The hallmark of exceptional autonomous driving technology isn't just how it reacts in a crisis but how it avoids one altogether. That's the vision behind May Mobility: a world where self-driving cars confidently navigate busy intersections, unexpected detours, and pedestrian-filled crosswalks with the instincts of a seasoned human driver. At the core of May Mobility's technology platform is its patented Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) system. This breakthrough technology uses real-time, in-situ AI to interpret data, continuously learning and adapting to new, complex, and unpredictable driving conditions. By learning on the fly—much like a human driver—May Mobility's AVs can be deployed faster and more cost-effectively than traditional systems. To explore how May Mobility is scaling its AV technology, we spoke with Ed Olson, CEO and Founder, about the company's city-wide AV deployments, strategic partnerships with Toyota and NTT, and its entrance into the rideshare market through a new collaboration with Lyft. It's an engaging, behind-the-scenes look at how AI-powered mobility solutions are transforming urban transportation and paving the way for safer, smarter roads. We'd love to hear from you. Hey, great to bring you Episode 107 with Stratis Kas and Lionel Wolowitz. Huge thanks to XDEEP for sponsoring Speaking Sidemount. In this episode, I catch up with Stratis Kas and Lionel Wolovitz. You may remember Stratis has been on the show twice before to discuss his cave exploration in Greece and his book "Close Calls". The latter proved somewhat prophetic, as Stratis recently experienced an Arterial Gas Embolism (AGE) following a series of "deepish", long-duration dives in Mexico. The incident was life-threatening, and Stratis credits his dive buddies, Lionel and Ruben, along with the medical teams in Playa del Carmen, with saving his life.In my conversation with Stratis and Lionel, we discussed the trip, the dives leading up to the incident, and the incident itself. Stratis recounts his thought processes, the mistakes made, and then reflects on the incident. He then hands over to Lionel, who gives his account of the rescue, what they saw, how they cared for Stratis, and the terrifying transfer to the hospital and medical/chamber treatment.Stratis and Lionel are incredibly open about the mistakes they made and why they feel these happened. They share the lessons learned and how we all can take something from this incident. As a postscript, following the recording of this episode, Stratis went to DAN Europe for testing and discovered he has a Type 3 PFO that will require surgery before he can return to diving. The PFO was likely causal in the DCI incident; now, questions remain around the other factors and how they may have contributed to the incident. More to come...Enjoy SteveThanks to Stratis and LionelImage Credit - Joram MennesOur Show Sponsor XDEEP - https://www.xdeep.eu/Sidemount Fundamentals eBook - https://www.sidemountpros.com/storeLionel mentioned the RescuEAN Pod, which would have made a significant difference in their rescue efforts - more here: https://www.rescuean.com/

In this in-depth discussion, we explore the significant Supreme Court ruling that blocked the Democrats' judge-shopping tactics, preventing cases from being funneled into the DC District Court for favorable rulings. The ruling's implications reach far beyond immigration, touching on the potential for a judicial coup if Democrats could pick and choose where their cases are heard. We also discuss the ongoing debates over immigration, voter rolls, and the Biden administration's handling of illegal immigration, alongside Elon Musk's frustrations over tariffs and business challenges. Tensions are high as the left pushes for unchecked control, while the right fights to maintain sovereignty and fairness in the legal system.

*FAN MAIL: Text Greg your comments!Flight instructing offers some of the most rewarding flying there is. We experience the joy of fulfilling our students' dreams of flight, become better pilots ourselves in the process, and develop lifelong friendships with many of those we teach. But among hours and hours of routine teaching and flying, there are occasional hard lessons, too, most often unanticipated. And those hard lessons are generally even more eye-opening and profound for us instructors than for our students. Above all, we learn that while maintaining a relaxed cockpit learning environment, we must never become complacent. Okay, everyone, hop aboard my Flying Carpet, buckle into the pilot's seat, and prepare for takeoff on Flight Number 36, “Bowling Alley Hot Dogs.” Support the showhttps://gregbrownflyingcarpet.com/podcast/https://www.facebook.com/GregBrownFlyingCarpet/https://www.instagram.com/gregbrownflyingcarpet/

You need to hear about Laura's last-minute casino field trip and The "hottest Vietnamese sandwich in history" story. It's wild, it's funny, it's true and it has a happy ending. Erik goes toe to toe or beak to body with an old parrot. Sounds made up but it's all true. You need to hear this unreal story. We briefly touch on our awkward JC Penney Podcast Promo Shoot (more on that next episode.) We dive into the Drake/Kendrick beef and the other celeb beefs in the Double D news. Try not to be offended by Erik's choice of T-shirts and give Laura some credit for being able to stay conscious in the tightest dress on the planet. Think of this episode as a little bit of this and a dash of that which results in a recipe for laughs and jabs. Escape for a little while, grab a snack, and hang with us. A Note from James: So, I'm out rock climbing, but I really wanted to take a moment to introduce today's guest: Roger Reaves. This guy is unbelievable. He's arguably the biggest drug smuggler in history, having worked with Pablo Escobar and others through the '70s, '80s, and even into the '90s. Roger's life is like something out of a movie—he spent 33 years in jail and has incredible stories about the drug trade, working with people like Barry Seal, and the U.S. government's involvement in the smuggling business. Speaking of Barry Seal, if you've seen American Made with Tom Cruise, there's a wild scene where Barry predicts the prosecutor's next move after being arrested—and sure enough, it happens just as he said. Well, Barry Seal actually worked for Roger. That's how legendary this guy is. Roger also wrote a book called Smuggler about his life. You'll want to check that out after hearing these crazy stories. Here's Roger Reaves. Episode Description: Roger Reaves shares his extraordinary journey from humble beginnings on a farm to becoming one of the most notorious drug smugglers in history. He discusses working with Pablo Escobar, surviving harrowing escapes from law enforcement, and the brutal reality of imprisonment and torture. Roger reflects on his decisions, the human connections that shaped his life, and the lessons learned from a high-stakes career. Whether you're here for the stories or the insights into an underground world, this episode offers a rare glimpse into a life few could imagine. What You'll Learn: How Roger Reaves became involved in drug smuggling and built connections with major players like Pablo Escobar and Barry Seal. The role of the U.S. government in the drug trade and its surprising intersections with Roger's operations. Harrowing tales of near-death experiences, including shootouts, plane crashes, and daring escapes. The toll a life of crime takes on family, faith, and personal resilience. Lessons learned from decades of high-risk decisions and time behind bars.
