What does it mean when someone hunts the "Red Moon"? Are they referring to the lunar eclipse phenomenon? Or is it something else? What does it mean when they say "overhead" or "underfoot"? Does that have anything to do with moon phase? In today's episode, Jacob is going to break down what is the red moon as it relates to whitetail deer hunting. And, he is going to help you understand the concepts of "overhead" and "underfoot". There are studies that suggest that the moon has no impact on deer movement. But, what does your hunt experience tell you? Thanks for listening! On this Solstice I express deep gratitude to a powerful soul, Sarah Magdalen, whose Temple of the Red Moon provides space for many souls to feel the depth of our current global situation and poly-crises. This podcast is attached to a playlist compiled for those born on December 19th And a few of my songs I want to share with Sarah. In closing, I dedicate the poem I wrote, “This Soulstice “inspired by my integration of the poly-crisis and the community that holds likeminded hearts every Monday in the Temple of the Red Moon."

This week, we're taking a broad look at the progress of America's Artemis lunar landing program, space science in general, and the challenges to Western space plans posed by a fast-rising Chinese space program. Joining us is the uniquely qualified Dr. Greg Autry--the Associate Provost for Space Commercialization and Strategy at the University of Central Florida, visiting Professor at Imperial College London, former NASA transition team member, and author of "Red Moon Rising." We'll also highlight the recent launch of SpaceX's Starship and the amazing catch of the booster by the Mechazilla Launch tower, Michael Bloomberg's recent article condemning the slow progress of the Artemis program, and this weekend's Orionids meteor shower! Headlines: - SpaceX's successful Starship flight test 5, featuring the Super Heavy booster's impressive catch by the "Mechazilla" tower - Michael Bloomberg's critical op-ed on the SLS rocket and the Artemis program, highlighting delays and overspending - The upcoming Orionids meteor shower, peaking on October 21st, 2024, and the Hunter's Moon, the biggest supermoon of the year Main Topic - The State of the US Space Program with Greg Autry: - Greg's lifelong passion for space was ignited by watching Apollo missions as a child; he later got involved in the commercial space industry and served on the NASA transition team in 2016 - US human spaceflight is in both the best and worst of times - there is bipartisan support for Artemis and returning to the Moon, but the program is behind schedule and over budget on almost every element - Lack of top-level political leadership and sense of urgency compared to the Apollo era is hurting Artemis' progress; the US needs a leader willing to provide direction and funding, and hold people accountable - Competition with China could help spur the US, but the public may not be as motivated as during the Cold War; still, it's important for the US to get back to the Moon first to initiate fair use of resources - Artificial intelligence will play a critical role in future space operations, especially on Mars and the Moon; AI can enable more flexible and capable spacecraft - The US needs to rebuild its aerospace manufacturing and production workforce to execute ambitious space goals; STEM education and hands-on skills are lacking - In 10 years, Autry hopes to see a diverse on-orbit ecosystem with compatible, specialized vehicles; regular Moon missions laying the groundwork for resource extraction; and an influential space tourism industry - He believes that a dual-track lunar architecture with both Starship and a more conventional system for redundancy would be wise; Starship is great but very complex with many potential failure points, especially in a lunar mission that requires multiple refueling flights and a crewed SLS launch in close timing - Greg is the Associate Provost for Space Commercialization and Strategy at the University of Central Florida and is standing up new academic programs to train the next generation of commercial space workforce - His book "Red Moon Rising" examines the history of the space industry, China's space ambitions, and the current state of play - an engaging read for anyone interested in space Get "Red Moon Rising": https://amzn.to/3YxmJab Hosts: Rod Pyle and Tariq Malik Guest: Dr. Greg Autry Download or subscribe to this show at https://twit.tv/shows/this-week-in-space. As we are coming upon a Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse, the eschaton or the time of the end is being encouraged because the leaders of the world want you think that to end the world would stop it from becoming any worse. Everything happening all at once gives the impression that someone or some group wants to nudge God into wrath by bringing forward ritualism that places us in the end times—signs, wonders and the numbers make it eerily synchronistic. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with prophecy teacher, Paul Begley and astronomy researcher, Dr. Sky about RED MOON DEAD PLANET.Originally Broadcast On 5/25/21Liking this episode? On todays podcast we BS about a few different topics with a couple standing out, like the Red Moon and Pauls take on staging areas and why he doesn't believe in them. Many objections to solar radiation modification (SRM)--such as the fear it could undermine other forms of climate action--have been overtaken by events, says The Ministry of the Future author Kim Stanley Robinson in this C2GTalk. The world is in a growing crisis, and cutting and removing emissions is taking too long. It's time to learn whether SRM can help, and how to govern it. Kim Stanley Robinson is an American science fiction writer. His books include the best-selling Mars trilogy, Red Moon, New York 2140, and The Ministry for the Future. He was part of the U.S. National Science Foundation's Antarctic Artists and Writers' Program in 1995 and 2016, and a featured speaker at COP-26 in Glasgow, as a guest of the UK government and the UN. Shortlisted for the Independent Podcast Awards 2023. In this episode I reflect on how important the setting is to our understanding and experience of artworks, and the responses we can feel in our bodies when artworks actively occupy space. I discuss the retrospective of the British artist Sarah Lucas at Tate Britain, the amazing installation Behind the Red Moon by Ghanaian artist El Anatsui at Tate Modern, and a dreamy little exhibition I saw by Korean artist Chun Kwang Young in Venice last year. The Gallery Companion is hosted by writer and historian Dr Victoria Powell. It's a thought-provoking dive into the interesting questions and messy stuff about our lives that art explores and represents. To see the images and watch the videos discussed in the podcast visit www.thegallerycompanion.com. This is where you can subscribe to The Gallery Companion email list, which goes out to accompany each new podcast episode, and is packed full of links to more info. That's where you can share your thoughts and join the conversation too. This is a public episode. Damn I had a blast. Parts of me want Kali to become a mega ultra outta orbit super star and I can just ride the wagon up like so many other fans of hers. There's also a part of me that would love for her to just stay at this level, but I don't really feel that's possible. How high can Kali go, to the moon? Loved the set, opened with munekita closed with telepatia and so many hits sprinkled in there. Loved every minute, totally fanboyed out while I was there. Loved the fireworks at the end of the set. Would've loved to go to Yaamava' to see her two nights in a row. All that and I got to hear blue la luz fue mejor, so many other songs. Back two back shows both excellent
