Episode 206 w/ Dom Bird by BEATS OF NO NATION
This Christmas, you don't need the world's version of peace — the kind that depends on perfect circumstances, tidy emotions, or life behaving itself. You need a deeper peace.A stronger peace.A stable peace. If your life feels messy, noisy, anxious, or anything but peaceful, this message is for you.The peace you long for is not a feeling. It's not a season. It's not a moment. It's a person. His name is Jesus. And He still brings stable peace.
A New Heaven and a New Earth — The Hope at the End of the Story | Revelation 21:1–7 In this message, we explore one of the most breathtaking promises in all of Scripture: God will make all things new. Revelation 21 gives us a window into the future God has planned—a renewed creation, a restored world, and a redeemed people dwelling with Him forever. We look at: ✨ What the Bible means by a “new heaven and a new earth” ✨ How creation's renewal is tied to our own resurrection and redemption ✨ What Scripture teaches about where believers go when they die ✨ The Seven “No Mores” of Revelation—God's promise that pain, death, and darkness will be gone forever ✨ The beauty and symbolism of the New Jerusalem, the eternal home prepared for God's people This teaching invites us to lift our eyes from temporary struggles and set our hearts on the unshakeable hope God has promised. Heaven is not abstract, distant, or cloudy—it is real, physical, renewed, and filled with the presence of Jesus. If you need encouragement, clarity, or renewed hope, this message is for you.
In today's message, Dom and Kevin Sissons tackle one of the most debated topics in Bible prophecy: the timing of the rapture.Dom begins by laying out what the rapture is according to Scripture and explains the major views Christians hold—pre-trib, mid-trib and post-trib.From there, Dom and Kevin dive into a live, good-natured debate exploring the strengths, challenges, and questions surrounding each position. Whether you're curious, confused, or excited about biblical prophecy, this conversation will help you understand the issues and model how to talk about them in a Christlike way.
Strap your seatbelts in — it's about to get interesting.Today, we're diving deep into Revelation 13, one of the most striking and symbolically rich chapters in Scripture.Who — or what — is the Antichrist? In Revelation 13, we see a terrifying vision: a beast rising from the sea, empowered by the dragon, deceiving nations, and demanding worship. But behind the symbolism lies a profound truth — a counterfeit trinity mimicking the Father, Son, and Spirit. In this message, we unpack:What “Antichrist” really means — “against” and “in place of” ChristHow the spirit of Antichrist has been at work throughout historyThe rise of the final Antichrist — the ultimate counterfeit messiahThe unholy trinity — the Dragon, the Beast, and the False ProphetThe mystery of 666 — and why it points to rebellion against GodThe hope of Christ's unshakable kingdomFrom Daniel to Revelation, from Nero to now — this message helps you recognize deception, stand firm in truth, and live with confident hope in the true King, Jesus Christ.⛪ Subscribe for more Bible teaching and end-times insights#Revelation13 #Antichrist #BibleTeaching #EndTimes #Prophecy #JesusChrist #Faith #Sermon #TheBeast #TruthOverDeception
In this powerful teaching, Dom explores one of the most sobering and significant topics in Scripture: The Tribulation. From Daniel's 70 weeks to Jesus' words in Matthew 24, this message uncovers how prophecy, pressure, and purpose come together in God's plan for the end of the age. You'll discover: • Why the church has moved away from preaching on the end times — and why we need to return to it. • What Jesus meant by “birth pains” and how our world today mirrors those warnings. • The meaning of the Greek word θλῖψις (thlipsis) — tribulation, crushing, pressure — and what it reveals about faith under fire. • How Daniel's prophecy of 70 “sevens” sets the stage for the Great Tribulation. • The two halves of the final 7 years: the mercy of God's witnesses and the justice of His judgment. • And ultimately, how Jesus endured His own tribulation so we could have hope in ours. This isn't a message of fear — it's a message of faith. When the world feels unstable, remember: it's not falling apart… it's falling into place.
If this is the end, what should I expect? Wars. Famines. Earthquakes. Rumours of wars.Jesus said these things would mark the “beginning of birth pains” before His return (Matthew 24:6–8).In this message, Dom looks at:⚔️ How wars have escalated from swords to nuclear weapons.
When most people think of the book of Revelation, they either avoid it because it feels too confusing… or they obsess over it, trying to decode every headline and every number. But the truth is, Revelation wasn't written to scare us or confuse us—it was written to bless us (Revelation 1:3). In this message, Dom explores: - What apocalyptic literature really means (hint: it's not zombies and destruction). - Why Revelation is first and foremost a revelation of Jesus Christ. - How to approach the symbols and visions without getting lost in speculation. - Why the message of Revelation is ultimately one of hope and victory—because the Lamb wins. - Why the book of Revelation makes Dom more emotional than any other book in the Bible. This sermon kicks off a 7-day challenge to read Revelation aloud—not to solve every puzzle, but to encounter Jesus more clearly and to receive the blessing He promises.
This is the first of a bunch of sermons in the 'If This Is The End' Series. This series will unpack what the Last Days or End Times are and what that means for us as Christians.
In this message, Dom addresses the sadness and heaviness from the last week with the assassination of Charlie Kirk and how Satan cannot stop the church and its message from advancing. 'The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church' - Tertullian. Hope is alive — because Jesus has already won the victory!
This is a very practical way to deal with the hardships of christian life.Dom discusses '3 Disses':Disappointed - unmet expectations that leave us woundedDiscouragement - losing heart and feeling deflated.Disengagement - withdrawing from church or mission.Dom ends by reiterating the importance of church and community in the times where we may be disappointed, discouraged and feel tempted to disengage.
This is the final part of the Empowered Series. Dom discussed sanctification and uses Hebrews 10:14 as a reference. This challenging message asks the question, if we are not being made holy, then have we been made perfect? The idea that if there is no fruit or evidence of a heart that's been touched by Jesus then you have to question wether you have been made perfect.
This is a continuation of the EMPOWERED series and we talk about how, instead of pursuing Personality, Purpose, Programme, we should pursue His Presence.Personality, Purpose and Programme are all good things but they should be a servant, not a master.
This is a continuation of the EMPOWERED series.
This is the first part of a series on The Holy Spirit, beginning in Acts 2 to discuss the significance of the apostle waiting up in the upperoom and The Holy Spirit coming upon them.
This is the first part of a series on The Holy Spirit, and Dom talks about Acts 19 where the people of the church didn't know of The Holy Spirit and how the modern church still suffers with the same issue in places.
Today we see how God speaking prophetically changed Pastor Dom's message in a single moment and explored the idea of how not choosing life is actually choosing death. We see that we can take time with God to analyse a problem, where it's rooted and what we can do to uproot these things.
Today we again discuss the idea of what it means to ‘choose life' and how daily obedience and habitually getting into the word is a big part of that.A few key points from the sermon are:Obedience requires sacrifice and its not about control or an earning of love but its an expression of love.God's commands are not a cage, they are a compass.
Today we discuss the idea of what it means to ‘choose life'. We look at a passage from Deuteronomy 30:19 which essentially says you have now seen Life and Death, Blessings and Curses, So choose life!In society, we are faced with tens of thousands of decisions daily. But Choosing Jesus is the only one that matters ultimately. We should choose Jesus every day because He says; ‘I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing'.(John 15:5)
Today we talk about Jesus' best miracle - The Forgiveness of Sins. We discuss the story of the 4 people bringing a paralysed man to Jesus and how Jesus saw their faith, turned to the paralysed man and instead of instantly healing the man's legs, He forgave his sins. This is so significant because you can understand that Jesus knew he had a need bigger than having working legs. This man, like all of us, needed the forgiveness of one's sins to get right with God because we simply cannot do it alone. We end by taking communion and reflecting on what Jesus' sacrifice on the cross really means for us and our relationship with God.
Today we talk about Jesus walking on water and how it can speak into our day to day walk with Him. We explore the idea that we, like Peter, sink in the water when we doubt in God's power. We sink when we take our eyes off of Him and try to walk on the water, above the waves, without Jesus. It is important to note that Jesus, from His higher place, knew the apostles were heading towards a storm yet didn't divert them. Jesus even went to walk past the apostles, just so they could see Him.With all of this, we see that God won't always provide relief in situations, but will provide revelation. A few points to take are:Relief comforts you, but revelation transforms you. Relief is temporary, but revelation is life-changing.Relief soothes the moment, but revelation shapes the future.Relief gives you ease, but revelation gives you growth.Relief gets you through, but revelation takes you beyond.Relief may calm the storm, but revelation teaches you to walk on water.Relief eases the burden, but revelation breaks the chains.Relief is the manna for today, but revelation is the promise of tomorrow.Relief lifts your spirit, but revelation renews your mind.Relief quenches the thirst, but revelation becomes a wellspring of life.Relief gives you rest, but revelation leads you to resurrection.Relief is a moment of peace, but revelation is the path to purpose.Relief may heal the wound, but revelation restores the soul.
Today we talk about God's promise to Abraham and Sarah to provide a son and how against all hope, in hope, Abraham believed he would bare a child even in his old age. Abraham then was willing to give up his only son as a sacrifice to the Lord, yet God provided a ram as an alternative sacrifice, foreshadowing what God was going to do through Jesus in years to come.We then talk about 4 key principles, derived from Jesus feeding the 5000 Men (besides women and children), and how if we give God something even seemingly little, He can do so much with it.The 4 key principles are: Grace - Giving - Gratitude - Gain.
Today we talk about the miracle where Jesus turns water into wine and how something so seemingly insignificant was so profoundly important to how Jesus calls us to walk in faith today.Jesus cares about the details so we should be praying about the smaller things in life and not just focussing on the giants we're facing.
Today we look at the fundamentals of the Gospel message and explore the idea's that Jesus illustrated through the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son.God leaves the 99 sheep to save the 1 who is straying away, perhaps unintentionally. God desperately searches for the one coin that is unknowingly lost.God searches far and wide for the son or daughter that is willfully lost.Once the Son, the coin and/or the lost sheep returns, God rejoices because His relationship with us is THAT personal.
Today we dive deeper into the mission that Jesus set before his disciples, to be fishers of people.Jesus called these 'ordinary' men who fished for a living, to instead live to fish for people and we discuss how that may look in our lives. We aren't just a plumber that goes to church, but we a christian that plumb's.
Today we look at passages from Matthew and Luke surrounding Jesus' call for the disciples to become fishers of people. Through these passages and various testimonies from our pastor, the overarching theme was to be willing to respond to Jesus' call, expanding on our previous week's theme - God calling us as 'ordinary' people, in 'ordinary' places to do 'Extraordinary' things through Him.
Today we learn about what it looks like to follow Jesus in whatever he calls us to do and living a life worthy of that calling. We began by referencing how He called upon 'ordinary' people to fulfill a great purpose. Though these people may have been 'ordinary' in an earthly kingdom sense, their open servant heart meant the Lord could do great things through them.
In this message, Dom explores the weariness of life caused by external pressures, personal struggles, and spiritual exhaustion. Drawing from Matthew 11:28-30, Dom unpacks Jesus' invitation to live life in the "unforced rhythms of grace" instead of striving under the weight of self-effort and legalistic religion. Learn how to replace the cycle of "Try. Fail. Shame." with a deeper revelation of your identity in Christ. Discover how God's promise of a new heart, as prophesied in Ezekiel and fulfilled in Jesus, transforms our lives from perception to position. This shift empowers us not just for personal renewal but also to live with purpose as ambassadors of reconciliation.
Today we recap the series on spiritual warfare and discuss the hopeful message of Jesus being the light of the world.
In today's message, we explored how to see deliverance from strongholds and the need for the demolition of the fortress in which the enemy resided in and used to influence our lives and thought patterns.
In today's message, we explored the subtle, everyday battles that shape our spiritual lives. So far in this series, we've focused on the grand scope of spiritual warfare happening all around us. But this week, we're zooming in on the “little foxes”—those small, seemingly minor details where the enemy tries to gain a foothold in our lives personally.
In today's message, we dive into the subtle, everyday battles that shape our spiritual lives. We've talked about the epic spiritual warfare playing out, but this time, we're focusing on the “little foxes” — the small, seemingly insignificant details where the enemy tries to get a foothold. Using David's story from 2 Samuel, we see how a moment of idleness and a small glance spiralled into devastating consequences. It's a reminder that spiritual warfare often begins in the details. From compromises in character to unchecked emotions and distractions from God's purpose, these "little foxes" can derail us if we're not vigilant. But just as the enemy works in the details, so does God, offering us strength and wisdom to overcome. Let's examine our lives, stay alert, and embrace the victory Christ has already won.
In this impactful part of the ‘This Means War' series, Pastor Dom dives into the origins of Satan, the effects of his influence, and—most importantly—how we can overcome every spiritual battle through Christ. Whether you're seeking encouragement, inspiration, or fresh revelation this message is for you. Get ready to be challenged and uplifted as it speaks deeply to your soul.
Are you struggling in an area of your life? Don't know why you aren't seeing breakthrough? You can't win if you don't know what your fighting. In this episode, Pastor Dom unveils truth about the struggle we are in. Turning to the book of Daniel, he draws out the truth that we are in a spiritual battle, that the enemy is organised and we can't afford to be blind to the battle. This is the start of a 6 weeks series, so make sure you listen in as Pastor Dom explores more about Spiritual Warfare.
In this episode, Pastor Dom challenges us and asks if we are in a season where we feel disconnected? If we struggle with a lack of passion? If we doubt? If you can relate, listen in to this message with a soft heart, and ears ready to hear. The good news is that the Lord wants to send the rain and bring it back into our lives.

In this episode, Pastor Dom Birds share his love of testimonies, encouraging us to be both walking for Christ and talking for Christ. In Romans 10, Paul challenges us - How can they hear if no-one tells them? And Dom lays the groundwork of truth that Jesus is the only one who can save a soul and turn a heart around. God wants us to tell the world! The back end of this episode is filled with Testimony from the Sunnyhill Church Family, which we hopes blesses you.
