Door Bumper Clear returns from Bristol Motor Speedway after the NASCAR Cup Series Round of 16 cutoff race. Cup Series driver Justin Haley joins his spotter Brett Griffin, along with T.J. Majors and Freddie Kraft to talk about his 12th-place finish and working with Brett. To start Spot On, Spot Off, NASCAR didn't throw a caution for Brad Keselowski but threw one quickly for Christopher Bell late on Saturday night. T.J. breaks down what happened to the No. 6 car and why neither incident warranted a caution. Next, the guys discuss Denny Hamlin's tweet about needing an improved Next Gen car. Haley talks about how the rules limit teams being able to make improvements and how Kaulig Racing compares to bigger organizations personnel-wise. Hear whether the spotters agree with Hamlin and why the short track product is struggling. Brandon Jones didn't move Noah Gragson for the Xfinity Series win at Bristol, the week after announcing he's taking over the No. 9 next season. Jones said that didn't cross his mind once during the race and the crew reacts to the finish. They explain the points opportunity Jones missed and why he should have won the race. Richard Childress Racing announced Kyle Busch to the No. 8 car next season and how they plan to run Tyler Reddick in a third charter next season. The guys theorize why RCR isn't planning to have Reddick drive for them next year and what his 2023 may look like. Finally, NASCAR released the 2023 Cup schedule eight weeks before the end of the season despite only making two track changes. Brett explains how this puts the teams' sponsorship discussions at a disadvantage and what other changes they would have liked to see. In Reaction Theatre, fans call in about South Carolina losing to Georgia, celebrating Chris Buescher's win and a song about Noah Gragson throwing up. Later in the show, the gang makes playoff predictions for the Round of 12 in the Cup Series and why one driver stands out as the Xfinity Series title favorite. Phil and Josh return for E134 of the GSP to discuss the busy motorsports weekend along with NFL Week 1 - two words: phe nom in al...Darrell "Bubba" Wallace won his second career Cup Series race at Kansas locking the No.45 team into the second round of the Cup Owner Points playoffs.  Issues for the likes of Kevin Harvick and pole sitter Tyler Reddick leave them on the outside looking in with Bristol Night Race cutoff looming.  For Reddick, further news surrounds his situation since Kyle Busch's announcement joining RCR took place after recording. Noah Gragson won for the fifth time in 2022 in a rain-shortened XFinity race at Kansas.  During recording, the cutoff stood at 13 points between Sheldon Creed and Ryan Seig on the bump.   However, Jeremy Clements appeal was heard and his win was reinstated.  For the Trucks, John Hunter Nemechek won for the 2nd time in 2022 at a crucial point in his career, making a last-lap pass on Carson Hocevar who was trying to back into the Round of 8.  Hocevar and three-time champion Matt Crafton were eliminated with Bristol on the horizon. IndyCar crowned Will Power as a two-time champion after he broke the pole record long held by Mario Andretti the day before.  Josef Newgarden was left to wonder about his season after winning five times and coming from tail back as Rusty would say to finish second on Sunday.  Alex Palou took a dominant victory in his final race as champion, with further news coming during the week regarding where he and Felix Rosenqvist will drive in 2023.  The guys covered other key news items that were in play prior to recent announcements.  Formula 1 saw controversy regarding the end of the race yet again at Monza but Max Verstappen continues to win.  Charles Leclerc and George Russell started on the front row after grid penalties were assessed, but the Red Bull driver is on a different level this season.  Nyck De Vries made his F1 debut in relief of Alex Albon and scored points for the Williams team, which probably signals where they will be going for their second seat in 2023.  The Roundup covered F2/F3 at Monza, WEC at Fuji Speedway, WSBK in Magny Cours, Supercars at Pukekohe, NHRA at Maple Grove for their playoff opener and MotoGP/Moto2 at Aragon before Phil and Josh gave their thoughts on NFL Week 1 for their respective actual and fantasy teams.  The guys previewed and made picks for the Bristol Tripleheader weekend before Josh's Sim Segment and Show Close.

The final race of the first round is this weekend. Who wins, and who gets eliminated? The All-Star race is moving to North Wilkesboro. Mitch explains what this track needs to do to make it a more enjoyable fan experience. Which track should get two races, and which ones should be dropped from the schedule? It's winner's week on Door Bumper Clear as Freddie Kraft celebrates Bubba Wallace's victory at Kansas Speedway with Brett Griffin, T.J. They discuss Noah's fifth win of the year, a prank war with former crew chief Dave Elenz, working with crew chief Luke Lambert, moving to the Cup Series next year, his not always so serious approach off the track and how he started racing. To begin Spot On, Spot Off, the Xfinity Series race restarted with two laps to go in Stage 2 despite reports of rain. The guys debate if the track conditions were safe to make it to halfway and talk about a certain spotter and driver that didn't want it to see go green. Next, the guys discuss the 15 points separating 10th through 15th place in the playoff standings heading into the Bristol Motor Speedway cutoff race. Find out if they think another non-playoff driver can win and how aggressively drivers below the cutoff line need to race. Gragson shares his input on how he expects Bristol to race with the new car and how aggressive playoff drivers might be. Kyle Busch reportedly signed with Richard Childress Racing for next season. The crew applauds RCR's signing, questions the future of Kyle Busch Motorsports, and theorizes where Tyler Reddick will race next year. Then, the gang talks about North Wilkesboro Speedway hosting the All-Star race in 2023. They predict how quickly the race will sell out and discuss FOX wanting the race's location to rotate. Plus, Brett shares his insight on when the 2023 schedule will be released and what tracks could be losing races. Kevin Harvick sounded off on drivers safety concerns with the Next Gen car at Kansas. Gragson explains why he applauds Harvick being outspoken, details crashes he's had in the car this season, and talks about how his concerns about wrecking are impacting his performance. Door Bumper Clear is back from the dramatic Daytona International Speedway Cup Series playoff cutoff race weekend. Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft begin the show talking about T.J. Majors missing the start, Brett cursing on the broadcast, drivers taking hard hits, and more. First topic in Spot On, Spot Off, the guys discuss Kurt Busch forfeiting his playoff waiver ahead of the race at Daytona. They talk about how that affected the last playoff spot race between Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex Jr. and how it put Toyota at a disadvantage.  Next, NASCAR says they couldn't have done anything differently before the field wrecked because of rain in Turns 1 and 2. They explain why NASCAR should have thrown the caution before the cars entered Turn 1 and how close the rain was to the track. Kevin Harvick argued he was ahead of Austin Dillon when the caution was thrown and should have been listed as the leader during the red flag. The crew debates if NASCAR should have considered him involved in the wreck causing him to forfeit his running spot. They then explain why NASCAR waited out a lengthy rain delay for the final 20 laps and why it mattered for the integrity of the playoffs. Was Austin Dillon's winning move on Austin Cindric fair or foul? The guys debate and react to Tyler Reddick's being the ultimate teammate at the finish. Ryan Blaney is in the playoffs while Martin Truex Jr. is out. What went right for Blaney but wrong for Truex, and what does it say about the 2022 season? The guys share their thoughts on a regular season filled with winners. In Reaction Theatre, fans voice their opinions about Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch's future, and Brett swearing on TV. Door Bumper Clear is back from a weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Brett Griffin, Freddie Kraft and T.J. Majors bring on a long-awaited special guest and Freddie's boss, Denny Hamlin. The guys react to the chaotic NASCAR Cup Series race, discuss Hamlin's team being transparent about their Pocono disqualification, and hear stories from racing late models with T.J. To begin Spot On, Spot Off, the table talks about Ross Chastain being penalized for using the turn one access road to take the lead from Tyler Reddick on the final restart. Hamlin admits whether or not he would have done the same move and debates with the spotters if NASCAR made the rules clear enough. Next, several drivers aggressively overdrove Turn 1 throughout the race on restarts causing numerous spin-outs. Brett explains why drivers were making aggressive moves and which ones were the main culprits. Hamlin chimes in about the level of respect being shown by all drivers on the track right now. Richard Childress compared how Kevin Harvick left the team versus how Tyler Reddick plans to depart after their victory on Sunday. Hear from Hamlin himself how the process of courting and signing Reddick went, and his thoughts on how RCR has reacted. Kyle Busch says he would take less money or a shorter contract to stay with Joe Gibbs Racing. The gang discusses what that means for Busch's future and the current driver contract and salary climate. Hear why Cup Series drivers make less money today, what factors have contributed to that, and what needs to change moving forward. Hamlin has been vocal about race teams earning a more fair split of the next television contract. The guys react to NASCAR president Steve Phelps' comments about media rights negotiations and Hamlin discusses his meeting with Marcus Smith and Justin Marks. Learn why teams need a larger portion of the rights money and how it can benefit the sport overall. Finally, they debate whether the Michigan race could put on a better show having a similar aero package to Atlanta. Hamlin talks about why he thinks the cars are still going too fast for that style of racing to work and predicts how much longer Atlanta can race like a superspeedway. In Reaction Theatre, fans coin John Hunter Nemechek a new nickname, react to Ross Chastain cutting through the access road, and perform a song for Denny. In Ask DBC, the guys discuss which Indianapolis layout NASCAR should run moving forward and who Hamlin would choose as his spotter among the three guys. Later, hear which drivers Hamlin gives his ‘What an Idiot' award to and he answers whether or not Chastain can expect more payback. A weekend in New England left Brett Griffin, Freddie Kraft and TJ Majors with lots of stories to tell. After two eventful races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and a busy week of silly season news, the crew reacts to everything that went down. First, find out how Brett learned some Boston slang and why payment was required to spot the modifieds. Then the guys dive into Spot On, Spot Off. First, they discuss Martin Truex Jr.'s decision to take two tires during the last pit stop which cost him the win and placed the No. 19 team on the playoff cutoff line. Now given Christopher Bell as the 14th different winner this season, they talk about how many drivers they expect to see win before the playoffs begin. Brad Keselowski and Austin Dillon swerved at each other and made contact under caution on Sunday. T.J. talks about what led Keselowski to retaliate against Dillon and what each of them said in their post-race interviews. Tyler Reddick announced he signed with 23XI Racing for the 2024 season last week. The spotters applaud Reddick for his move but share their displeasure about Richard Childress Racing's actions. While the timing of the announcement seemed strange, find out why 23XI needed to share the news first. Afterwards, they talk about who could race in the No. 8 car next. Ty Dillon will not return to Petty-GMS Racing after this season and the crew doesn't find this surprising. Hear about who is the leading candidate to drive the 42 car next year and why they would be the most interesting Cup driver in the field. Next, NASCAR did not penalize Christopher Bell's team for losing a wheel coming off pit road last week at Atlanta. The guys express their frustration towards NASCAR making a judgment call and why the penalty needs to have stricter guidelines for what is and isn't a penalty. Finally, producer Jason Schultz reads Joey Logano's comments on Next Gen crashes. The spotters talk about NASCAR's confusion between what the drivers say about hits and what their data shows compared to the previous car. In Reaction Theatre, find out why Jesse Iwuji may now see the light, the guys learn about Austin Dillon's TV show, and Jeb is back with a song. #AskDBC returns in the Offerpad question of the week segment and in What an Idiot, learn about the embarrassing incident at Bowman Gray. Door Bumper Clear is back from celebrating the Fourth of July weekend at Road America to break down the road course weekend in Wisconsin. Brett Griffin, T.J. Majors and Freddie Kraft first discuss how they celebrated America's birthday this past Monday and offer DBC host Casey Boat an opportunity to try her hand at spotting. To begin Spot On, Spot Off, the spotters talk about Tyler Reddick outdueling Chase Elliott to earn his first Cup Series win. They highlight Reddick's growth since his Xfinity Series titles and the possibility of him leaving Richard Childress Racing at the end of 2023. Sunday's Cup race did not have a naturally-occurring caution and was one minute shorter than the Xfinity Series race. The guys talk about the drivers' road course skills and how cautions for stage breaks are hurting the on-track product. Could stage breaks one day be eliminated on road courses? The crew debates. Contact between Noah Gragson and Sage Karam during the Xfinity Series race caused a multi-car pileup. The gang breaks the drivers' comments after the race and if NASCAR should have penalized Gragson for the incident. Ty Gibbs passed Kyle Larson on the final lap to earn his fourth win of the year. The guys give credit to Gibbs for showing maturity racing against the reigning Cup Series champion and not needing to pull a bump-and-run move on him. No driver in the Cup Series has three wins after the first 18 races for the first time in history. Hear the crew's thoughts on how many more different winners they think will surface before the playoffs and if any drivers will be able to point their way in. Finally, the guys weigh in on Formula One driver George Russell's comment about fans not having the right to boo drivers. The guys discuss why Russell needs to have thicker skin and fans might not be booing because they don't like him as a driver. Finally in Reaction Theatre, fans call about the Noah Gragson and Sage Karam incident, Jesse Iwuji's run, and celebrating Reddick's first win.      Thank you to our presenting sponsor Offerpad and partners Xfinity and RacingUSA.com for making this show possible.
