We all face deception—but it rarely shows up as a blatant lie. More often, the enemy uses subtle half-truths to shape how we see God, ourselves, and the world. This week, Pastor Bruce joins Michelle and Christian to dig deeper into the message from Ephesians 6 and Genesis 3. Together, we'll identify some of Satan's most common half-truths and talk about how to replace them with the whole truth of God's Word.

Ephesians 6:10-12Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Acts 8:26-3926 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this:“Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth.33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.”34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.

Luke 11:1-41 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.'”

Psalm 461 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth.9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire.10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Pastor Bruce Frank from Biltmore Church joins us on Live Sent Sunday to answer the question, “What does the Bible say about boldness?” He challenges us to share the gospel with boldness following the example of the early church. We usually think of the church as a place, but the Book of Acts shows that the church is a movement designed for a mission. The early church was built on a conviction that Jesus died and rose again for our sins and had sent His followers to proclaim the good news of the gospel. The danger of the church at any time is to go from a missional movement into maintenance mode. If you're part of a movement, you're moving, not standing still! The message of the gospel has not changed in the over 2,000 years since Jesus died and rose again, and neither has the manner in which we communicate the gospel. The single term that best describes the manner in which God wants His gospel given is boldness, which is defined as “clear communication in the face of potential opposition. Acts 4:23-31 details the boldness with which the apostles declared the gospel. In the face of great opposition, they continued testifying about who Jesus is and what He had done for all sinners. Pastor Bruce gives 3 lessons we can draw from the example of the apostles' boldness: 1.) Rest in the sovereignty of God. 2.) Share in the story of God. 3.) Be filled with the Spirit of God. God is always working around you, drawing people to Himself. He creates interest, convicts, convinces, and invites us into the story. He invites us to be fully dependent on Him and wants to use us to boldly declare the truth of His gospel!
