and Danny Voss visit the podcast sponsor and owner-founder of Calibrated Power Solutions, Nick Priegnitz. CPS sells CME (2010-2015) Cummins Turbo Diesel calibrations that hit 500 rwhp with emissions control equipment intact. Along with the engine tuning, CPS offers transmission tuning. The podcast challenges industry beliefs about the need for deleting emissions equipment.
