The first episode of a two part series, with contributors to Body Autonomy: Decolonizing Sex Work and Drug Use! In this conversation, Melodie and J share so many nuggets of wisdom and experience from the realms of sex work, drugs, gender, religion/spirituality, consent and altered states of consciousness. Melodie Garcia, MPA is the Co-Director for New Moon Network, an activist-led intermediary funder and capacity builder advancing sex workers' rights in the USA. Melodie is a published author, speaker, and nonprofit strategist with over 12 years of experience leading social justice projects ranging from direct services to advocacy to philanthropy. At the intersection of people, policy, research, and creativity is where you will find longtime sex worker J Leigh Oshiro-Brantly. As a multi-racial Ryukyuan non-binary trans person who has lived with disabilities, poverty, food/housing instability and violence, they have brought this experience to their research and advocacy. This episode has been a long time coming and after some technical difficulties during the first round and some major anxiety, I have gotten the group together to record this fantastic episode on what's happening in the east coast of the USA. You might've heard an earlier episode this season on the decriminalization front in Vermont with Misha Montana (Episode #170) and you can think of this episode as a response/part 2 continuation of that conversation. On today's episode, I invite David Mickenberg and Henri of the Ishtar Collective onto the show to speak about what collective efforts they have been working on towards pushing for decriminalization in Vermont. David is a political lobbyist who has had much experience lobbying for harm reduction and other related causes against marginalized groups in the state of Vermont. Henri's experience in advocacy in organizing spans across her time in various states. In this conversation, we speak about the landscape in Vermont -- what's happening with sex work, how has the public received it, and where they are receiving support. It's a riveting conversation (and a hopeful and progressive one too!). Henri - The Ishtar Collective (https://www.ishtarcollective.org/) David Mickenberg -

This week, we get to sit down and chat with a great friend of the show, PurpleChimera - archivist from the amazing Ishtar Collective team - about the presence of biases and how we should treat them. The team dives into a few strong examples of different styles of the literary tool found within the story of Destiny, as well as pulling back for a chance to look at some of the applications of the concepts discussed in reality. Be sure to let us know in the comments below your thoughts on this week's look at the story behind the stories that we normally discuss! Episode 27 (05/29/2016) - The Once and Future War Cult This week brings us to Part 3 of our look at the Factions of the City, which can only mean Future War Cult. Before we do though, we’re presenting this special episode covering the first four Ghost Fragment: Vex Grimoire entries. This series of entries is really the genesis of what we believe to be the modern Future War Cult, with its origins stretching back deep into the Golden Age of Venus and the research of the scientists of the Ishtar Collective. It’s a fascinating tale and it’s repercussions could reshape what we know of the Vex, the FWC, the Exo Stranger, the Device and so much more.
