De Tweede Kamer steunt met een krappe meerderheid een motie van SGP en de groep-Markuszower voor verzachting van de geplande ingrepen in de AOW. Coalitiepartijen geven toe onder druk van oppositie, waarbij D66-fractievoorzitter Jan Paternotte bevestigt dat zijn partij het voorstel steunt. ‘Kijk hoe je het AOW-plan kan verzachten, vooral voor mensen met zware beroepen’, aldus Paternotte. Oppositiepartijen GroenLinks-PvdA, PVV en vakbond FNV vinden verzachting onvoldoende en zien het pensioenakkoord eenzijdig opengebroken worden. Hongarije blokkeert het twintigste sanctiepakket van de EU tegen Rusland en houdt de EU-lening van 90 miljard euro voor Oekraïne tegen. Volgens adviseurs van president Zelensky doet Hongarije dit deels door de doorvoer van Russische olie via de Droesba-pijpleiding te koppelen aan de blokkade. Met verkiezingen op komst in Hongarije blijft premier Orbán vasthouden aan een koers die Europese steun aan Oekraïne bemoeilijkt, terwijl Brussel alternatieve olievoorzieningen onderzoekt en juridische opties overweegt. Het OM is een strafrechtelijk onderzoek gestart naar de hack bij telecomaanbieder Odido, waarbij persoonsgegevens van naar schatting 6 tot 8 miljoen klanten zijn gestolen. Hackersgroep ShinyHunters heeft de aanval opgeëist en eist losgeld, anders worden de data openbaar gemaakt. Odido wijst erop dat een datalek niet automatisch recht geeft op compensatie, terwijl het OM zich niet uitlaat over de identiteit van de daders. Want, zo stelt hij: ‘Geloven is nadenken over het offer.' Dat is actueel, want we leven in een tijd waarin offers worden gevraagd. Wat hebben we ervoor over om ons te verdedigen tegen Rusland? En mag dat ook financiële offers vragen - denk aan de bezuinigingen die de nieuwe regering wil doorvoeren? Afgelopen maandagavond protesteerden meer dan duizend mensen in het Zuid-Hollandse dorp Nieuw-Lekkerland tegen de komst van een asielzoekerscentrum. Tegelijkertijd kwamen in kerken mensen samen om te bidden voor rust en barmhartigheid. De onenigheid over dit onderwerp trekt dwars door de vele kerkverbanden in dit christelijke dorp heen. Wat voor gevolgen heeft dit? Dat bespreekt Jan-Willem Wesselink met betrokken bewoners Folker Damsteegt en Ruben Hoogendoorn, en met SGP-gemeenteraadslid Corné Egas.

Hoe maak je als minderheid meerderheden? Jaap Jansen en PG Kroeger analyseren het debat over de kabinetsformatie. In Den Haag moet iedereen nog even wennen aan een nieuw tijdperk. Aanstaand minister-president Rob Jetten was vooral trots op zijn coalitieakkoord en vond echte handreikingen nog wat te vroeg. De oppositie bleek verdeeld. Niet alleen tussen links en rechts, maar ook daarbinnen. Informateur Rianne Letschert was de enige factor die unisono waardering kon oogsten. Sterker: zij ontketende bij de SGP een Culturele Revolutie waarbij die van Mao verbleekt. Geen vuurwerk en sluwe manoeuvres, maar machteloos dystopisch proza. Zijn vakantievriend Gidi Markuszower releveerde dat hij als grootste niets voor elkaar had gekregen. Jetten bespotte zijn hoge toon over ondermijning van de democratie en de toeschouwer dacht er meteen bij: juist vanwege gebrek aan democratie in eigen kring moet deze criticus zelf vrezen voor een partijverbod. De linkerzijde spiegelde de rechterzijde. Onderlinge solidariteit was ver te zoeken. Men nam elkaar de maat. Zo kon het CDA het 'midden’-karakter van het akkoord extra etaleren. SP, DENK en Partij voor de Dieren gispten GroenLinks-PvdA, Volt, ChristenUnie en 50Plus als watjes zonder ruggengraat. “Geen oppositie maar shoppositie”, smaalde Jimmy Dijk (SP). Aan de andere kant gunden PVV, JA21, Groep-Markuszower, FvD, BBB en SGP elkaar evenmin succes. De deconfiture van Wilders bood de anderen kans op extra relevantie. Fundamentalopposition joeg de gematigde partijen meer en meer in de armen van Jettens verbond. Tegenover Annabel Nanninga van JA21 keerde Jetten zich met een variant op Merkels 'Wir schaffen das' af van het xenofobische discours en zo de constructieve krachten rond zich te scharen. 115 Tweede-Kamerleden stemden voor zijn benoeming tot formateur - 49 meer dan de 66 van zijn coalitie. 27 meer dan waar Schoof bij zijn start op rustte. Alleen PVV, FvD, Denk, PvdD en SP stemden tegen. Gedurfd was de wijze waarop de aspirant-premier coalitiepartner VVD dwong het massief falen van Schoof en de nu voor het kabinet-Jetten noodzakelijke reparaties daarvan te slikken. Voor Dilan Yesilgöz gold: wie zwijgt, stemt toe. De reeks thema's was lang en van strategische betekenis. Van de schade aan Neêrlands goede naam wereldwijd tot aan de kennissector. Van het stikstofslot tot de EU-afdracht, van het zorginfarct tot de dure chaos in de asielketen. Uitsmijter was een symbolisch, schurend punt. De VVD deed heel dik over haar weldaden voor 'de middenklasse', maar wie precies rekende zag iets heel anders. Bij de zorgkosten worden belangrijke aspecten nadrukkelijk 'inkomensafhankelijk' gemaakt. Mark Rutte moest in 2012 zwichten voor de woede van zijn partij en De Telegraaf bij net zo'n deal met de PvdA. ‘Marx Rutte’ als verrader van het VVD-liberalisme! Het heftigst waren de meningsverschillen over de vergrijzingskosten en de gevolgen voor de AOW na 2033. Een ondoordachte tactiek liet Jesse Klaver een vrijwel zekere overwinning alsnog ontglippen. ASX 200 started strong but wobbled ahead of CPI and ended down 8 points to 8934 (0.1%) after CPI nudged higher. Now a 70% chance of a rate rise next week. Most sector of the market slid, Banks off slightly, ANZ down 0.5% and the Big Bank Basket unchanged at $268.50. MQG dropped 1.1% with insurers also weaker, QBE down 1.2% and ZIP came undone, off 4.0%. REITs also under pressure with GMG off 1.1% and SGP falling 0.9%. Industrials pretty weak across the board, WES down 0.7%, ALL off 2.8% and COL and WOW slipped. Tech was again smashed with WTC off 3.8% and XRO falling again. The All-Tech Index dropped 2.8%. Healthcare also saw sellers, RMD down 2.1% and CSL down 1.2%.It was a different story in resources, BHP up 1.7% again, RIO doing well too and gold miners finding buyers again as bullion pushed above $5200. Silver miners also in demand, uranium glowing red hot, no fall out here with PDN up 5.4% and BMN soaring 17.1%. STO and WDS showed a clean pair of heels as crude rose. STO the standout up 3.0%. In corporate news, AUB fell 4.7% after its acquisition and capital raise.
