Kayla takes us through her journey as the daughter of a handyman-Dad to her current leadership role at Nemacolin as well her support of Equipment Managers and Technicians benefiting from her involvement in the GCSAA's education program. The conversation included a good ole' deep dive into Reel Theory, her approach to mower set-up and how data informs her decisions. Mike’s life passion has always been sporting clays. At the young age of 14, he started working at Pintail Point on Maryland’s eastern shore. This is where Mike found his love for the sporting clays industry. Mike started competing, making the Junior All American team, in almost every category in his first year of competing. Mike continued to compete in college and soon after he landed a course manager position at the prestigious Shooting Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. This is where Mike found his next passion – teaching! Five years later, Mike found himself at Quail Creek Plantation, Florida’s premier sporting clay facility. Mike helped facilitate the Gator Cup as well as running outside operations in day to day business. He also coached the Young Guns National Champions with several students winning National Championships. Mike is also very well known for his targets setting abilities for all levels. When he can find the time, he still enjoys competing at the highest levels and is committed to all aspects of shooting sports. Mike is now the General Manager at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays.

Dennis Cone - We continued our month long celebration of the life of Arnold Palmer by hearing stories about Mr. Palmer from both Dennis and Eric. Dennis shared his memories of meeting Mr. Palmer. He also talked about Bill Marray and his brothers being inducted into the Caddie Hall of Fame, the ongoing work to bring caddies back into game of golf at the local level and their Caddie for Kids program. Eric Johnson - Eric shared several great stories about his interactions with Mr. Palmer from his time as the Director of Golf at Oakmont Country Club including Mr. Palmer's final U.S.Open appearance on June 17th 1994, which also happened to be the day of the infamous police chase with O.J. Simpson in the white bronco. Eric also shared his thoughts on the Ryder Cup particularly the matches between Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia as well as the duel between Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy.
