Trois semaines après le cessez-le-feu, la situation à Gaza reste critique. Max Le Lijour, chargé de communication du PAM, explique que le Programme alimentaire mondial poursuit ses opérations « à un rythme très intense ».Depuis le cessez-le-feu, 1 million de personnes ont reçu des colis alimentaires, chacun contenant assez de nourriture pour nourrir la famille pendant dix jours, et près de 700.000 personnes reçoivent chaque jour du pain frais grâce aux boulangeries soutenues par le PAM.En parallèle, 200.000 personnes bénéficient d'une aide en espèces numériques. Plus de 150.000 femmes enceintes, mères allaitantes et enfants ont reçu des suppléments nutritionnels essentiels, et les enfants à l'école reçoivent biscuits et barres énergétiques dans les sites d'apprentissage temporaires.Le PAM souhaite continuer à intensifier son aide, mais souligne qu'« il faut que tous les points de passage soient ouverts et que les convois humanitaires puissent circuler librement ».« C'est la seule façon de garantir que chaque famille, dans le Nord comme dans le Sud, ait enfin de quoi manger », explique Max Le Lijour.(Extrait sonore : Max Le Lijour, charge de communication PAM Gaza ; propos recueillis par Cristina Silveiro)

A new treatment is on the way for Kiwis impacted by OCD. Charity Open Closed Doors is bringing The Bergen Four Day OCD programme to our shores - the treatment is internationally recognised and has a near 70 percent success rate. Clinical psychologist Dr Ben Sedley travelled to Singapore to learn about the programme first-hand, and he was impressed by the results. "Once you learn how to recognise all the compulsions and stop them and you've got a one-on-one clinician with you side by side for two days of doing the exposure response prevention, plus some psychoeducation - when you have all these thing together, you really have the chance to just get the momentum." With the COP30 climate summit under way in Brazil, we take you to the United Arab Emirates, one of the most arid countries in the world. There, the government has implemented a cloud-seeding programme to increase rainfall. While the UAE mainly uses seawater desalination to obtain water, it has also employed this cutting-edge technology as drought continues to worsen in the Middle East. It's therefore a necessity, but also a soft power tool for the Gulf monarchy, which plans to become a global leader in access to "blue gold" and will host the next UN Water Conference in 2026. On Tuesday, 4 November, it was 20 years since the death of Comenius University student Daniel Tupý, who was killed in Bratislava in an attack by a group of people described by eyewitnesses as neo-Nazis. Daniel was targeted simply because of his long hair, glasses, and guitar. The guitar has now become the central motif of a new statue commissioned by Comenius University, unveiled during a commemorative event on 4 November 2025. Discussing the inspiration behind this artwork are its designer, Milan Stanco, Daniel's father, Daniel Tupý Sr., and a university lecturer in music history. Ausgehend von Deutschlands neuer Hightech-Agenda (mit Schwerpunkten wie KI, Quantencomputing und Biotechnologie) diskutieren sie, wie nationale Programme lokale Cluster beeinflussen und warum Orte mit starker Forschungs- und Infrastrukturbasis – etwa DESY und die Science City in Hamburg – als Anker dienen.Die Episode zeigt, wie Konvergenz zwischen Technologien wie KI, Quanten- und Neuromorphik-Computing, Robotik oder XR Tempo aufnimmt und welche Rolle „universelle Schnittstellen“ wie große Sprachmodelle dabei spielen. Zugleich machen die beiden deutlich, dass Grundlagenforschung geschützte Domänen braucht, während Reallabore und Sandboxes die Brücke in die Anwendung schlagen. An konkreten Beispielen wird sichtbar, weshalb kurze Wege, stabile Rahmenbedingungen, verlässliche Testflächen und klar profilierte Stadt-Stärken den Unterschied zwischen Theorie und Transfer ausmachen.Ein zentrales Motiv der Folge ist der „Übersetzer“: Personen und Formate, die Forschung, Industrie und – oft als Ankerkunden – den Staat zielgerichtet zusammenbringen. Statt Event-Inflation braucht es kuratierte Räume, in denen Themen kurz vor der Marktreife fokussiert beschleunigt werden. Genau hier setzt der Deep Tech Campus Circle an: als bewusst exklusiver Ort, an dem Köpfe, Kapital und konkrete Use Cases aufeinandertreffen, um aus Keimlingen skalierbare Innovationen zu machen.Am Ende bleibt die klare These: Deep Tech entsteht, wenn tiefe Expertise, Geduld und ein klug orchestriertes Ökosystem zusammenwirken. The most recent Focus Group meeting was all about looking at the experience of volunteering as a blind or partially sighted person. RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey was joined by Charlotte Jones, RNIB Insight Community Manager and Grace Hill an RNIB Volunteer and focus group participant for a bit of an overview of the voice of the Customer Research Programme, and what it is like taking part in one of the focus group meetings. Au moins 1,25 million de personnes en Haïti ont été affectées par le passage de l'ouragan Melissa, dont 30 ont perdu la vie, a indiqué lundi le Programme alimentaire mondial (PAM). L'agence onusienne précise que de nombreuses habitations et infrastructures ont été détruites le long de la côte sud du pays, tandis que de vastes zones agricoles ont été ravagées.Avant l'arrivée du cyclone, le PAM avait déjà versé des paiements anticipés à quelque 50 000 personnes et livré une aide alimentaire dans plusieurs abris temporaires. L'organisation prévoit désormais de venir en aide à près de 190 000 personnes parmi les plus vulnérables : des rations pour deux semaines, suivies d'un mois de transferts monétaires destinés à soutenir le retour progressif des familles dans leurs foyers.(Extrait sonore : Daniel Ham, chef adjoint des programmes du PAM en Haiti ; propos recueillis par Cristina Silveiro)

The summit welcomed over 200 innovators, business leaders, and researchers, offering a deep dive into how immersive technologies are transforming key sectors such as manufacturing, construction, health tech, and energy. Speaking at the launch, Camille Donegan, CEO of Eirmersive, said: "The energy and engagement we witnessed throughout today's summit carried seamlessly into this evening's launch. The PRISM Manufacturing Programme represents the practical next step - moving from discussion to demonstration, and from potential to performance.
