Send us a textFound another series to share for you. When I ran across this from the book: “Coach Wooden's Greatest Secret: The Power of a Lot of Little Things Done Well”, by Pat Williams with Jim Denney. It's all about building healthy habits. Find a link for the book HERE. (you can find it in many different places) It starts off by reminding us that the best way to replace a bad habit is to replace it with a good habit. These eight parts remind us that it's tough to try and simply get rid of a bad habit by willpower alone. What I'm sharing with you starting today is all about principles to keep in mind as we replace unhealthy habits with good habits. The first is to focus on little things. Instead of making huge changes in our lives, find small manageable tasks to focus on that lead us to the changes we want. I have always looked ahead a bit too much to the ending that I want. Then it becomes difficult, challenging and frustrating because my focus is not on the first step I need to take, but what's at the finish line. The more I read these, the more fired up I got. I hope this happens to you as well during the next few episodes. Thanks for listening. **APPLICATIONS CLOSE 12/31/25 FOR IMPACT COLLECTIVE MASTERMIND** What happens when your consulting business no longer needs you in the work but needs you to lead the leaders? In this final episode of the Growing Pains series, I break down what it really takes to build a Scalable Firm. This phase, often experienced somewhere between $1M and $3M in revenue, is defined by adding leadership layers, stepping fully into the CEO role, and creating the operational clarity required to support a growing team. I share why letting leaders lead is essential, how complexity increases as your client base and team expand, and what can happen when scalable operations are skipped. I also close with a final vignette of Jean, our fictional consultant, to illustrate what this stage can look like when it's navigated with intention and strong leadership. This episode is for nonprofit consultants who want to build a firm that creates real impact, supports their life, and actually works. Better Together!

A Game Plan for Sports HealthSports have always played an important role in Hayden Lee's life. Now a Doctor of Pharmacy/MBA student at Cedarville University, Hayden's journey from high school athlete to aspiring sports pharmacist shows how passion and purpose can collide in powerful ways.Growing up, Hayden was all in — on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom. His love for biology and fascination with how the body works fueled his curiosity. He noticed how athletes managed pain, sometimes relying heavily on medications like ibuprofen before games. But as he dove deeper into his studies, he discovered how pre-treating pain with NSAIDs could actually hinder recovery, muscle growth, and bone health. This insight lit a fire: What if athletes had pharmacists guiding their training and recovery? That question led Hayden to the emerging field of sports pharmacy, a dynamic intersection of athletic performance and pharmaceutical care. “We're stewards of our bodies,” he shared on the Cedarville Stories podcast, “and sports pharmacy helps us perform and heal in a way that honors that responsibility.”Hayden now serves as a student board member for the U.S. Sports Pharmacy Group, where he advocates for his peers, builds mentorship bridges, and helps shape the future of the profession. The field is growing fast — so fast that it may not be long before sports pharmacists are regulars on the sidelines with college and professional teams. With his faith as a guide and a playbook full of purpose, Hayden Lee is training for more than a career — he's on a mission to help athletes steward their health and shine both on and off the field.https://share.transistor.fm/s/00891df0https://youtu.be/m_tqgjpmFxA

I found an awesome post from Jon Gordon (@JonGordon11) and it's a powerful and much needed reminder that all of us have the ability to be a leader in life. Find his site HERE. In case you have not noticed, the world needs us more than ever! He reminds us: “You are a leader!” You may not have a title. You may not have people report to you. Maybe you never thought of yourself as a leader. But I'm here to tell you that if you live a life of integrity… If you show others what discipline, consistency and devotion look like… If you encourage someone today… If people know you believe in them… If you lend someone a helping hand… If you lift someone up with your words… If you coach a friend through a challenging situation… If you solve a client's problem… If you guide a customer in the right direction… If you hold your friends accountable… If you get a child to eat their vegetables… If you love, serve and care…If you impact the life of another human being… You are a leader! Lead well! Lead Positive!” Such a powerful post with powerful examples for all of us. I shared this post with this thought: “Amazing truth here … many so-called / self-described “leaders” are out there needing to take lessons from real leaders, real people… integrity / character shine so brightly for those that “… love, serve and care…”! We need more of this!” It astounds me that we have so many people with titles that think they are leaders, yet they simply make things worse for others and certainly don't look to serve others. Once again, that's why we all have the ability to make a difference in this world. The funeral service I went to this past weekend… a 19 year old girl… was a difference maker on so many levels! The holidays are here, the cards are swiped, and a lot of you are sitting there doing the math you've been avoiding all year. In this 12 Days of Giving episode, Daniela shares the story of a single mom in Richmond, Virginia who was one denial away from a full breakdown: new apartment, two little girls, $10K in credit card debt, and zero clue how to keep from getting evicted again. This isn't a cute budgeting story. This is “I'm at the edge of the cliff and I don't know what the hell to do next.” Daniela walks us through how she sat down with this mom and started at the absolute basics: what a budget actually is, what savings actually means, and why pulling your credit report is non-negotiable even when you're terrified of what you'll see. When they pulled it, the truth hit: multiple cards, sky-high APRs, and $10K of debt that her paycheck could not support. But here's where it flips. Instead of shame and “you're bad with money,” they built a plan: lay out every card, every APR, every balance. Tackle the ones that give you the biggest win fastest. Call the creditors and tell the damn truth about what's going on. Negotiate. Get the APR down. Build short-term and long-term wins so she's not just surviving the month, she's rebuilding her life. And they did one more powerful thing most people skip: they brought her two little girls into the conversation and turned money into a game, not a threat. We also dig into the emotional side: what it feels like to be at the edge versus already over it, why people wait until the last possible second to ask for help, and how involving your kids can actually speed up your own mindset shift. Daniela talks about using vision boards, values, and real talk to anchor someone before you ever touch the spreadsheets. Because if your head is still in “I'll never get out of this,” no plan will save you. Then we turn the camera on you. If you're approaching the edge, standing on it, or already hanging off financially, this episode is your wake-up call. Daniela doesn't sugar-coat it: it's never too late, but it is on you. No one is coming to fix this for you. Small wins, boring habits, and asking for help early is how you change the story. I close the episode by calling out exactly what we all know: you just spent a ton of money on the holidays, you're feeling it, and now is the moment to move—not “next year,” not “when things calm down.”This is one of our 12 Days of Giving episodes running December 12–23, where we highlight real stories, real mess, and real ways forward. **APPLICATIONS CLOSE 12/31/25 FOR IMPACT COLLECTIVE MASTERMIND** The $700K–$1M stage is a pivotal moment for many nonprofit consulting firms. Visibility increases, stronger talent begins to find you, and leadership demands rise in ways that often feel heavier than expected. This is the phase where achievement must shift from personal client work to team success, and where many consultants plateau without meaning to. In this episode, I unpack what actually changes at this level, including the move toward a full-time team, the need to simplify and refine your offer, the importance of operational and financial maturity, and the leadership and mindset shifts required to stop rescuing the business and start leading it. This stage is not just about growth. It is about evolving into the kind of leader your business now requires so growth becomes sustainable instead of exhausting. Better Together!

Most routes bleed time and money during filter season, not because the work is hard, but because the system behind it is fuzzy. We break down a simple framework that keeps your margins healthy, your schedule predictable, and your clients happy: when to clean, how to price, what to replace, and which tools shave minutes off every stop.We start with the big decision: include filter cleaning in your monthly price or bill it separately. For regions running full-size cartridge and DE filters, separating the charge boosts accountability and keeps your bids competitive. From there, we compare four-month and six-month schedules.Next, we go tactical. Learn how batching by filter type reduces on-truck inventory and speeds decisions, what spare parts to carry for common DE and cartridge models, and how a three-year replacement cycle for grids and quad cartridges prevents messy mid-summer failures. We talk through efficient upsells, when a full grid assembly swap pays off, and why pairing salt cell cleaning with filter service saves steps. Maintenance timing matters too: rebuild backwash valves during shoulder seasons to prevent leaks and headaches in July. In this episode of the Growing Pains series, I walk you through what happens when your consulting business reaches this stage, where scalable operations, stronger systems, and early full-time hiring become essential. You'll hear the stories of two fictional consultants, Riley and Jean, who both begin this phase in the low four hundreds but experience very different outcomes. Their experiences illustrate why some consultants get stuck here and what helps others move forward with clarity and stability. I'll discuss the exact framework I've refined over 30 years: morning ritual, contact strategy, midday reset, afternoon structure, and the key metrics you must track to build unstoppable momentum every single day. What You'll Learn: Why a world-class morning ritual sets the tone for peak performance Why chunking your day and taking real breaks keeps your energy and focus sharp Why minimizing distractions and setting firm daily standards eliminates procrastination and boosts output Timestamps: (05:06) Why shifting to an activity-based plan unlocks real productivity (09:56) How knowing your meeting slots creates scalability and control (15:32) How your lunch choices can boost your productivity (17:55) Why having a hard stop eliminates procrastination (21:31) Why tracking five simple KPIs keeps your growth on track (23:04) When and where should you build your game plan (24:37) Why every advisor needs an autoresponder (26:05) The one question that should end every workday The Magellan Academy & Network The rules and tools for success in the financial services industry are about to change radically. I have spent over 25 years coaching only financial advisors. In that time, I have personally conducted over 50,000 individual coaching sessions. I have built a profound knowledge base of what it takes to achieve lifelong success in business and life. In my career, I have transformed 1,000's of advisors (below are video and written testimonials by many of them). I am going to coach you, teach you, inspire you, and train you all on your mobile device every business day. You are going to get better at business development, practice management, personal development, and your vision. Here is what you are going to get from me each month: - A 5-10 minute morning coach video each business day. - 3 training videos of 20-30 minutes each. This will be a deep dive into four areas I mentioned above. - A live group coaching session where you and I can interact and work together. Here is what you can do each month: - Post a question to me and I will answer it. - Collaborate and associate with like-minded advisors. - Invite other great advisors into the network. Your Bottom Line: Here is the deal. I am not going to ask you for a credit card. Like I said before, coaching is personality driven. You might not like my style or tactics. So with that in mind here is my offer to you. Complete the short form below. You will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to join the network for the next 14-days. I personally approve each submission so this might take a few hours or a day at the most. I will not ask for compensation of any kind during that 14-days. Buffalo dominated with disciplined tackling, a clear defensive identity, and an offensive plan built on controlling the line of scrimmage. From Christian Benford shadowing DK Metcalf, to Shaq Thompson's calming impact, to a run game that racked up 249 yards even when the defense knew what was coming… this was a sound gameplan.▶️ Hit subscribe for weekly X's & O's film sessions!
For weeks, we've been talking about the Leader's Dashboard.Vision. Mission. Values. Edge. Key Initiatives. Performance. Relationships. Development.Eight elements that give you clarity on who you are, where you're going, and how you'll get there."How do I actually build this?"Here's the reality: You can't build a Leader's Dashboard in an hour. You can't do it between meetings. You can't squeeze it into a performance review or a strategic planning session. You need dedicated time. Space. Focus. That's why I created the Executive Game Plan Intensive. It's a full-day process where we step away from the noise, away from the fires, the emails, the demands, and we build your Dashboard. Not surface-level. Not corporate speak. Real clarity.By the end of the day, you walk away with:✅ Your Leader's Dashboard (all 8 elements, integrated)✅ Your 90-day Game Plan (clear priorities and actions)✅ Your baselines (the non-negotiables you won't drop below)✅ Clarity on what matters most (and what doesn't)In this week's newsletter and podcast, I'm taking you inside the Intensive:Why it takes a full day (and why shortcuts don't work)What the process actually looks likeWhat you walk away withWhy leaders say it's transformativeBecause information doesn't change you. Integration does.
Wolf and Luke discuss what the offensive gameplan should look like for the Arizona Cardinals against the Los Angeles Rams and how long the Phoenix Suns could stay afloat without Devin Booker.

Give Us Your Ideas For Next The PassivePockets Summit! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vwcvF1z03HYiKmR3a4JN8up0ja4kgKPzG2bCGS6640c/viewform?edit_requested=true This Episode It's the November PassivePockets Pulse Check. Jim Pfeifer, Paul Shannon, and Chris Lopez share what's new in their portfolios, the real impact of the Fed's second rate cut, the tool you should use this month (sponsor reviews—now updatable), and how they're setting concrete goals for 2026. Plus: a big announcement: PassivePockets Summit is in Denver, April 30 (arrival) - May 2. Vote on sessions and networking ideas via the survey in the link above. Key Takeaways Portfolio check: capital back from an Aspen Funds industrial deal (tribe structure), 30% return of capital from a Threefold sale, and an unfortunate likely loss tied to the DJE/Ascent situation, why operator integrity and transparency matter Real deals in motion: Paul's Indiana acquisition fully subscribed (rate locked), and an Evansville 56-unit true-distress LOI/PSA walkthrough (what those terms mean and why the team thinks it's a fast operational turn) Rates: two cuts this fall (~50 bps total) boosted sentiment but barely moved longer-term agency debt; example: 7-yr Treasury + spread shifted only ~6 bps between application and lock Outlook: expect a trickle, not a tsunami, of distress into 2026 as “extend & pretend” maturities roll; bid/ask is narrowing, which may push lenders to act Tools & goals: update your Sponsor Reviews (and why “update” notes help the community); Chris is rebalancing toward private credit and Roth-powered compounding, Jim is doubling down on trusted operators and liquidity discipline, and Paul is rotating from cash/metals into equity while keeping a family financial “in case of emergency” plan current Disclaimer The content of this podcast is for informational purposes only. I found an awesome post from Aaron Babicz '93 (@DETROITCCAD) who is the Athletic Director at my high school Novi Detroit Catholic Central. He shared this post after our football team won the State Championship here in Michigan. He titled this “ALWAYS CLIMBING”, and it describes this quote - “How Lucky We Are To Wake Up And Try Again.” First of all there are plenty of people that didn't get to wake up today. The same will happen tomorrow and every day. What are you always climbing towards? This is way more than athletics (as much of sports is = Life Lessons). What do we get to try again with today? I know there are plenty for me to choose from, with gratitude that I get to look to work on today. Love this reminder! Take it to heart and see where you can connect with what @inkyjohnson reminds us too. “What fulfills me?” Powerful question to tie into what we get to do (choose to do) each and every day!! Stay fired up my friends! Thanks for listening. NFL player Rae Carruth was accused of conspiring to murder his pregnant girlfriend, Cherica Adams, to avoid child support payments. The critical evidence used in the trial included Cherica's 911 call and handwritten notes, which was met with objections due to Carruth not being able to question his accuser. Would this be a landmark case for the rights of the accused? And, as always, would justice be served? --For early, ad free episodes and monthly exclusive bonus content, join our Patreon!
