Day 2/13 of the Yellow Sun Wavespell - Electric Moon 22 We celebrate an Electric day on Tuesday 10.11.21 - an Electric day in an Electric Moon in an Electric year. The Electric tone asks How can I best be of service? We should not be able to miss getting an answer on a day that is stacked in every calendar we currently follow with the synchronicities that will give you a clear indication. This is the last triumvirate of the Electric tone of Service for thirteen years. Don't make special plans, don't invest in certain actions - just be awake to the day and where it leads your mind, your body, your trajectory, your desires.
9.30.21 - Day 4/13 of the Blue Hand Wavespell - Electric Moon 11 Mercury Retrograde is a surrounding affirmation that per Mayan time we are back in the seat of Donald Trump's personal astrology. He is a Blue Electric Hand, and we have entered an epicentric orientation to both his tone and tribe as we move through the Electric Moon and the Blue Hand wavespell concurrently. It's worthy of our awareness simply because he is a historic figure. We're living through the indecency of his influence, one that will be recorded in textbooks to catalogue the cultural shift he instigated and the fervent resistance he inspired. The Blue Hand wavespell is also described as a time of Healing, which is not obvious with Trump as exemplar. But we can get farther than his own limitations will ever lead him - past thinking we know everything, beyond the fixation on accomplishment and being rewarded, lauded for it. We can get to the end result past these more egoic practices and find resolutions in our relationships, meeting of individuated minds, connection that is shown in the gesture of using our hands to reach out, touch, hold onto one another.
Joining us this week is German multi instrumentalist Dave Schmidt. He is a pillar in the modern psychedelic music scene: his projects Electric Moon, Zone Six, Krautzone, Intercosmos as well as his solo work - released under the name Sula Bassana - are essential listening for anyone looking to open their mind and reach the outer galaxies. His label Sulatron Records sits at the convergence of neo-psychedelic, krautrock, ambient electronic and progressive rock - in a normal year releasing a prolific amount of records for a one person operation. We discuss improvisation in heavy music, Dave's experience growing up in Berlin in the 1980s, playing in non-traditional venues such as the planetarium in Bochum where I first saw Electric Moon, his collaboration with Portuguese kosmische explorer Talea Jacta for Roadburn Redux, and what he's been up to with his numerous musical projects during the last year and a half. You'll find links to Dave's projects and label in the episode notes (below), as well as a killer video of Electric Moon performing at Freak Valley Festival in 2019. 9.18.21 - Day 5/13 of the White Wizard Wavespell - Lunar Moon 27 This is a White Wizard wavespell within a White Wizard wavespell. We forget that the largest wavespell we track - over 13 years - is also White Wizard. It began July 26, 2019 and has certainly ushered in enchantment and timelessness - the dark spell of Coronavirus and the time warp of quarantine. We revisit this grand larger cycle with a much smaller, condensed version, but you can let it lead you back to bigger picture perspectives. What began for you in the White Magnetic Wizard year? What challenges are you facing as identified by the last Blue Lunar Storm year? Now we are in the third year of 13, Yellow Electric Seed, and on the verge of amplifying its tone by entering the Electric Moon. We are discovering how we can best be of service in this long 13-year wave. Let the ascendency of White Wizard break the hard cycle of the last Lunar year, this Lunar moon that looms like a last gasp of all that challenge.

10.25.20 - Day 2/13 of the Red Moon wavespell * Self-Existing Moon 8 We're working our way through a task-driven Self-Existing Moon, a time when we are driven to itemize and take actions toward immediate accomplishment in support of the act of service we identified in the last Electric Moon. We can feel the year starting to surge in its waveform toward an escalating ascent. The Red Moon wavespell is about water, the journey water takes downhill and with gravity to join all the other rivers at the greatest oceanic basin. We are in that way more accommodating right now, fluid and apt to go with the flow, no longer - Yellow Warrior-style - fighting it.
10.11.20 - Day 1/13 of the Yellow Warrior wavespell * Electric Moon 22 It's the final week of the Electric Moon and the good news is the farther we move from the beginning of the year, the less staccato and frenetic are our lives. We slip into greater comprehension of the fate we've attracted from the Magnetic Moon and are adjusting to the challenges identified in the Lunar Moon. In the Electric Moon, a divine intervention starts to fill the void we feel, the overwhelm is also mitigated by contact with a spiritual presence. We have a certain amount of accomplishment already beneath us as we more steadily rise on this growing annual wave. The Yellow Warrior wavespell is charged with the intensity of a soldier-at-arms, but it's not a constant battle. It's preparation for battle, readiness and reconaissance, also moving to toward a peak moment when we will face conflict. We're heading for the the right fight, however - a cause for justice, a defense of the vulnerable - not cheap and marauding brute force.
10.6.20 - Day 9/13 of the Blue Night wavespell * Electric Moon 17 Trump continues to be topical in the Electric Moon of his birth tone, but imagine that this might be the swan song moment of world dominance or a fully exposed public reckoning. It's worth considering, too, that about 80 million people think he unfailingly is accomplished and of deep service to the country (the astrological implication of being Blue Electric Hand). Meanwhile, the mood of the Blue Night wavespell is dreamy and abundant. How are you seeing home/household at the center of your considerations right now? Your body that houses your soul? Your cash windfalls coming in for this brief 13-day spell are to be celebrated. Abundance is not an every day aspiration in Natural Time - but right now the human impulses of hoarding and greed is allowed berth and we can discernibly receive payouts that bring delight and a sense of fulfillment.

This week Craig stares down the barrel of “The Blue Scorpion” as he nears the end of the new Twilight Zone’s first season. Along the way he goes off half-cocked on a 20-gauge trip down memory lane, which may have been triggered (ha!) by second-hand TV smoke (hey, weirder things have happened up in here). He also tells the triumphant tale of one man’s endless quest for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award… which, as fate would have it, isn’t so endless at all. Listen first, ask questions later. If you’re looking for tunes to soothe your soul, look no further than Freedom Nicole Moore & The Electric Moon. With clear influences of soul, funk, and indie sounds in their music, this Cincinnati-based group with have you singing along in no time. That said, good luck matching the smooth warmth of frontwoman Moore’s voice. With introspective lyrics that are hard not to relate to, FNMTEM sings truth for the everywoman -- and man. Moore got her start singing background vocals for local acts, and claims she left a funk group because she didn’t have the vocal stylings they were looking for (big mistake on their part, if you ask us). Before forming the collective Electric Moon around her, she performed as a solo singer-songwriter under her previous name, Marisa Moore. With layered sounds of smooth funk and upbeat indie, the group sounds as if they’ve been playing together for decades. There’s no question: listening to this group will make you feel good. Set list: Everytime Pink Sugar - interview - Road Trip Your Friend Too Morning Mixed by Brian Niesz. Hosted by Emmalee Smith.
