Dan and Garrett are joined by Ryan Silberstein and Andy Elijah of Cinedelphia to discuss Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant, the latest entry in the franchise that he birthed through his chest nearly 40 years ago. At age 79, Scott once again reminds us that he knows what we want years before we do - and what we want is dueling-flautist-Fassbenders. The gang delves into just how well this Prometheus/Alien mash-up works, and then discusses their Summer Movie Wager rankings. Join I Like To Movie Movie at the Milburn Stone Theater in MD on July 15th for a special screening of I Am A Knife With Legs. Tickets are available now, only $5, and include free popcorn! We'll also be playing some classic Movie Movie Live games and giving out prizes. facebook | twitter | tumblr | iTunes

Happy Bone Tomaholidays from all of us here at I Like To Movie Movie! Garrett and Dan ring in the new year with special guest Andy Elijah of Cinedelphia to talk about their Top 10 favorite Movie Movies of 2016. While the year may have been lacking in great studio movies, it was chock full of independent releases that prove that great films are still being made, the system is simply changing. The boys try to parse out some themes from the year's movies, like facing grief and communication, as well as talk about some of their least favorite releases of the year.  Happy New Year folks, we'll see you next year! Dan and Garrett are joined by Jill Malcolm and Ryan Silbertsein, editors of Cinedelphia, to discuss the latest in one of the longest running monster movie franchises - Godzilla. Shin Godzilla returns to the aesthetic and more overtly political nature of the original 1954 movie, while expanding on the mythology of the creature and utilizing modern effects to achieve a larger scale version of the man-in-a-rubber-suit action that kept this series alive for decades. More about the response to environmental disaster than to nuclear disaster, Shin Godzilla is somewhat of an absurd comedy about the failings of bureaucracy in the face of forces that can't controlled or understood. We didn't know a Kaiju version of In The Loop was something we wanted, but it turns it out it's exactly the thing we needed to get excited about Godzilla again. Dan and Garrett sit down with Jill Malcolm, contributing editor of Cinedelphia, to discuss her all-time favorite movie movie - Goodfellas. Perhaps the quintessential Scorsese movie, Goodfellas is the culmination of 30 years of work by a master filmmaker who pulls out every trick he's ever learned and uses every tool at his disposal to create a dense but breezy crime epic that rightfully earns its place amongst the best American films ever made. The trio discuss James Kwei and Thelma Schoonmaker's phenomenal editing, De Niro as a supporting player, the thematic use of the color red, and what to make of the film's final shot.   We were honored for this episode to be joined by Eric Bresler of PhilaMOCA, Cinedelphia (the website and the film fest), Unknown Japan Film Fest and all around man about town. We also got to talk to the most famous 12 year old in Philadelphia, Lil Sean, about his upcoming Lil Sean Day event as well as the film he is working on for that event. Great conversation, Eric is awesome and fun to speak with and Sean is one of the coolest kids ever. I feel like I was a little off my game, my sugar was a mess, but Josh is charming as always. Here are some links to stuff we discussed in the episode http://www.nickcave.it/extra.php?IdExtra=78 http://www.philamoca.org/ http://cinedelphia.com/ https://www.facebook.com/events/695909810463148/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2730162/ as usual, sound is ok but not great, thanks for your patience with that. I also unintentionally insult stuff, again. Sorry for being a jerk. The post EPISODE 14: INTERVIEW WITH ERIC BRESLER AND LIL SEAN OF @PhilaMOCA AND @CinedelphiaFF appeared first on Cinepunx.
