David Trent, a wealth manager who exited his company very comfortably and is now a speaker, business coach and soon-to-be-author, isn't only a master of acronyms. He's also someone who can compare the time he failed when coaching his son's second grade basketball team to the sort of failures he had when launching (and exiting) his business. In this episode we discussed how self-development books can help you overcome failure, why logging your successes and failures at the end of the day transforms your perspective and what it's like to fail every day. Comedy epiphanies! Comedy revelations! The six comedians each share a story about the time they knew - that something was about to change. It's episode 3 of season 6 which means the comedians still are: Matt Price, Josie Long, Ed Byrne, David Trent, Shappi Khorsandi and Mark Watson. And I am your host, Sofie Hagen. Comedians telling anecdotes about their worst shows in comedy - what's not to like? In this second episode of the sixth season, our six comedians Matt Price, Josie Long, Ed Byrne, David Trent, Shappi Khorsandi and Mark Watson, tell the stories of their worst comedy experiences. And they are not fooling around this time. We have some seriously dramatic stories in this one. One comic almost got murdered by a gangster, one comic went through hell after a video was posted online, one comedian bombed on TELEVISION. If you are up for cringing and sharing someone's pain, this is the perfect episode. I am, as always, your host Sofie Hagen. David Trent is “one of the most talked-about people in comedy right now.” (GUARDIAN ****) and was nominated forthe Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival in 2012 as well as the 2013 Chortle Comedy Awards Breakthrough Act. After a total sell-out run of 'Spontaneous Comedian' in 2012, 'This Is All I Have' is David's second ever Edinburgh show and returns to Edinburgh with his computer, projector and accessories in crates and his screen by his side. Nightly he will take the computer and projector and accessories out of the crates, place them onto the crates, connect them together and project images both moving and still onto the screen which will be placed approximately three feet in front of the projector. In addition to this he will direct inject the sound from the computer into the Public Address system of the venue. He will speak into a microphone alongside the images and sounds to create laughter. This is 2013. This is Comedy. THIS IS ALL HE HAS. Up until December 2012, David Trent juggled full time primary school teaching with comedy. He no longer teaches.
