Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Texas A&M's trip to South Carolina in a game that may be seen at 7:30 Eastern on ABC. Topics include: Texas A&M's Marcel Reed should be the quarterback going forward after a monster second half vs. LSU. Between Reed, Le'Veon Moss and others, the Aggies can really run the ball well. South Carolina's pass rush, with Kyle Kennard, Dylan Stewart and others, is elite. But Texas A&M has also been excellent in pass protection. The Gamecock offense has struggled, but quarterback LaNorris Sellers and Rocket Sanders have also done some good things at times of the season. South Carolina allows sacks on a whopping 15.3% of passing plays (that's an SEC worst). While the Aggies sack the quarterback just 6.4% of the time, they've got pass-rushing talents like Nick Scourton and Shemar Turner who can cause problems. The Gamecocks force turnovers an SEC-best 3.4% of the time, but the Aggies have the league's second-lowest turnover rate on offense (1.1%). Ole Miss has the edge on paper, but coach Shane Beamer has pulled upsets in these spots before thanks to big plays, especially on special teams. On today's show, we continue our SEC Spring Preview series talking all things South Carolina Gamecocks with Andrew Lyon from Locked On Gamecocks. With Spencer Rattler moving on to the NFL, the question is if QB LaNorris Sellers can elevate the offense this season with his play, after getting a taste of playing time last year in a couple of games. The offensive line will have to play better, and they said goodbye to stud WRs Xavier Legette and Juice Wells, but they do add a proven running back in Rocket Sanders coming over from Arkansas. Shane Beamer has to get the train back on the tracks. On defense, they add a stud freshman pass rusher in Dylan Stewart, and have some proven guys in the secondary like Nick Emmanwori, Jalon Kilgore and DQ Smith, along with LB Debo Williams. They'll need to mix in some new pieces on the defensive line, but this is a big year for this defense to show significant improvement over last season. The schedule is brutal for Shane Beamer's group once again, but he will need to improve over last year's losing record, and get to at least 6-6 and go bowling to build back some trust from the fanbase. Beamer continues to recruit at a high level, but at the end of the day, wins are what matter most, and the Gamecocks will need to look competitive to keep the Beamer Era rolling. On today's show, we recap a very busy National Signing Day and the aftermath with our Recruiting Insider Brian Smith. Who were the biggest Winners and Losers this week? We start discussing what happened this week with the Florida Gators as Billy Napier lost some big names in his signing class, but salvaged the day by locking in QB DJ Lagway and D-lineman LJ McCray. We also get Brian's thoughts on Georgia and Alabama once again locking in top two ranked classes. And Texas & Oklahoma both did work in recruiting Top 10 classes as they both prepare for the move to the SEC. In addition, Brian talks on Hugh Freeze's Top 10 class at Auburn as Cam Coleman and Amaris Williams should play early and often. LSU's class was solid but missing some wow factor, Tennessee could see early action from WR Braylon Staley and DE Jordan Ross. Brian also gives his thoughts on Mike Elko and Jeff Lebby bringing in their first recruiting classes at A&M and Mississippi State. Shane Beamer needed a big haul at South Carolina, and Dylan Stewart and Josiah Thompson were good gets. Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss bring in a nice class, but are impressing more in the portal. Mizzou's Williams Nwaneri should be a Day 1 starter. Sam Pittman's class at Arkansas was justok, as was Kentucky's as QB Cutter Boley will look to push Brock Vandagriff. We are not sure if Larry Johnson is a big Kool Moe Dee fan, but regardless, he must be rhetorically asking all of his doubters "How ya like me now?" On Sunday, Ohio State landed 5-star defensive tackle Justin Scott from Chicago. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Scott is ranked as the No. 4 defensive lineman and the No. 21 overall recruit in the country in the 2024 class, per the 247Sports Composite. It was a great get for Johnson and the Buckeyes. (And to be clear, several staff members assisted in the recruitment.) But the good news likely will not stop there for the Buckeyes in terms of defensive line recruiting. 5-star edge rusher Dylan Stewart was Crystal Balled to OSU by Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn on Sunday. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Stewart is the No. 3 edge and No. 13 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the Composite. And we of course cannot forget that 5-star defensive lineman Eddrick Houston has been Crystal Balled to the Buckeyes by Wiltfong and Bill Kurelic for a few weeks. If a recruit has a Fong Bomb and a Dean Bomb, you know what time it is. The Buckeyes still have the No. 2 class in the country for 2024, but now they have the highest average player rating in the country at 93.7. Georgia has the No. 1 class in terms of overall points, but the Bulldogs' average player rating is a bit lower than OSU's at 93.2.
