The DBC gang is back in studio after a LONG wreck-filled Cup Race in the Irish Hills of Michigan, this time with a pair of 23XI Racing teammates in Bubba Wallace and Riley Herbst. The episode starts with a recap of both drivers' weekends, followed by some high praise for Riley Herbst from Bubba Wallace for the teammate he's been. The group talks about Cleetus McFarland's performance in the ARCA and Trucks race, the difference between racing both vehicles, and what Ford seems to be missing from a lackluster performance in their own backyard. Plus, Bubba Wallace opens up about what it's like to race around Carson Hocevar, his post-race conversation with The Hurricane that had social media buzzing, and how there's a difference between racing hard and racing stupid. The group debates if Denny Hamlin will retire at the end of next season, their Mt. Rushmore of NASCAR drivers, who is at fault for the massive wreck on the restart of the Cup race, and much more. As always, Reaction Theatre brings the laughs, followed by S*** Show HOF and Ask DBC. Plus, Freddie shouts out all of the weekend winners from around the country. Want more DBC? Jeff Dorman on why Strategy's four stakeholder classes are all losing, and why Saylor should have sold $2B of Bitcoin at once instead of $2.5M. ======================================================== Thank you to our sponsor! Fidelity: Explore opportunities at https://crypto.fidelitycareers.com ======================================================== Strategy's late-May Bitcoin sale has turned a long-running investor concern into a sharper question: how sustainable is the company's capital structure if its Bitcoin accumulation strategy now comes with large cash obligations? Jeff Dorman, chief investment officer at Arca, joins Laura Shin to discuss why the sale changed his view of the risks around Strategy. After months of pushing back on fears of forced selling, Dorman says the company's preferred-share financing has altered the analysis. He points to roughly $15 billion in preferred shares carrying 10% to 12% dividend rates, which he estimates could mean about $1.7 billion in annual cash obligations for a company without operating revenue. Dorman also breaks down the stakeholder groups shaping Strategy's choices, the tradeoffs each path may create, and the Polymarket dispute over whether Strategy sold Bitcoin in May. A college class gets interrupted by one of the best calls a young driver can receive: “Can you race this weekend?” We sit down with Andrew Chapman, a newly 21-year-old ARCA driver, and trace the line from a bare-bones go-kart setup to real stock car results. He shares how he got connected with a team owner, what it takes to earn trust quickly, and why being ready matters as much as raw speed when opportunities show up with almost no notice. We also dig into Chapman's other lane: electrical engineering. Cars are turning into rolling computer networks, and racing is already obsessed with data, sensors, and communication between driver and crew. We talk about how technical fluency can keep a career moving even when rides change, and why engineering can open doors across motorsports, from setup and diagnostics to inspection and safety roles. Then Don delivers a full new car review of the redesigned 2027 Kia Telluride, including the trim walk, the Telluride X-Pro SX Prestige AWD experience, interior tech highlights, pricing, competitors, and the big question of whether a 2.5-liter turbo four feels like enough for a large three-row SUV. Jeff rounds things out with the true origin of the Indy 500 milk tradition, followed by a clear-eyed look at automotive tariffs, supply chain complexity, and the USMCA review that could reshape North American production decisions.Subscribe for more real-world car reviews, racing stories, and smart automotive talk, then share this with a friend and leave a quick rating and review. 128 cars entered a factory stock dirt race and the winner took home $30,000. That single stat says a lot about where American racing energy is flowing right now, so we sit down with award-winning track announcer Rodney Rodriguez to unpack why dirt track racing in Texas and Louisiana keeps growing while asphalt fights for attention. We get into what “affordable” racing really means, how teams spend money, and why the crowds and car counts keep showing up for dirt. Then we zoom out to the driver pipeline: quarter midgets, teenagers winning before they have a street license, and the modern pay-to-play reality that can launch a career fast. We also talk about why today's “old guys” in NASCAR can be in their 40s, and what that says about how early drivers now have to start to reach ARCA, trucks, and the top levels. From there, we debate NASCAR stage racing, commercials, and whether the Gen 7 car has made the racing safer but less wild. Rodney shares what he likes about staged cautions and restarts, Jeff pushes back on how it changes the feel of competition, and we compare the Cup product with the racing fans still love in feeder and regional series. We also touch on the Indianapolis 500 and Katherine Legge's double attempt, because the best race month deserves a spotlight. We wrap with a practical segment you can use right away: can run-flat tires be repaired with a plug or patch? Jeff breaks down puncture location, sidewall stress, manufacturer rules, and why a proper inspection matters. The morning after Blaise Alexander died, I walked into the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Center and watched a member of the NASCAR press corps hold court for anyone who'd listen. Then he bellowed it: "Old Billy France has killed another one." I had never spoken a single word to that man in my life. What happened next was the most unprofessional moment of my career — and I have never regretted it for a single second. In October 2001, a young driver named Blaise Alexander died chasing a win at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Thirteen days later, NASCAR changed its rules forever. Blaise Alexander Jr. was an emerging talent — a prankster with a warrior's heart, a driver who had already won four ARCA races and stood on the verge of a full-time Busch Series ride. Then, on October 4, 2001, during an ARCA race at Charlotte, the sport lost him. His death sent shockwaves through the NASCAR community — and within two weeks, NASCAR mandated head and neck restraint devices across all three national touring divisions. For Alexander's father, Blaise Sr., that mandate was both a painful acknowledgment of what time could not undo and a lasting tribute to the son he lost. In this chapter of Firestorm, we revisit Alexander's remarkable journey: from Pennsylvania go-karts to the national stage, the early friendship with a then-unknown Jimmie Johnson, the gut-punch of losing Kenny Irwin just months before, and the family's quiet fight to make sure his name — and his legacy — would outlast the grief. No driver in NASCAR's top three divisions has died in a race in the 25 years since these safety changes were implemented. That important legacy belongs, in part, to Blaise Alexander Jr. What we cover in this episode: Blaise Alexander Jr.'s racing career and four ARCA wins The October 4, 2001 ARCA race at Charlotte Motor Speedway Jimmie Johnson's personal tribute to his close friend NASCAR's HANS device mandate — announced October 17, 2001 The "Firestorm Five": Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin, Tony Roper, Dale Earnhardt and Blaise Alexander Blaise Sr.'s push for soft walls and lasting safety reforms at NASCAR tracks The Scene Vault · Preserving the greatest stories in stock-car racing history.

EP 678: Darin Hardy Level Seven High Terrain “You can’t half-ass walking on uneven ground—and that lesson translates to everything: relationships, fatherhood, business, life.” What’s up everyone! This week I’m sitting down with Darin Hardy, and man, this conversation goes places I didn’t expect. Darin is a former Marine Corps special operations guy who spent 20 years and 13 deployments in the military, and now he’s using horses, nature, and even AI to help executives and leaders transform their lives. Yeah, you heard that right—AI and horses. Stay with me here. This episode sits right at the intersection of ancient wisdom and cutting-edge technology. Darin breaks down how he’s using emotionally intelligent AI to help distill his thoughts and experiences in the field, then using horses as living mirrors to reflect back what people need to see about themselves. It’s wild, it’s different, and it’s honestly one of the most unique approaches to coaching I’ve ever heard. We dive deep into what Darin calls “window moments”—those rare experiences in nature where you feel like you’re between worlds. He shares two incredibly powerful stories: one about syncing with a horse at 16 years old and losing all sense of where he ended and the horse began, and another about a forked-horn mule deer that walked within arm’s reach and taught him he had permission to forge his own path. These aren’t just cool hunting stories—they’re formative moments that shaped how he shows up in the world. But this isn’t all woo-woo spiritual stuff. Darin gets tactical too. He talks about hitting the wall on day five of an elk hunt, using “I am” statements to shift from doing to being, and how those three words helped him arrow a bull when he was ready to quit. We also get into the difference between power over versus partner with, why he cried in a pasture when three horses wouldn’t let him catch them, and what that taught him about 20 years of narratives he’d been carrying. One of my favorite parts of this conversation is when Darin talks about being “porous”—how life doesn’t just happen to you or for you, but through you. And how as outdoorsmen, we’re naturally land-informed and nature-informed, which gives us this unique lens to filter everything else in life. It’s the same reason I believe elk hunting teaches you more about business and life than most MBA programs ever could. If you’re someone who’s looking for transformation, willing to get uncomfortable, and open to the idea that horses and mountains might teach you more about yourself than any boardroom ever will, this episode is for you. Darin’s work is for people who refuse to live small lives—people who want authentic experiences, not hand-fed success. https://www.level7highperformance.com/retreats?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss Sponsors Tricer – I run Tricer gear for a reason. One of my favorite products is the RP Bipod—a legit hunting bipod with all the high-end features you’d expect. At 10.5 ounces, it’s lightweight enough for any hunt. Comes with long legs, short legs, works on Picatinny or Arca. For $350, it’s a no-brainer. I’ve shot a ton of critters off mine. Head to tricer.com and use code TRO to save 10%. OnX Hunt – The new weather feature is a game-changer. Instead of checking weather for the nearest town, you can tap anywhere on the mountain and get hyperlocal weather data that takes topography into account. See wind variations across different parts of your hunting area. Become an Elite member at onxmaps.com and use code TRO to save 20%. Timestamps 00:00 – Intro: Ancient tech meets AI 05:15 – Darin’s military background: 20 years, 13 deployments 11:30 – From infantry to special operations 16:45 – Transitioning out and the two things he promised himself 22:20 – How passion becomes your job (whether you want it to or not) 28:40 – Being “porous” – life flowing through you, not just to you 34:15 – The horse window moment at 16: losing boundaries 40:30 – The mule deer at arm’s reach: permission to forge your own path 46:50 – Hong Kong beach: glowing plankton and Disney magic 52:10 – Flow state in the red zone: from doing to being 58:35 – Using AI to distill “I am” statements 1:03:20 – Day five of the Idaho hunt: hitting the wall 1:08:45 – Three horses that wouldn’t let him catch them 1:12:30 – Power over vs. partner with 1:16:00 – Level Seven High Terrain and authentic experiences 1:20:15 – Cow elk hunts as transformation: range day to butchering Three Key Takeaways Shift From Doing to Being – Darin uses AI-assisted coaching to help people create “I am” statements instead of “I do” goals. When he was exhausted on day five of an elk hunt, ready to quit, he repeated “I’m resilient, I’m flexible” as he climbed—pointing himself back to a state of being rather than performance. Ten minutes later, he arrowed a bull at 20 yards. The power isn’t in what you do, it’s in who you are. Those qualities remain true regardless of whether you punch your tag or eat it. Horses and Nature as Mirrors – Horses don’t lie. When Darin returned to Montana after 20 years in the military with this narrative of “this is my pot of gold,” three well-trained horses wouldn’t let him within 50 feet. He broke down crying in knee-high grass because they were reflecting back his energy—he’d come with an agenda, never asking what the horses’ agenda was. The next day, he left the halter at the gate, walked into the pasture with just a brush, and said “I’m here with fresh, if anyone wants something, come get it.” Within 10 minutes, all three horses were standing around him. Power over vs. partner with—that’s the lesson. Give Yourself Permission to Feel Something Different – Transformation isn’t about knowing what to do differently. It’s about giving yourself permission to feel something different. When you’re willing to accept the pain of change more than the pain of staying the same, you’re ready. Darin’s “window moments” in nature—with horses, with deer, with glowing plankton on a Hong Kong beach—gave him permission to see himself differently. You can’t half-ass walking on uneven ground, and that lesson translates to everything: relationships, fatherhood, business, life.

Episode 181 is on the scene and we end our 2026 Kulwicki Driver Development Program Series with third generation star Penn Sauter. Penn who is the son of former Craftsman Truck Series Champion Johnny Sauter and grandson of the legendary Midwestern competitor Jim talks to us about his upcoming season growing up in a racing family and if he faces any pressure to live up to the Sauter name and reputation. Kristian Armstead grew up in Michigan but has settled in nicely in the South Boston area of Virginia racing in the Hornets Division. Last Saturday during Danville Toyota Race Night, him and his small team of three's hard work paid off with his first win ever at the speedway. Kristian joins us to discuss his career so far, what it means for him to win at a speedway that has seen so many legends do the same and overcoming some of the faster cars to claim his first win of what he hopes to be many. Julian was at SoBo on Saturday and the boys reviewed the other racing action from the Halifax County facility. From Trevor Ward picking up twin second place finishes to Peyton Sellers and Johnny Layne adding to their impressive career win totals in Late Models and Pure Stocks respectively to Jacob Derrick's late pass on Drew Dawson to win in Limiteds, it was quite the opening day for three of the track's four divisions. We spoke with Bobby McCarty following his win in the second race. For McCarty, it has been a struggle the last few seasons getting his new team up and going and yes, there were times he thought it was over for him. Saturday proved otherwise by returning to victory lane just like Lee Pulliam did two weeks ago. The SMART Modified Tour invaded Dominion Raceway on Saturday in a race absolutely dominated by Carson Loftin who grabbed his first win of 2026. Powder coated in Bus Built Yellow, it weighs roughly a pound and a half without a bag. AR-15 Buffer Weights for Suppressed Tuning (H2 Buffer) The H2 buffer for AR-15 rifles weighs approximately 4.6 ounces and contains two tungsten weights, designed to slow down the bolt carrier group and reduce recoil in suppressed setups without needing an adjustable gas block. It is a popular choice for short-barreled rifles and suppressed AR-15s to manage increased backpressure from silencers. Heavier buffers like the H2 help fine-tune over-gassed systems by increasing mass. 1X Prism Optic A 1X prism optic uses a glass prism to focus both the target image and an etched reticle, which can be optionally illuminated without requiring batteries for basic use. It provides clarity and durability advantages over red dots, particularly for users with astigmatism, and supports complex reticles like ACSS with bullet drop compensation. Though not truly 1X, any magnification is negligible in practice. GUN FIGHTS No one stepped into the arena this week. The restrictions originated in 1992 under President George H.W. Bush and were enacted in 1993 by President Clinton to create a more ‘professional, business-like' environment. In contrast, troops carried weapons at all times in Iraq and Afghanistan without internal violence. Antonyuk v. James: New York Permanent Injunction on Social Media Gun Permit Requirement (Savage) In Antonyuk v. James, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York issued a permanent injunction against New York's requirement for concealed carry applicants to disclose social media accounts from the past three years, as part of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act. The state consented to this injunction, removing the provision from the PPB-3 license application form. Litigation continues on other aspects of the Act, including restrictions on sensitive locations. Trump's FY2027 Budget Proposal (Civil Rights Division and ATF Funding for 2A Protection) (Savage) President Trump's FY2027 budget proposal includes targeted federal funding to defend Second Amendment rights, such as $1.4 million for a new office in the DOJ Civil Rights Division to protect against unlawful infringements and pursue enshrining those rights. It allocates $4.8 million to the Office of the Pardon Attorney's Firearm Rights Restoration Initiative for law-abiding citizens to regain rights post-justice obligations. The budget supports ATF in reversing prior regulations on background checks, pistol braces, homemade firearms, and FFL revocations, redirecting focus to illegal traffickers. Beckwith v. Frey: First Circuit Rules Gun Purchases Not Protected by Second Amendment (Savage) In Beckwith et al. v. Frey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit reversed a district court's preliminary injunction against Maine's 2024 72-hour waiting period for gun purchases (Me. Stat. tit. 25, § 2016). The panel held that the Second Amendment's plain text protects keeping and bearing arms but not the act of purchasing or acquiring firearms. This creates a circuit split with other circuits recognizing a right to acquire arms. ATF Frames and Receivers Rule (Updating 2021R-05F) – Bondi v. VanDerStok (Savage) The ATF is preparing a new draft rule updating the 2021R-05F ‘Definition of ‘Frame or Receiver' and Identification of Firearms,' which expands the definition of ‘firearm' to include partially completed frames, receivers, and certain parts kits that are ‘readily' completable. This follows the 2022 rule upheld by the Supreme Court in Bondi v. VanDerStok (2025). The update eases restrictions on some metal unfinished kits while maintaining strict regulation on polymer frames. REVIEWS Review: Operative Agent J Freedom from Illinois Comiforina wants full gun control, and the latest suit against gatalog proves it's not about public safety. Ironic, that their top gun control tard was running guns, Yang I think his name was. And they literally had politicians hiring Chinese spys, and one threatening to nuke us. Operative Agent J Freedom Review: Griz from Texas Absolutely phenomenal podcast. It takes real talent to talk for this long and somehow say so little, but the hosts pull it off with impressive consistency. Every episode feels like a masterclass in wandering off-topic, repeating the same points, and stretching what could be five minutes of content into a full episode. The chemistry between the hosts is undeniable—mostly because they seem just as confused about where the conversation is going as the listeners are. The audio quality is great though, which really helps you clearly hear every awkward pause and questionable take. If you're looking for a podcast that will make you appreciate literally every other podcast out there, this one is a must-listen. Five squares for the unforgettable experience. The Door Bumper Clear crew returns from Martinsville after a weekend that seems like it couldn't have gone worse, but things brighten up because we have Todd Gilliland joining us, who is all smiles. In the opening segment, or B.S. as we like to call it, we cover tons of ground, including the cause for Luke Baldwin's unfortunate wreck, Bubba Wallace's detrimental crash, and why the world of ARCA was buzzing this week. In Spot On, Spot Off, the topics we brought to the table were: - Was Alan Gustafson's call luck or strategy (or maybe even a little of both) - The package at Martinsville and the racing product - Jesse Love & Rajah Caruth's well-handled post-race conversation - The NASCAR Hall Of Fame Nominees List In Reaction Theatre, we hear from the Chasesexuals, try to pronounce SVG's full name, and get a not-so-nice Easter message for Denny Hamlin. Following that up is S*** Show Hall of Fame, and it felt like our nominees were being served up on a silver platter — with everything from Nashville Fairgrounds' short tracks faux pas to Porsches flying over catch fences. For Ask DBC, we ask Todd Gilliland if he really looks at the flag man, what he's doing with his week off, and what his go-to road trip snacks are. The gang wraps up with DBC picks, Weekend Winners, and their closing thoughts before teasing who we have coming on next week — hint: an undeniable Hall of Famer is making his return!

If you're a motorsports fan, you've probably heard the name Scott Speed. From his journey through Formula 1, ARCA, NASCAR, and Rallycross as part of the Red Bull family, the three-time X Games gold medalist has sure done it all. On this week's episode, Dale Jr. sat down with the former Formula 1 racer to learn about his career journey. Though Dale and Scott shared the track for many years, they never got the chance to sit down and chat. Today, that changes. What spawned from a love of racing video games and an admiration for his father's own career quickly grew into national go-kart success and a call from Red Bull. Scott was quickly thrust into the Formula One pipeline, moving overseas and becoming Red Bull's test driver for F1 as a teenager. Scott became the first American to compete in F1 since Michael Andretti. A career as a teammate to Sebastian Vettel quickly disappeared after a rainy wreck at the Nürburgring and a heated exchange with the team boss. Scott's career took a sharp turn back to America, where he joined the NASCAR circuit, winning multiple races in lower series before going full-time in the Cup Series in 2009. Though Scott's stint in NASCAR was short-lived, he opens up to Dale about how a broken back in a Rallycross race introduced a new career opportunity with former NASCAR driver Josh Wise – taking Scott out of the seat altogether for a role he never expected. As a child growing up Ben stated he “Played with match box cars and fire trucks”. When he was old enough he started out as an explorer with Wooster Township Fire Department in Ohio and in 1983 became a certified volunteer firefighter. Even though North Carolina is now home Ben still has ties with the Wooster organization. Before starting his full-time career in the fire service Ben was able to live out one of his dreams as a part time driver for Nascar and ARCA series. Ben would do his best work in the then ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series and ARCA Bondo-MarHyde Series, recording four wins, 6 poles, and 29 top-tens in 64 races. In 1998 Ben was hired as a career Firefighter with Mooresville Fire. Everything Ben does he puts forth the effort to make sure he achieves his goal. But what I admire about Ben is the fact that he openly talks about achieving success but at the same time with doing so the strain it can cause on personal relationships and how we need to find that balance because it happens to the best of us who truly want to be good at the job. I truly hope the listeners can pickup on the many gems and nuggets Ben drops in the interview. I truly appreciate Ben for wanting to come on, share his story and experiences for others to learn from. At the end of the day we should strive for the next generation of Firefighters to be better than us. And the only way to do so is to make sure they have the guidance and tools necessary.

#PresenciaDeDios #ArcaDelPacto #VidaEspiritual #Biblia #Fe #Iglesia #EnseñanzaBiblica

Get Close, Stay Close: Jerrod Lile's Simple Elk Hunting Philosophy

Elk Hunt

What's up everyone! This week I'm sitting down with Jerrod Lile, CEO of Hunting Fool and one of the most underrated elk hunters you've never heard enough from. Jerrod spent 14 years working alongside Dan Evans at Trophy Taker—yeah, THE Dan Evans—and the stories and lessons he picked up during that time are absolute gold. This conversation goes deep. We talk about how Jerrod went from being a good shooter to a great archer after Dan called him out on his bad habits, the mental game required to perform under pressure (spoiler: it's just like you to make a good shot), and why he's helped 15 first-time bowhunters kill their first elk. Jerrod breaks down his hunting philosophy into one simple mantra: get as close as you can for as long as you can, and good stuff will happen. But this episode isn't all tactics and tips. Jerrod gets brutally honest about the emotional rollercoaster of elk hunting—from getting too cocky after a string of successes and missing a giant bull at 35 yards, to the heartbreak of his father passing away in the middle of a 23-point Arizona hunt. That story alone is worth the listen. It's raw, it's real, and it's a reminder that elk hunting is about so much more than antlers. We also dive into the psychology of hunting with other people (spoiler: it usually makes you worse), why repeating the same game plan year after year is a trap, and how to pivot when things aren't working. Jerrod doesn't hold back on his mistakes—like setting up a comfy wall tent camp in Arizona and being too stubborn to relocate when the pressure got heavy—and the lessons he's learned from them. If you want to hear from someone who's been in the trenches for decades, worked with legends, and still gets humbled by elk every single season, this is the episode for you. Jerrod is humble, authentic, and full of hard-earned wisdom that only comes from putting in the work year after year. Sponsors Stone Glacier - If you're in the market for a new pack, Jerrod and I both run Stone Glacier gear. I packed out a lot of animals this year with the Sky Archer 6400, including a couple elk. The thing I love about Stone Glacier packs is they work whether you're on a 10-day backpack trip or day hunting from the truck. Minimalist design, tough as nails, and they collapse down so you don't need multiple packs. Built by mountain hunters for mountain hunters. Check out the Sky Archer 6400 at stoneglacier.com and use code TRO. Tricer - Tricer makes way more than just tripods. One of my favorite products is the RP Bipod—a legit hunting bipod with all the features you'd expect from a high-dollar setup. At 10.5 ounces, it's lightweight enough to take on any hunt. Comes with everything: long legs, short legs, works on Picatinny or Arca. For $350, it's a no-brainer. I've shot a lot of critters off mine. Head to tricer.com and use code TRO to save 10%. OnX Hunt - We didn't have an OnX ad in this episode, but if you're a Hunting Fool member or thinking about becoming one, OnX Elite members get Hunting Fool for free. Plus, OnX is running a giveaway right now through April 15th—a hunt for two, no charge to enter. Just visit the OnX website, click the single sign-on button, and you're automatically entered. Check it out at onxmaps.com. Timestamps 00:00 - Intro: The underrated elk hunter you need to hear from 04:30 - Working alongside Dan Evans at Trophy Taker 09:15 - Going to first and second grade together 14:20 - The story that changed everything: Dan circles a bull in New Mexico 19:45 - "Iron Elk Syndrome" and why calling is the default trap 24:30 - Helping 15 first-time bowhunters kill their first elk 28:50 - The mantra: Get as close as you can for as long as you can 32:40 - Managing the emotional rollercoaster of new hunters 37:10 - Dan breaking down Jerrod's shooting and rebuilding it 42:20 - "It's like me to make a good shot" - the mental game 46:15 - Getting cocky and missing a giant bull at 35 yards 50:30 - Arizona 2023: Hunting with his son and running into people 55:40 - The lesson: Don't repeat the same game plan year after year 58:20 - Hunting with multiple people makes you worse 1:02:15 - The 23-point Arizona hunt and losing his father mid-hunt 1:08:45 - Shooting the bull on the last night with 15 minutes of light 1:12:30 - Carrying his dad's ashes on every hunt 1:15:00 - Hunting Fool giveaway and closing thoughts Three Key Takeaways Master the Mental Game of Archery - Jerrod learned from Dan Evans that you can control every variable in elk hunting except whether you'll panic when the moment comes. He spent months blind bailing, shooting 5-spots, and reading books like With Winning in Mind to build his mental game. His mantra under pressure: "It's like me to make a good shot." Repeating that phrase in third person creates psychological distance from the pressure and keeps you focused on execution. Great elk hunters aren't just good woodsmen—they're elite archers who can perform when it counts. Hunting with Others Usually Makes You Worse - Jerrod's favorite way to hunt with buddies? Share camp, high-five in the morning, split up, and reconvene at night. When you're constantly consulting with a partner—should we go this way? Should we move?—you have 15 mini-meetings a day and 0.5x the decision-making power. Even worse, if your gut disagrees with your partner's call, you'll be less committed, step on a stick, or miss the subtle cues that lead to success. Pick a point person, trust them completely, or hunt solo. Don't Fall in Love with Last Year's Game Plan - Jerrod burned his Arizona hunt by repeating the same meal plan that worked the year before. Just because elk were in a certain spot last year (or the last three years) doesn't mean they'll be there this year. People change, pressure changes, and elk are nomadic. If you're consistently running into hunters or the elk aren't doing what they did before, pivot early. Don't lose four days being stubborn. The devil you don't know might be better than the devil you do.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. welcomes Cleetus McFarland back to the Download on the heels of his polarizing NASCAR Trucks Series debut. The beloved YouTube-content creator and part-time ARCA competitor joins the show to share some big news: he's moving up in the world of stock car racing. McFarland explains that he recently received an offer to join Richard Childress Racing for select O'Reilly Auto Parts Series starts over the next two seasons. The team is eager to work with McFarland to help give him proper seat-time experience and training to help unlock the racer he has shown glimpses of being. He will take his next step at an upcoming test at Rockingham before making his series debut at the track on April 4th. Cleetus recently garnered negative attention when he crashed out early from his Trucks series debut at Daytona, a move brought on by a lack of experience and lap time. Dale Jr. explains that while he is moving quickly into his racing career, the incident has happened to even veteran racers such as himself. He goes on to reassure Cleetus that the training and education he'll receive at RCR will expedite his growth as a racer, giving him information he'd never be able to gain in the ARCA ranks. The guys also discuss the inherent danger that comes along with Cleetus' stunt work, the prospect of going late model racing, and even share a little liver mush snack.
