Geoff Haxton, Rob Breaux and Jamie Lent bring you an exciting show on this Friday edition as Tech Football is 24 hours away. The guys share some college dorm experiences from their day. A little End of the Bench action on the Bottom Line as Hax has his highs and lows including Tech soccer taking down Kansas State on the road, Dallas Cowboys sneaking past the Giants in the Meadowlands, and more. Jamie's Question of the Day asks, "What is the toughest and easiest 3-game stretch for Texas Tech men's basketball?" Hax shares times where his first and last name have been mispronounced throughout his life. Jamie adds to that by sharing an encounter with a fan at a Bulls Mavericks game trying to get "John Paxson's" attention. Predictions are in for this coming college football week including the Red Raiders.
Nearly 37 years and counting. That's how long John Paxson has been with the Chicago Bulls in a variety of roles. He was part of three championship teams as a player and also hit a game winning shot to secure the third title. He also served as an assistant coach, radio analyst, general manager and team vice president. He helped rebuild a Bulls franchise with players such as Derrick Rose, Joachim Noah, Luol Deng and Kirk Heinrich but the first of three knee injuries to Rose crippled the Bulls chances of another title. After several more years as of trying to reshape the Bulls after Rose's injury, Paxson stepped down, accepting a role as an advisor to new team president Arturas Karnisovas.Paxson is one of the most open and honest people individuals on the Chicago sports landscape and he has planets of stories about his days with the Bulls, Notre Dame and growing up in basketball mad Dayton Ohio.“Tell me a story I don't know” is proudly sponsored by Rahl Jewelers on Barrington road in Hoffman Estates where you come in as customer and leave as a friend. On today's episode, Matt and Big Dave react to John Paxson's interview on the Gimme The Hot Sauce podcast, and break down where they think the Bulls starting 5 ranks among their Eastern Conference competition. Paxson joined Mark Schanowski and Stacey King to talk about his long career as a player and executive with the Chicago Bulls. We discuss some revised history in his comments. And where do Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, Patrick Williams and Nikola Vucevic fit among the best starting lineups in the East? Are they better than New York, Boston and/or Philadelphia? What about Miami and Atlanta?Call or text the show: (331) 979-1369Support us by supporting our sponsors! | Offers from our sponsors:SweatBlockGet it today for 20% off at SweatBlock.com with promo code LockedOn, or at Amazon and CVS.Rock AutoAmazing selection.
