Kade also breaks some news on the show by revealing that he will be running full time on the CARS Tour in 2024 and running for rookie of the year honors!The inaugural GXS Street Stock Series season wrapped up Saturday at Tri County Speedway. Marlin Yoder went five for five this year with the poles and claimed his third straight series win of the season. Despite those efforts, Yoder was not able to claim the title. Gary Ledbetter opened the season with two wins and was able to win the overall points championship by 25 points. He joins us to talk about that, the future of the series, why he sold his treasured hot rod, if he would've taken himself to the rear for spinning a guy out, his thoughts on street stock racing as a whole and his plans for 2024.The guys give their analysis of the wacky CARS Tour Pro Late Model event. The Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour was a product of the USAR Hooters Cup Series that ran from 1997-2014. This year, the CARS Tour's annual throwback race from Hickory pays tribute to its roots with throwback paint schemes along with drivers from that era making appearances. Shane Huffman was one of the pillars of the original USAR Hooters Cup Series. The two time series champion won 28 races and 24 pole positions among many accolades. He joins us this week on the podcast to talk about his early days racing at Hickory Motor Speedway, his early struggles on the Pro Cup tour, earning his first win at New River All-American Speedway and obtaining sponsorship from Johnsonville Sausage and how big that was at the time. He discusses his first million dollar deal, how he found out he was replacing his friend at JR Motorsports and how he attracted the attention of Dale Earnhardt Jr in the first place.
