Ur-Energy (AMEX:URG) - New Leadership Takes Helm at Active US Uranium Producer

Interview with Matthew Gili, President of Ur-Energy LtdOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/slow-supply-fast-demand-uraniums-new-investment-reality-7136Recording date: 5th September 2025Ur-Energy has emerged as a standout performer in the uranium sector under new leadership, positioning itself as one of the few active US producers during a critical market recovery period. The company recently appointed Matthew Gili as president, bringing over three decades of large-scale mining operations experience from industry leaders including Rio Tinto and Barrick Gold.Gili's appointment represents a strategic inflection point for the Wyoming-based producer. Despite lacking uranium-specific experience, his proven track record in operational turnarounds across silver, gold, and copper operations provides exactly what Ur Energy needs. "I don't come from the uranium background. I come from the gold and copper background primarily," Gili explained, emphasizing his focus on "business improvement cycles regarding project management cycles regarding just good old management operating systems."The company's Lost Creek facility currently produces over 110,000 pounds of uranium quarterly, with management targeting 800,000 to 1.2 million pounds annually. Demonstrating cost competitiveness, Ur-Energy achieved $42 cash costs per pound in Q2, providing healthy margins at current uranium prices while targeting further reductions through operational optimization.Near-term growth prospects center on Shirley Basin, scheduled for commissioning in Q1 2026. The project's strategic design maximizes existing infrastructure utilization, with resin capture processing at Shirley Basin and loaded resin trucked to Lost Creek for precipitation processing.Ur-Energy's three-property portfolio operates within a 10-mile radius of Casper, Wyoming, creating significant operational synergies. "We can share people. We can share warehouses and we can truck material from one site to the other," Gili noted, highlighting cost advantages over multi-jurisdictional competitors. The company's strategic positioning as an active producer during uranium supply shortages provides immediate price leverage advantages. As Gili emphasized, "The entities that make the real money are the entities that are operating when the price goes up," distinguishing Ur-Energy from development-stage competitors facing construction risk and capital requirements.Learn more: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/ur-energy-incSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

General News  01:02 AOL is finally shutting down its dial-up internet service | AP News AOL is discontinuing its dial-up internet service on September 30, 2024, marking the end of a technology that introduced millions to the internet in the 1990s and early 2000s. Census data shows 163,401 US households still used dial-up in 2023, representing 0.13% of homes with internet subscriptions, highlighting the persistence of legacy infrastructure in underserved areas – which is honestly crazy.  Here's hoping that these folks are able to switch to alternatives, like Starlink. This shutdown reflects broader technology lifecycle patterns as companies retire legacy services like Skype, Internet Explorer, and AOL Instant Messenger to focus resources on modern platforms. The transition away from dial-up demonstrates the evolution from telephone-based connectivity to broadband and wireless technologies that now dominate internet access. AOL’s journey from a $164 billion valuation in 2000 to being sold by Verizon in 2021 illustrates the rapid shifts in technology markets and the challenges of ada

Vermummte Jugendliche stecken Abfallkübel in Brand. What happens when a Marvel superhero and an indie filmmaker ditch the script and attempt to build the next great beverage brand? In this episode, actor Wyatt Russell – best known for his role as U.S. Agent in the Marvel film “Thunderbolts” – and producer Richard Peete pull back the curtain on their journey launching Lake Hour, a fast-growing canned cocktail brand that's making waves far beyond the red carpet. What began as a lighthearted idea in a hot tub quickly evolved into a deep dive into flavor formulation, production logistics, and the steep learning curve of the beverage alcohol world. Wyatt and Richard share the unfiltered realities of entrepreneurship and how they've stayed focused on creating a premium product that resonates with today's drinkers. Show notes: 0:25: Interview: Wyatt Russell & Richard Peete, Co-Founders, Lake Hour – Wyatt reveals he's currently in London filming an upcoming Marvel movie, while Richard is preparing for a short-term move to Vancouver. The co-founders reflect on how Lake Hour began as a side project and quickly evolved into a full-time venture, one that proved far more challenging than they initially expected. Despite their Hollywood backgrounds, Wyatt and Richard emphasize that Lake Hour is not a celebrity-driven brand. Instead, they are deeply involved in every aspect of the business, from product development to marketing. Wyatt, notably, chooses not to maintain a personal public Instagram account, but remains active behind the scenes, supporting the brand's social media efforts. They attribute Lake Hour's steady growth to strong execution, a commitment to quality, and a focus on unique flavor profiles like Rosemary Yuzu and Earl Grey Vodka Iced Tea. As the company looks ahead to a Series A raise, it's preparing to scale intentionally and bring on a Chief Marketing Officer to support the next phase of growth. Brands in this episode: Lake Hour, Lake Hour, BuzzBallz, Betty Booze, Twisted Tea, High Noon, White Claw, BeatBox, Archer Roose, Bell's Brewery, Surfside

At Ghislaine Maxwell's sentencing in June 2022, survivors delivered powerful and emotional victim impact statements that left no doubt about the damage she had inflicted. One woman stated plainly, “I never would have met Jeffrey Epstein if not for you,” holding Maxwell personally responsible for the years of abuse that followed. Another described her as a “monster,” recounting how Maxwell's grooming, manipulation, and betrayal left her permanently scarred. The survivors spoke about shattered lives, ruined trust, and emotional damage that will never fully heal. Maxwell wasn't a passive bystander—she was the architect of their exploitation, intimately involved in luring and preparing underage girls for sexual abuse under the guise of mentorship and opportunity.Anyone attempting to refurbish Maxwell's image would do well to stop and truly absorb what she did—and who she did it to. These weren't abstract victims or peripheral crimes. They were calculated acts committed against vulnerable girls, many of whom were already struggling. Maxwell used charm, privilege, and social power as tools of entrapment, playing the role of the "trusted woman" to disarm and deliver victims to a predator. Her refusal to accept responsibility, her lies under oath, and her ongoing lack of remorse only deepen the stain of her crimes. There can be no public rehabilitation due the wreckage she left behind.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:M6SQmaxSF

Theresa Helm has alleged that she was deceived and abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in the early 2000s. According to her account, she was approached by Maxwell with what appeared to be a professional opportunity—an interview for a position as a massage therapist for a wealthy couple. Helm, then a young woman aspiring to build a career, accepted the invitation and traveled to Epstein's Manhattan townhouse. Once there, she says the situation quickly turned predatory. Maxwell introduced her to Epstein, and what had been framed as a job interview devolved into a sexual assault. Helm described being manipulated by both Epstein and Maxwell, who she says worked together to lure in and exploit vulnerable young women under the pretense of employment.Since coming forward, Helm has emerged as a vocal advocate for survivors and a critic of how authorities handled the Epstein case. She has called for the full release of government records and files tied to Epstein's criminal operation, arguing that these documents hold the key to understanding the full scope of the abuse and those complicit in it. Helm has also been outspoken in her belief that the issue should not be reduced to political point-scoring or media spectacle; instead, it should remain focused on justice and transparency for victims. Her story adds to the growing body of allegations illustrating the systemic nature of Epstein and Maxwell's trafficking ring, which thrived on deception, institutional failures, and a disturbing ability to operate in plain sight.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Ghislaine Maxwell, Alleged Epstein Accomplice, Goes on Trial

Prepare for game-changing AI insights! Join Noelle Russell, CEO of the AI Leadership Institute and author of Scaling Responsible AI: From Enthusiasm to Execution. Noelle, an AI pioneer, shares her journey from the early Alexa team with Jeff Bezos, where her unique perspective shaped successful mindfulness apps. We'll explore her "I Love AI" community, which has taught over 3.4 million people. Unpack responsible, profitable AI, from the "baby tiger" analogy for AI development and organizational execution, to critical discussions around data bias and the cognitive cost of AI over-reliance.Key Moments: Journey into AI: From Jeff Bezos to Alexa (03:13): Noelle describes how she "stumbled into AI" after receiving an email from Jeff Bezos inviting her to join a new team at Amazon, later revealed to be the early Alexa team. She highlights that while she lacked inherent AI skills, her "purpose and passion" fueled her journey."I Love AI" Community & Learning (11:02): After leaving Amazon and experiencing a personal transition, Noelle created the "I Love AI" community. This free, neurodiverse space offers a safe environment for people, especially those laid off or transitioning careers, to learn AI without feeling alone, fundamentally changing their life trajectories. The "Baby Tiger" Analogy (17:21): Noelle introduces her "baby tiger" analogy for early AI model development. She explains that in the "peak of enthusiasm" (baby tiger mode), people get excited about novel AI models, but often fail to ask critical questions about scale, data needs, long-term care, or what happens if the model isn't wanted anymore.Model Selection & Explainability (32:01): Noelle stresses the importance of a clear rubric for model selection and evaluation, especially given rapid changes. She points to Stanford's HELM project (Holistic Evaluation of Language Models) as an open-source leaderboard that evaluates models on "toxicity" beyond just accuracy.Avoiding Data Bias (40:18): Noelle warns against prioritizing model selection before understanding the problem and analyzing the data landscape, as this often leads to biased outcomes and the "hammer-and-nail" problem.Cognitive Cost of AI Over-Reliance (44:43): Referencing recent industry research, Noelle warns about the potential "atrophy" of human creativity due to over-reliance on AI. Key Quotes:"Show don't tell... It's more about understanding what your review board does and how they're thinking and what their backgrounds are... And then being very thoughtful about your approach."  - Noelle Russell"When we use AI as an aid rather than as writing the whole thing or writing the title, when we use it as an aid, like, can you make this title better for me? Then our brain actually is growing. The creative synapses are firing away." Noelle Russell"Most organizations, most leaders... they're picking their model before they've even figured out what the problem will be... it's kind of like, I have a really cool hammer, everything's a nail, right?"  - Noelle RussellMentions:"I Love AI" CommunityScaling Responsible AI: From Enthusiasm to Execution - Noelle Russell"Your Brain on ChatGPT" - MIT Media LabPower to Truth: AI Narratives, Public Trust, and the New Tech Empire - StanfordMeta-learning, Social Cognition and Consciousness in Brains and MachinesHELM - A Reproductive and Transparent Framework for Evaluating Foundation ModelsGuest Bio: Noelle Russell is a multi-award-winning speaker, author, and AI Executive who specializes in transforming businesses through strategic AI adoption.
