She has an undergraduate degree in biology from Yale and was headed to medical school before the legal profession became her passion. Broyles is the President and General Counsel for Child & Parental Rights Campaign. She and her team have created tools for churches, pastors and parents called The Church Transgender Response Guide. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Broyles explains the deeper evil fueling the transgender movement, its historical roots, and the legal cases she's now taking on. She's sounding the alarm, offering churches videos, in person training, and even zoom calls. A full court press to fight back and give parents and churches the ammunition to live out their God given authority. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Last year, both Belgium and the Netherlands, home to the key ports of Antwerp-Bruges and Rotterdam, reported a dramatic decline in the volume of cocaine seized. As the traditional gateways into Europe for legal as well as illegal cargo, this is surely cause for celebration, or at the very least a pat on the back. The only problem? Seizures in Portugal, Italy, Greece and other southern European countries increased. Which begs the question, how on earth do you stop smuggling? Lloyd's List reporter Joshua Minchin again speaks to four experts at the very frontline in the fight against smuggling to understand how public-private cooperation can identify high-risk containers and push back against what can seem like an incessant tide. Plus, UNODC's Bob van den Berghe explains how work in source countries can prevent illegal cargo ever getting on board a commercial vessel and strengthen relationships between law enforcement agencies at opposite sides of an ocean. Joining Joshua on the podcast are: • Joe Kramek, chief executive, World Shipping Council • Bob Van den Berghe, deputy head PCCP, UN Office on Drugs and Crime • Niels Vanlaer, harbour master at the port of Antwerp-Bruges • Robert Campbell, programme director, United for Wildlife

Join Lisa and Laura as they wrap up their journey through Passionate Discipleship, a nine-week Bible study series. Deepen your faith this Easter season as we unpack Paul's wisdom to his closest friend, Timothy, reflecting on how we can apply it today. Grow in personal holiness, as we recognize the importance of our God-given mission to reach and raise the next generation. On today's final episode of the series, Lisa and Laura discuss Lesson 9, Talk 9, titled “Fighting the Good Fight.” Hear about the personal obstacles they face in running the race, as well as helpful tips to persevere when we feel like giving up. This is a must-listen for women learning to live as disciples of Christ! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. 2 Timothy 4:7–8: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. 2 Timothy 1:5: I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you. 2 Timothy 1:6: For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you. 2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:13–14: Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus; guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. 2 Timothy 2:1–2: You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 3:2–5,7: For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 4:3–4: For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. Matthew 13:33: The Kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid three measures of meal, till it was all leavened. 2 Timothy 3:12,14–15: Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it. And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the Sacred Writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 40:41: But they who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. Did I love well today? Who did God place in my path? Did I just tolerate her? Did I slow down for her? Was I distracted in my interactions, or was I present? Show mentions. In a powerful callout, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Congress and the White House over insider trading. Elected officials shouldn't hold stocks—period. While Martha Stewart went to prison for it, members of Congress routinely outperform the market, raising red flags of insider trading. Donald Trump, for example, told people to buy stocks just before pausing tariffs, triggering a historic $304 billion windfall for billionaires, according to Bloomberg. How many people did Trump tell in private before hitting send on that social media post? Because that would be insider trading. Corruption flows freely in America—like cheap wine at Mar-a-Lago. Now, MAGA Republicans are pushing the SAVE Act, requiring proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. It's voter suppression dressed up as security. Noncitizen voting is extremely rare, but this bill could disenfranchise millions—including women who changed their names for marriage and trans Americans. It's essentially a poll tax, nationalizing Jim Crow. Democrats could stop it in the Senate—unless a handful cave. Four House Democrats already backed it. If passed, this could become the next Citizens United, further empowering oligarchs like Elon Musk and paving Trump's path to authoritarian rule. What can you do? Show up. Protest. Call your senators, especially those who caved on the budget battle. Demand accountability. And yes, let's talk about AOC primarying Chuck Schumer or Kirsten Gillibrand—New York, an the nation, deserves better. For more on how to fight back, check the Gaslit Nation Action Guide at GaslitNationPod.com. Join us Monday, April 14, for a salon on defeating oligarchy, with special guests–Patrick Guarasci and Sam Roecker, senior advisors to Judge Susan Crawford's victorious Wisconsin Supreme Court campaign. Together, we're sand in their gears. In this week's bonus show, Gaslit Nation's special guest Adrian Karatnycky takes the Gaslit Nation Self-Care Q&A. Adrian has been on the frontlines fighting for democracy both at home and abroad. In his critically acclaimed book Battleground Ukraine, he traces Ukraine's struggle for independence from the fall of the Soviet Union to Russia's genocidal invasion today, drawing important lessons for protecting democracies worldwide. He has worked alongside civil rights legend Bayard Rustin and the AFL-CIO, the largest federation of unions in America. He also supported Poland's Solidarity movement, which helped bring down the Iron Curtain, and played a key role, along with iconic Soviet dissident, writer, and Czech statesman Václav Havel, in preserving Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in the 1990s, when many thought the Cold War had ended. Emily Wilson isn't afraid to call out the real enemy. After years in women's ministry and her own battles with shame, insecurity, and toxic relationship patterns, she's seen the devil's playbook up close. Inspired by C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters, Emily flips the script with a bold new book written from the perspective of a senior demon training a junior one—exposing how the enemy targets women with lies about their worth, their bodies, their relationships, and their calling. In this interview, Emily shares how to stop playing defense and start fighting back—offering powerful, practical ways to trade stress for surrender and silence the voice that says, you're not enough.Emily's book: https://www.amazon.com/Sincerely-Stoneheart-Unmask-Enemys-Truth/dp/1400249724Emily's channel: https://www.youtube.com/@emwilss/featuredNEW: Join our exclusive Rose Report community! https://lilaroseshow.supercast.com - We'll have BTS footage, ad-free episodes, monthly AMA, and early access to our upcoming guests.A big thanks to our partner, EWTN, the world's leading Catholic network! Today's Headlines: Markets are spiraling as global fallout from Trump's tariffs intensifies. The bond market plunged yesterday, signaling foreign doubts about U.S. economic stability—especially from Japan. China hiked tariffs on American goods to 84%, and the EU approved its first wave of retaliatory tariffs, effective April 15. By afternoon, Trump partially reversed course, pausing tariffs for 90 days on most countries (except China and the EU), leading to a 10% stock market surge—its biggest since 2008. Meanwhile, IRS Commissioner Melanie Krause resigned after backlash over sharing undocumented immigrants' tax data with ICE, marking the agency's third leadership exit this year. Trump also floated deporting U.S. prisoners to El Salvador (not legal), signed an executive order to investigate two former officials for treason, and froze nearly $1B in funding to Cornell and Northwestern over campus protests. And in Congress, House Speaker Mike Johnson failed to get enough support for the GOP's new tax cut-heavy budget—despite one member literally rebuking him “in the name of Jesus.” Resources/Articles mentioned in this episode: NY Times: Bond Sell Off Raises Questions About U.S. Safe Haven Status CNN: China announces 84% tariffs on US goods in showdown with Trump CNBC: European Union approves first set of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports CNBC: Trump tariffs: 'Do not retaliate and you will be rewarded,' White House says ABC News: Acting IRS commissioner plans to resign after data-sharing deal with immigration authorities TNR: Press Secretary Says Trump Wasn't Joking About Deporting U.S. Citizens NBC News: Trump orders probes of two former officials who defied him AP News: About $1.8 billion in federal money for Cornell and Northwestern is frozen, the White House says MSN: 'I rebuke you in the name of Jesus': GOP rep explodes at Johnson in closed-door meeting Morning Announcements is produced by Sami Sage alongside Bridget Schwartz and edited by Grace Hernandez-Johnson Learn more about your ad choices. Today's Headlines: The world is still reeling from Trump's sweeping new tariffs, with markets in free fall and no signs of a course correction. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed the White House is not backing down, and China quickly retaliated with steep tariffs of its own, sanctions on U.S. companies, and an investigation into DuPont. Dow futures were already down 1600 points before markets even opened, and JP Morgan now puts the risk of a global recession at 60%. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent brushed off fears, even as he spent the week on Capitol Hill negotiating more tax cuts for the wealthy. In the background, the IRS is quietly working on a project to centralize taxpayer data in a new “mega API” system—likely with Palantir, raising privacy concerns. Elsewhere in the administration, the heads of the NSA and Cyber Command were abruptly fired, reportedly under pressure from far-right activist Laura Loomer. But the courts are beginning to push back: a federal judge ruled the NIH must restore full research funding, another ordered the government to return a man it wrongfully deported to El Salvador, and 19 state attorneys general are suing to block Trump's executive order requiring proof of citizenship to vote and tossing out mail ballots received after Election Day.
