Last June, Israel and the United States carried out coordinated strikes on nuclear and military sites across Iran in what became known as the 12-day war. The aim was clear: destroy Iran's nuclear-enrichment facilities amid warnings that Tehran was dangerously close to developing a nuclear weapon. Oggi vediamo insieme cinque parole molto utili per chi sta studiando per la patente. Sono parole che trovi spesso nei test, ma dette in modo semplice così capisci tutto senza stress. Andiamo!La prima parola è spazio totale di arresto. Questo nome sembra difficile, ma in realtà è semplice: lo spazio totale di arresto è la distanza che serve alla macchina per fermarsi completamente. Cioè, da quando tu vedi un pericolo e decidi di frenare, fino al momento in cui la macchina si ferma davvero. Questo spazio dipende dalla velocità e dalle condizioni della strada.La seconda parola è tempo di reazione. È il tempo che passa tra il momento in cui vedi un pericolo e il momento in cui cominci a frenare. Per esempio: vedi un pedone che attraversa, e dopo un attimo freni. Quel piccolo “attimo” è il tempo di reazione. Più sei attento, più il tuo tempo di reazione è veloce.La terza parola è consentire. Nei test della patente lo vedi spesso, e significa “permettere”. Per esempio: “Il semaforo in figura non consente di superare la velocità indicata”. Vuol dire che il semaforo non permette di andare più veloce del limite.La quarta parola è essere munito. È un'espressione un po' formale, e significa “avere con sé”. Nei test puoi trovare frasi come: “Il conducente deve essere munito di patente”, cioè il conducente deve avere la patente con sé, deve portarla.E l'ultima parola di oggi è la motrice. La motrice è la parte davanti di un veicolo pesante, come un camion. È la parte che ha il motore e che traina il rimorchio. Quindi, se vedi un camion con due parti, la motrice è quella che tira e guida tutto il resto.Bene, queste erano le parole di oggi! Spero che ti aiutino a capire meglio i test della patente e a studiare con più tranquillità. Trois poissons étonnants, puissants et mal aimés, qui vivent dans les profondeurs du golfe du Saint-Laurent : le loup atlantique, le loup tacheté et le loup à tête large. To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), we look at why gender-based violence persists, which societal factors fuel it, and what support systems exist in Slovakia today. Back for Business, the free programme aimed at supporting returned or soon-to-be-returning Irish emigrants to start and develop a business in Ireland, is seeking new applicants for its ninth cycle. The development programme, which is funded by the Irish Abroad Unit, Department of Foreign Affairs, was created to foster and support entrepreneurial activity among emigrants recently returned to Ireland. In opening the call for applicants, Neale Richmond, TD, Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, said: "I am acutely aware of the barriers that are faced by those returning to Ireland, and this is why the Programme for Government contains a specific commitment to provide support to assist Irish people living abroad who want to return. "Back for Business is a concrete example of the practical support that is provided through the Government's Emigrant Support Programme, to equip early-stage entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence, and networks to successfully start and develop sustainable businesses." Those interested in finding out more about the programme should check out the website and register their interest on www.backforbusiness.com, and an application form will be sent to them, with the deadline to apply Friday, January 16th. Up to 50 places will be available on Back for Business 9, which will run from February to June 2026. The Launch Forum and first round table event will take place on February 13th. Back for Business is for returned Irish emigrants who have lived abroad for at least a year and have returned to Ireland in the last three years, or for emigrants currently living abroad who are planning to return to Ireland in the near future. Since launching in 2017, the programme has helped participants to significantly grow sales and employment. It addresses challenges that all early-stage entrepreneurs encounter but also focuses on additional barriers faced by emigrants who have been living away from Ireland. Those who completed last year's programme, Back for Business 8, were very positive in their feedback with 100% saying they would recommend the programme to others and would like to stay in contact with the Back for Business community. In terms of their overall experience, Back for Business 8 participants rated it 4.5 out of a possible 5, with 93% considering the experience either extremely positive or very positive. A total of 97% felt nearer to achieving their ambitions since participating in Back for Business. At the start of the last cycle, under half of the group were trading, but over the course of the programme, this had increased to over two-thirds. The combined turnover of the participants was €1,425,000 at the start of the cycle. By the end, this had increased to €2,594,000, while employment numbers increased from 29 to 80 during the six months. Participants on Back for Business 9 will meet once a month on a peer-supported round table, facilitated by voluntary Lead Entrepreneurs who have experience of successfully starting and growing a business. Many of them have also lived abroad before returning to Ireland to start their business. This year's Lead Entrepreneurs are: Gillian O'Dowd, Director at Azon; Paul Duggan of The Gardiner Group; Seamus Reilly, co-founder and formerly of Critical Healthcare; Sinéad Doherty, founder and CEO of Fenero; and Thomas Ennis, founder of the Thomas Ennis Group. Back for Business past participant Aoife Mathews was based in Madrid when she co-founded SISTERLY, a female supplement company, alongside Jennifer O' Connell and Louise O'Riordan. She is very clear about the importance of that early support. "One of the best decisions I made when I began my entrepreneurial journey was joining the Back for Business programme. Having spent most of my career outside of Ireland, the programme provided not only structure and guidance, but also a collaborative community of ambitious founders." The largest student start-up programme in the country has been launched today in its 24th year. The Student Enterprise Programme, an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices, has seen over 500,000 students take part since it began. The Student Enterprise Programme, which is funded by the Government of Ireland through Enterprise Ireland and delivered by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices in local authorities throughout the country, saw over 30,000 students from almost 500 secondary schools across the country take part in 2024/2025. Participating students will compete across three categories, Junior (1st year), Intermediate (2nd and 3rd year) and Senior (4th, 5th and 6th year, LVA, LCA and Youth Outreach). Each student enterprise is challenged with creating, setting up and running their own business, which must show viable sales of their service or product. The best student start-ups from each school will then progress to county and regional finals. Students will then be chosen to be selected for the National Finals on the 7th May, where the Student Enterprise of the Year for 2026 will be named, along with winners across the other categories. Gareth Evans, Chair of the Enterprise Education Committee, Local Enterprise Offices, said, "The Student Enterprise Programme really highlights the appetite for entrepreneurship within our school system. In recent years, we have seen a steady increase in participation year on year. There have been some amazing start-ups come out of Ireland, punching well above their weight internationally, and I think this is helping to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs here. "Irrespective of what these students go on to do in their lives they will have learned some invaluable skills taking part in this programme that will help them in their future careers. We're looking forward to seeing what the Student Enterprise Programme Class of 2026 put forward!" The second Alumni Achievement Award for the Student Enterprise Programme will also be handed out in May. The award celebrates former programme participants who have gone on to achieve exceptional success in business. The inaugural award went to sisters Kate and Annie Madden from Fenu Health. Participants in the Student Enterprise Programme in 2016, the company creates supplements for equine health and their customers include five royal families. This year will also see a new award with a Start-Up Stories Competition. This competition is for Junior Cycle students only, and it asks them to imagine themselves as an entrepreneur at a future stage of their lives, having set up a business. Students are asked to write their fictitious story of how they became an entrepreneur, came up with their idea, got funding, overcame obstacles, lessons learned and skills they needed. The objective is to get students thinking and developing ideas around entrepreneurship. The Student Enterprise of the Year for 2025 was "Cannon PC" from Clonkeen College, Dun Laoghaire in County Dublin. The start-up, created by student Jack Cannon, built upcycled high-speed gaming PCs from old PCs being disposed of in office clear-outs and for general sale online. On November 21, an Indian Air Force Tejas fighter jet performing aerial manoeuvres at the Dubai Airshow crashed, killing its pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Syal. This is the second crash involving the indigenous aircraft in its 24-year history but the first to result in a fatality. The previous Tejas crash took place in Jaisalmer in March 2024 when the pilots ejected safely. La question n'est pas de savoir si le président sortant Umaro Sissoco Embalo va être réélu à l'issue de la présidentielle d'hier, mais s'il va être réélu dès le premier tour… En effet, pointe Le Monde Afrique, « Umaro Sissoco Embalo, 53 ans, est donné favori. S'il est réélu, il deviendrait alors le premier chef de l'Etat de Guinée-Bissau à effectuer deux mandats successifs depuis l'instauration du multipartisme, en 1994. Il a comme principal adversaire l'opposant Fernando Dias, qui a reçu le soutien du puissant PAIGC, l'ancien parti unique et principal parti d'opposition. Son chef, Domingos Simoes Pereira, n'a pu se présenter. Sa candidature a été rejetée par la Cour suprême, qui a jugé que son dossier avait été déposé trop tardivement. » Prolongations ? Alors, « l'outsider Fernando Dias peut-il compliquer la réélection d'Umaro Sissoco Embalo ? », s'interroge Jeune Afrique. « Présenté par ses adversaires comme “sans expérience notable“, Fernando Dias s'est pourtant imposé comme un redoutable outsider dans la dernière ligne droite de la présidentielle », note le site panafricain. L'opposant a en effet reçu le soutien du PAIGC. Mais reste à savoir s'il bénéficiera vraiment du report des voix de ce parti. Pour WakatSéra au Burkina Faso, les jeux ne sont pas forcément faits… « Si pour certains Umaro Sissoco Embalo a déjà… emballé la compétition, pour d'autres, le match est loin d'être fini et pourrait connaître des prolongations. Certes, le président sortant est donné favori, surtout en l'absence de challenger issu de l'historique et mythique PAIGC. Toutefois, le candidat indépendant, Fernando Dias, peu connu, jouit du soutien indéfectible et massif de la formation politique qui a porté l'indépendance (…). Toute chose qui continue de faire croire que la partie sera serrée entre Embalo et son adversaire. » Un boulevard ! Non, rétorque L'Observateur Paalga, toujours à Ouagadougou, « Umaro Sissoco Embalo s'est tracé un boulevard pour rebeloter. » « Un scrutin sans enjeu ni suspense », renchérit Le Pays. « Le président sortant a réussi le tour de force de remodeler le terrain électoral à son avantage, et de faire écarter les opposants les plus sérieux, avant même que la partie ne commence. (…) Ce scrutin présidentiel ressemble davantage à une chorégraphie scrupuleusement orchestrée par le pouvoir pour permettre au sortant de devenir le premier chef d'État à effectuer deux mandats successifs, depuis l'instauration du multipartisme en 1994 dans ce pays politiquement fragile et chroniquement instable. » À quand la stabilité et le développement ? En effet, rappelle Afrik.com, « depuis son indépendance en 1973, la Guinée-Bissau a connu quatre coups d'État réussis et plus d'une douzaine de tentatives, totalisant plus de deux décennies de régime militaire. (…) Et dans le pays, l'un des plus pauvres au monde où près de 40% de la population vit sous le seuil de pauvreté, la demande de changement est pressante. La Guinée-Bissau est classée 174e sur 193 au dernier indice de développement humain établi par le Programme des Nations-Unies pour le développement. L'espérance de vie n'est que 64 ans. Et nombre d'électeurs, note encore Afrik.com, expriment le souhait de voir enfin émerger stabilité et développement, à travers des investissements dans les infrastructures et les services publics. » Enfin, Ledjely en Guinée résume ainsi la situation : « dans ce contexte contrasté entre volonté populaire de stabilité et soupçons persistants sur l'équité du scrutin, la Guinée-Bissau joue une nouvelle fois une part essentielle de son avenir politique. Le véritable test sera moins dans le résultat que dans la manière dont celui-ci sera accueilli. Si le pays parvient à traverser cette séquence électorale sans heurts, il aura franchi une étape importante sur la voie de la consolidation démocratique. »
