Ich persönlich habe die Hochzeiten der Reihe leider verpasst. Zu sehr war ich damals mit Final Fantasy beschäftigt um nur einen Gedanken an den düsteren mysteriösen Helden Dante zu verschwenden. Umso erfreuter war ich, die HD Collection mit den ersten 3 Teilen der Reihe auf der PS4 spielen zu können. Doch bereits bei Teil 1 musste ich tief Luft holen. Trotz der grafischen Aufhübschung ist das Spiel arg in die Jahre gekommen und das merkt man nicht nur äußerlich, sondern auch an der Steuerung und der starren Kamera. Hier hat man wirklich nur die Optik etwas aufgebessert und war fertig mit dem Spiel. Teil 2 und 3 liefern dafür mehr Features, die sich schon eher lohnen mal rein zu gucken. "Neuer" Schwierigkeitsmodus, alle Features der Special Editions und freischaltbare Waffen und auch weitere Extras sind dabei, wie spielbare Charaktere. Ich erwähne bewusst "Neue", denn eigentlich ist es nur die leicht eingepasste PS3 HD Collection, die bereits vor 6 Jahren herausgekommen ist. Ich hätte mir daher entweder eine umfangreichere Collection gewünscht, zum Beispiel inklusive Teil 4 und DMC, oder wenigstens die original japanische Synchro hätte es schon aufgewertet. So fühlt es sich nur wie ein lieblos aufgelegtes Spiel an, was für einen schnellen Euro auf den Markt geschmissen wurde. Ich hoffe inständig, dass wenigstens für die neue Generation eine wirkliche Devil May Cry Collection mit allen Teilen auf den Markt kommt mit mehr Features. Dennoch ist es ein zeitloser Klassiker und wer diesen bislang immer noch nicht gespielt hat, der bekommt hiermit die Gelegenheit.
