We have a fun episode of The Dunker Spot coming your way! First, Nekias Duncan and Steve Jones put a bow on the NBA Finals! The New York Knicks, for the first time in 53 years, have won an NBA championship. The guys salute their journey, then give props to the San Antonio Spurs for their impressive year-one run. From there, the guys shift to the W as the Commissioner's Cup group play is nearing its end. They discuss the Las Vegas Aces' big win over the Minnesota Lynx to put them in the driver's seat out West, then salute the still-streaking New York Liberty for clinching a spot in the title game. Finally, they close with a mini-check in on the Los Angeles Sparks. Kelsey Plum is playing at an MVP level, and the defense is quietly making some strides. They've won their last three games; it might be time to keep a closer eye on them. Bad habits. Bad night. Bad optics. The Dallas Wings have been making steady improvements since their tight 4-point loss to the Minnesota Lynx back in May. Fans expected a hard-fought rematch—instead, they got a 24-point demolition.Minnesota didn't just beat Dallas; they dictated the exact terms of engagement. Using an aggressive, physical "Bully Ball" defense, the Lynx manipulated the intensity dial, broke the Wings' on-court communication, and forced a white-flag "Surrender Lineup" with over six minutes left in the fourth quarter.Even with Paige Bueckers calling for discipline and accountability postgame, other press conference events elevate this game from a bad night to a bad look. Luckily, the Wings have opportunities to respond coming up very soon.00:00 - Wings - Lynx Postgame sound bites01:56 - The Dallas Cowboys Minute: DeMarvion Overshown Get the Green Dot, Marist Liufau Gets Public Praise15:37 - Rules of Engagement: Setting the Tone for the Wings Autopsy17:53 - The Ugly Stats: Getting Dominated in the Paint26:10 - Postgame Sound: Coach Fernandez on the Defensive Collapse29:36 - The Throttle: How Minnesota Manipulated the Pacing35:09 - The PR Pivot: Cancelled Practice & The "Tail Tucked" Optics47:07 - Pace vs. Physicality54:55 - The "Surrender Lineup"59:56 - WNBA Fan Culture: Toxic Narratives & Protecting the Locker Room01:20:35 - Lynx Appreciation & Outro

The Chicago Sky are now 3-5 after losing four straight games at home, and frustration is starting to rise inside the locker room.On this episode of Chicago Sky Central, Haize & Stevo break down what is going wrong for the Sky after another rough loss to the Minnesota Lynx. Chicago has shown flashes on both sides of the ball, but the Sky have not been able to put together complete games. One night the offense scores 104 points but the defense gives up 111. The next game, the defense holds Minnesota under 80, but the offense fails to reach 60.The biggest issue? The Sky cannot buy a three-pointer.Chicago is shooting just 24.7% from three, dead last in the WNBA. Rachel Banham, the team's best shooter, is struggling through a career-low shooting stretch, and even when the Sky are generating open looks, the shots are not falling. Add in 18 turnovers against Minnesota, injuries to Rickea Jackson and Gabriela Jaquez, Azurá Stevens still being on a minutes restriction, and the roster being squeezed thin, and this team is officially facing its first major crisis of the season.Haize & Stevo discuss:

Renee Montgomery is the vice president and part owner of the WNBA team the Atlanta Dream. Before owning the team, Montgomery was a WNBA player on teams including the Atlanta Dream, the Minnesota Lynx, and the Connecticut Sun. Before that, she played division one college basketball at the University of Connecticut. After 11 years as a professional WNBA player, Montgomery opted out of the 2020 season to focus on social justice and activism before retiring from the WNBA in 2021.
