Jessica Rhaye joins East Coast DNA host Darcy Walsh for a chat about her career in music, her new album, her band, and upcoming tour. With the release of Sunshine Baby, Jessica Rhaye's second album with The Ramshackle Parade, the New Brunswick-based singer/songwriter expands her reach as a lyricist and vocalist with a set of alternately personal and observational songs that manage to be incredibly intimate and cinematic in scope simultaneously. While Rhaye illuminates the darker corners of her world on some tracks, the album's lead single and title track makes it clear she's ever lost sight of the possibility for redemption and hope. Three-time Juno award winning singer-songwriter David Francey's musical world fell apart when he was told by his doctors that he must rest his voice. At the time, he was all set to head out on an extensive tour to promote his 2018 album "The Broken Heart Of Everything" which was also nominated for a Juno. David Francey joins us on Episode 462 of Folk Roots Radio to chat about having to take a break from singing, and how with a bit of help from his other creative outlet - his visual art, he was able to get through it. The good news is that David Francey will be back on the road this fall, though taking it a little easier as far as his touring schedule is concerned.
