The Kohathites were entrusted with transporting the most sacred objects of Israel's worship, yet they were forbidden from even looking at them. This seems counterintuitive to our results-driven world that demands immediate validation and visible fruit. Yet Scripture reveals a deeper reality—our lives are hidden with Christ in God, as Colossians 3:3 declares. This means God is doing ten thousand things in our circumstances while we may only be aware of three. The message challenges us to shift from living by validation to living by faith, from demanding that every seed we plant bear fruit tomorrow to trusting the One who holds all our tomorrows. We discover that our identity doesn't come from our assignments or accomplishments, but from being concealed in Christ. When the Father looks at us, He sees Jesus. This hidden life frees us from the exhausting burden of making our work carry the weight of our identity and allows us to serve faithfully even when we cannot see the harvest. Christmas is more than a story we tell—it's an announcement we're called to live. Luke 2:8-20 presents us with a profound truth: when angels appeared to shepherds proclaiming Christ's birth, they weren't just delivering information; they were inviting humanity into a transformed way of being. The announcement contains three revolutionary truths: God's glory has come near in Jesus Christ, God's peace is now present through the cross, and God's pleasure rests upon His people through faith. But here's the challenge—we cannot merely acknowledge these truths intellectually. The shepherds didn't just hear the message; they went, they saw, they believed, and then they returned to their ordinary fields transformed, glorifying and praising God. This is our calling too. We must receive the announcement before we can repeat it, reflect the message without trying to improve it, and return to our ordinary lives with extraordinary joy. The gospel doesn't need our embellishments or our best efforts to make it more appealing. It simply needs to be lived authentically through us. When we encounter the living Christ, everything changes—not our circumstances necessarily, but our response to them.
