We don't spend too much time on this subject but do highlight the criticisms around the current state of F1 that were on full blast this weekend with the downsides of the current regulations being exposed with the layout of Spa.Alex Palou does it again and pulls a win out of nowhere at Nashville after dominant Penske performances by Malukas and McLaughlin for most of the race. Fortunate timings of mid-race cautions allowed Palou to jump up front and then he was able to hold off not one, not two, but three Penske cars in the final stint of the race. Palou extends his championship lead over Malukas as they enter a week break before the start of the gauntlet begins out west at Portland. We touch on IMSA at Mosport and WEC at Interlagos as we were away last week to review them.Logano wins at North Wilkesboro in Cup.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR is at the Brickyard and F1 is at Hungary.

The group also dives into Josh Berry's abysmal season, and why the results don't represent the talent level that Josh possesses. Is there enough time left in the season for Josh to prove himself for a Cup ride in 2027 and beyond? On this episode of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin, Denny explains why the No. 22 team had the car to beat, what separated Logano from the rest of the field, and why his performance was a sign of things to come at a track like North Wilkesboro Speedway. He also breaks down his own battle with Logano, the moment he thought the No. 22 might be vulnerable, and the late-race strategy call that nearly changed the outcome. The NASCAR Cup Series returned to North Wilkesboro for its first points-paying race in 30 years, and the crew dives into everything from the racing throughout the field to Carson Hocevar's battle with Denny, pit road chaos involving Alex Bowman, Tyler Reddick, Kyle Larson, and Connor Zilisch, and whether North Wilkesboro delivered the type of racing fans want to see. After 30 years, North Wilkesboro was home to a points-paying Cup Race. Joey Logano finally got into victory lane after dominating the race. Logano is now above the cutline for the Chase and Jordan thinks this will help him get in the Chase. Another driver who had a great night was SVG who had 47 points and is 54 points above the cutline. The race on Sunday was under three hours, but did it really need to be 450 laps? And, just how good was the race? Penske won for the second week in a row,.JGR was fast as usual. But, things didn't go as well for HMS. With the help of a bad timing caution for Chase Elliott, Todd Gilliland was able to pull off the upset and advance in the In-Season Tournament Championship. He will have to pull off another upset and beat Ryan Blaney at the Brickyard to win a million dollars. Denny Hamlin finished second and extended his points lead. Is this his year, or will bad luck strike him again? With Logano moving above the cutline and Austin Cindric in 16th, can anyone knock them out? Or is the only driver those below the cutline can beat is SVG? More practice is coming, but is it needed, and who will benefit the most from it? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits down with a legendary figure behind the scenes of motorsports, longtime car owner and sponsor Mike Curb. After falling in love with motorsports at an early age through the pages of Motor Trend and National Speed Sport News, Mike made the acquaintance of Cary Agajanian at an early age and began taking in races at the famed Ascot Park. Mike pursued an interest in music and when a song he wrote became a jingle for Honda, he dropped out of college and pursued commercial soundtracking full time. Mike simultaneously developed a recording company and a career in politics at the suggestion of Ronald Reagan, but his love for auto racing remained tried and true. He entered business with Agajanian owning local sprint cars, and the Curb-Agajanian Performance Group was born.Mike's entry into involvement in NASCAR is a fascinating tale that stems from longtime NASCAR executive Les Richter serving as a chairman on his campaign for Lieutenant Governor of California. At Les' request, Mike and his wife attended the 1980 Cup season opener at Riverside as Grand Marshall and it was there that he was propositioned with the idea of becoming a sponsor for Dale Earnhardt. Mike also explains the events that lead to Curb Racing fielding a car for Richard Petty in 1984 and how the famed picture of Ronald Reagan landing at the Daytona 500 came to be. The interview covers Mike's vast involvement in racing today, which includes co-ownership of NASCAR Truck championship winner Ty Majeski, his relationship with Ronald Reagan and his career in the music industry.

But it wasn't easy thanks to a crash in practice, a restart penalty, and a speeding penalty. In the Cup Series, it was Joey Logano collecting his third championship. When it comes to the current Playoff format, the 22 team has written the book on how to succeed. The only car that could hang with Logano was his teammate Ryan Blaney, who ran out of laps to try and pass Logano.Team Penske has won the last 3 championships and it has left HMS, JGR, and others wondering what they have to do to find speed at Phoenix. The guys take a look at the current Playoff and discuss changes that could be made to make it better. NASCAR is headed to Phoenix for the championship finale but before that happens, Steve Letarte and the guys react to all the craziness that happened last weekend at Martinsville. Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney and William Byron are racing for a championship, but that doesn't mean they are the four favorites according to the Professor. His model only has Blaney and Byron in Tier 1. The other drivers at the top are Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. While Bell isn't racing for a championship the guys think he is the odds-on favorite to win.Reddick is the lowest driver of the Championship 4 contenders, sitting in Tier 3. Logano sits in Tier 2 but having two weeks to gameplan for this race could help him. However, Tampa Timms has his eyes on Logano and Reddick top-5 bet. The guys then guess what Vegas has for average finishing position for: Harrison Burton, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Daniel Suarez, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Cindric. The best bet on the board is a two-way bet. Bet Bubba top-10 at +250 and over average finishing position of 14.5.The guys also handicap the champ 4 for Xfinity and trucks. And, last but not least in the Degenerate 4 Pack this week is:                Texas team total over 29.5 vs Florida                Indiana -6.5 vs Michigan                Eagles -6.5 vs Cowboys                Lions -3.5 vs Texans For more content head to our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DirtyMoDough

Denny Hamlin is joined by co-host Jared Allen after an interesting end to the race in Richmond on Sunday night.Denny explains why he wasn't mad about restarting third on the final restart and he was expecting a wreck. Once Joey Logano was wrecked by Austin Dillon, Denny thought the checkered flag was his. Dillon ended up right-hooking Denny and while some claimed Denny went up the track, he says the SMT data shows Dillon hooked him.Denny is now calling on NASCAR to make the tough call and enforce the rules.Dillon's spotter was animated at the end and Denny wasn't a fan of how he handled himself. The guys also discuss what the penalty should be for Dillon if given one considering a points penalty or money really doesn't change much. If no penalty is handed down, does this mean it's open season for drivers to wreck people going forward? And what stops anyone from wrecking someone to win the championship in Phoenix? The format of "win and you're in the Playoffs" didn't help prevent this incident either. And, should one win punch a driver's ticket to playoffs or does the format need changed? The integrity of the sport is on the line depending on what NASCAR decides to do, especially since Dillon wrecked not one but two drivers to win the race.Logano made it known on pit road he wasn't happy with Dillon, but Denny doesn't see a fine coming to him for what he did.Plus, NASCAR had option tires for the first time and Denny thinks they need to use those tires full-time on short tracks. In other NASCAR news, 23XI has a third driver coming up at Wakins Glen and Corey LaJoie is out a Spire after this year. For more Actions Detrimental content head over to our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@ActionsDetrimental
