Corey Knowlton has spent more time hunting internationally than just about any hunter on the planet. When you talk about hunting Africa specifically, that list becomes even narrower. A professional hunter/booking agent with over 70 safaris under his belt, he's seen just about anything the African bush can throw at you. On this episode we [...]

Episode 597 was one of the most fun discussions I've had in some time. It's always a treat to have world renowned big game hunter and adventurer Corey Knowlton in the studio. This week, his friend and Jim Shockey's cameraman of 10 years Todd Bissenden came along as well. Episode Highlights: - Are there any [...]
Back in 2014, Corey Knowlton paid $350,000 for a hunting trip to Namibia to shoot and kill an endangered species. He’s a professional hunter, who guides hunts all around the world, so going to Africa would be nothing new. The target on the other hand would be. And so too, he quickly found, would be the attention. This episode, producer Simon Adler follows Corey as he dodges death threats and prepares to pull the trigger. Along the way we stop to talk with Namibian hunters and government officials, American activists, and someone who's been here before - Kenya’s former Director of Wildlife, Richard Leakey. All the while, we try to uncover what conservation really means in the 21st century. Reported & produced by Simon Adler with production help from Matthew Kielty. Special thanks to Chris Weaver, Ian Wallace, Mark Barrow, the Lindstrom family, and everyone at the Aru Game Lodge in Namibia. Thanks also to Sarah Fogel, Ray Crow, Barbara Clucus, and Diogo Veríssimo. Support Radiolab by becoming a member today at Radiolab.org/donate.
Few big game hunters have traveled the globe searching for the next adventure like Corey Knowlton has. He's hunted in over 60 countries and counting. So when you talk international travel, adventure and conservation from a global perspective, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge. On this episode we discuss some of those adventures, [...]

We visit with Texas Parks and Wildlife Law Enforcement Chief of Staff and TPWD Whitetail Deer Program Leader Alan Cain on the topic. There is so much misinformation out there and [...]
Perhaps the greatest conservation success story of our time is that of the wild turkey. Market hunting, timber cutting and a general disregard for the resource resulted in less than 30,000 birds left in North America by the early 1930s. Our TPWD Turkey Program Leader Jason Hardin makes his return to the broadcast. We [...]
