Somehow that leads to confessions about demolishing boxes of Lucky Charms and Corn Pops, including the dangerous cycle of adding cereal because you have leftover milk, then adding milk because you have leftover cereal, until the box is empty and you're sitting alone with your shame.This is the nutritional guidance you expect from The Rizzuto Show.Then comes the final pair of Rush tickets.Kyle chooses Lern and Devon, setting up an alleged generational showdown between a 41-year-old and a 30-year-old. Things immediately become catastrophic.“Name a superhero.”Superman.Wonder Woman.Oh no.“Name a Disney animated movie.”The Little Mermaid.Bambi.OH NO.At this point, Kyle is watching his Rush tickets disappear in real time while Patient Zero starts sniffing around the wreckage.But then something happens.Monopoly.Netflix.Instagram.Three straight matches.THE COMEBACK IS COMPLETE.Kyle is going to Rush, Lern and Devon have successfully bridged the generational divide, and feminism survives another morning.This daily comedy masterpiece could have ended there, but Candlebox still needs somebody to believe in them.Justin chooses Rizz and Devon for the final game, with Candlebox tickets waiting at the finish line. They match immediately on guitar. Then rock. Things are looking suspiciously competent.Naturally, it cannot last.Asked to name a famous rock band from the 1980s, Devon goes with Mötley Crüe while Rizz lands elsewhere, launching an argument over what exactly qualifies as an “'80s band” and whether Rush counts just because Moving Pictures came out in 1981.Then comes the holiday-song disaster.Devon chooses Mariah Carey's “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”Rizz chooses “Jingle Bells.”Suddenly we're debating whether the most obvious Christmas song is determined by history, kindergarten classrooms or how aggressively Mariah Carey emerges from hibernation every November.It all comes down to one final question:Name something you find on a desk.The obvious possibilities are endless. Computer. Stapler. Tape dispenser. Mouse.Rizz and Devon?Pen.LAMP.“There will be no Candlebox today.”Brutal.Along the way, the crew also defends Candlebox's honor, remembers their early Pointfest days, argues about cereal, discusses the Raygun breakdancing documentary, makes questionable winter-activity suggestions and repeatedly proves that knowing someone for years does not mean you have any clue what word is about to come out of their mouth.That's the beauty of “Just the Two of Us.” The questions aren't difficult. S2E10 Gotta Catch 'Em All (Bird Pokémon) We recorded this Episode in July and I just haven't gotten around to the edits until now. Chris and I FINALLY sit down to discuss Ruby and Sapphire on the Gameboy Advance. I personally didn't play these games so it was great to get Chris' insight into the new aspects they added into the games, as well as the overall impression of them.   Because I am editing this so much later than the recording, I didn't want to delay things further by adding in a "Checkpoint" section. I'll add the notes here instead: - Chris is correct and Pokémon Crystal was the first game to allow you to be a female protagonist. - Pokémon Contests are really confusing. I feel like my questions didn't totally clear up the process. You enter a Pokémon of your choice into a specific Contest (Cool, Beauty, Tough, etc.). A Pokémon's moves have a specific clearly labeled contest stat and when you use it, the judge and audience reaction derives a score. Different aspects of a Pokémon (like Nature) gave them a starting advantage in the contests along with...Pokeblocks?! While digging into this some more, the contests were quite complicated and confusing for many players. That's the gap gamification is built to close.The Four Player Types on Every Sales TeamSindre borrows a framework from game theory to describe four types of sales reps: killers, achievers, explorers, and socialites.Killers are driven by being number one and seeing their name at the top of the leaderboard. Contests started on a Wednesday consistently outperform ones started on a Monday, since early-week motivation has usually faded by midweek.Shorter is better. Month-long contests tend to create a "valley of disengagement," with excitement in week one, a dead middle, and a scramble at the end. One-day sprints create urgency without the letdown.Change the format so more than the top performer has a real shot. A lottery-style contest, where every meeting booked or deal closed earns a ticket, gives the middle of the pack a genuine "I might actually win this time" feeling.Get Creative: Pairing, Envelopes, and the White Elephant GamePairing a high performer with a lower performer on a team-based contest naturally creates coaching and mentorship, without ever calling it that.Simple physical mechanics work too: envelopes on a wall that reps can pick from after hitting an activity, some holding a dollar, some holding a bigger prize.Sindre's favorite: a white elephant style game where prizes range from real rewards to silly forfeits, and reps can steal from each other until the contest ends, creating genuinely memorable moments on the floor.The Recognition Stat That Proves the PointSindre shared data from a 153-person sales team where they measured how often each rep received recognition in a month.The 37 reps who received the least recognition averaged 62 percent quota attainment. The team average was 107 percent.Recognition and quota attainment move together closely enough that Sindre treats recognition frequency as a leading indicator, not just a nice-to-have.Where to Start as a New Sales LeaderSindre's starting point for anyone new to this: interview your top performers and find out what they actually do every day, not just what the official process says they should do.Frequently, top performers are doing things nobody explicitly asked them to do, or doing an already-known behavior far more consistently than everyone else.Cross-check those behaviors against the rest of the team.
