Episode 214: In this episode of Accelerate, host Nicola Graham is joined by Chris Bodman — a Chartered Performance Psychologist who has helped guide Olympic athletes to podium performances and now works with executives and founders navigating high-pressure environments. Chris' career began in strength and conditioning, where he spent over a decade developing athletes physically before shifting his focus to the psychological side of performance. That transition led him to work across some of the UK's leading high-performance systems, including the England and Wales Cricket Board, Rugby Football Union, and the UK Sports Institute, as well as supporting the England Women's Cricket Team. In 2021, Chris founded LMNTARY Performance — a consultancy designed to translate the mental frameworks used in elite sport into the worlds of leadership, entrepreneurship, and business performance. Across the conversation, Chris shares how the principles that underpin success in high-performance sport — clarity of purpose, adaptability under pressure, and sustainable habits — can be applied far beyond the sporting arena. The discussion explores the realities of burnout, the importance of psychological flexibility, and how individuals and organisations can build environments that support long-term performance rather than short bursts of intensity. ㅤ Topics Discussed: Chris' journey from strength & conditioning into performance psychology Lessons from working within elite sport systems Translating sport psychology frameworks into business Purpose, burnout, and sustaining high performance Adaptability and decision-making under pressure Building environments that support long-term success — Where you can find Chris: LinkedIn Website Instagram X - Sponsors Gameplan is a rehab Project Management & Data Analytics Platform that improves operational & communication efficiency during rehab. “Send Coach John a message”I found an outstanding post that I wanted to share with you today. It comes from my friend - Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) “Purpose is magnetic! It attracts the right energy & repels the rest. Move with intention, not ego. Inspire some, challenge others—that's how real impact happens. Stay focused, authentic & let your purpose lead. If some feel inspired & others are challenged, you're doing it right.” This is Mark's take on the video clip I played for you today. You can find the link for Devante Warner (@imdevantewarner) HERE. Take lots of Before and After Photos to Track Your Progres This year we are doing my group coaching course together via this podcast! It's free and it only gets better as the year progresses. In January we began with God at the center of our day and our home. We worked to build the habit of a morning prayer routine. I highly recommend the rosary. It's only about 20 minutes and you'll meditate on the whole life of Jesus. February is the month of decluttering. Saturday episodes have been added to focus on decluttering in the kitchen. Each month will have a different focus area and the Saturday episodes will help you focus on one small section of that room. If you're new here, welcome and give this first episode of 2026 a listen to hear where to begin: 316. Your 2026 Life Overhaul Plan: Faith, Clutter, Debt, Diet and More! If you've never prayed a rosary or you want to see how you can incorporate it into active decluttering, here is the first episode of my rosary declutter series from last summer. 288. When you control the capital, you control the strategy. In this episode, the hosts break down the different types of private and hard money lenders operating in today's market and how each model approaches risk, leverage, borrower relationships, and deal flow. From ultra-conservative lenders focused on low LTV collateral to relationship-driven lenders offering high leverage to trusted borrowers, there's no single "right" way to structure a lending business. You'll hear real-world examples of lending models used across the country—including nationwide lenders, commercial-only funds, long-term rental lenders, land lenders, and niche operators who have built highly profitable strategies by focusing on a specific borrower or deal type. “Send Coach John a message”I was able to connect with two important relationship reminders here. The first came from Clint Hurdle (@ClintHurdle13) “Life's not a solo sport. It's a team game.” Nobody does anything in life without the help of others. It's one of the truths that every human being (I think), needs to understand. Those that do get this, usually have many more opportunities than those that don't. The second one came from Alan Stein, Jr. (@AlanSteinJr), where he shared this gem about the fact that loyalty is really created from relationships: “People are not loyal to jobs. They are not loyal to businesses. They are loyal to other people. Relationships create loyalty.” This is why relationships matter. This is what life is all about… relationships! I've been finding more and more postings, discussions, readings, etc., on the importance of relationships. My thoughts here on my repost: Coach John Daly (@coachtosuccess) “One reason why always working on improving our relationships is a key part of everyday life!” This is really one of the main things to keep working on throughout every day of our lives! Episode 213: In this episode, Andy McDonald is joined by Tom Clark — a sports scientist and performance coach with over a decade of experience working at the highest levels of elite sport. Currently completing a doctorate focused on jet lag and circadian disruption, Tom brings rare, first-hand insight into the challenges of global travel in high-performance environments. Having coached across the world in Formula One, his work centres on understanding how travel fatigue, disrupted sleep, and circadian misalignment influence athlete readiness and performance. Across the conversation, Tom unpacks the realities of jet lag in elite sport — exploring how travel affects physiological rhythms, why its impact varies between athletes, and how practitioners can better assess and manage it within performance systems. The discussion also examines practical interventions to minimise disruption, alongside the role of new technologies designed to support high-performance travel. ㅤ Topics Discussed: • Understanding jet lag • Impact of travel and circadian disruption on performance • Assessing jet lag in athletes • Key interventions to reduce travel fatigue • Phaze — a solution for high-performance travel - Where you can find Tom: LinkedIn Website Instagram - Sponsors Gameplan is a rehab Project Management & Data Analytics Platform that improves operational & communication efficiency during rehab. Stress. We all feel it in some way…big or small. And it's not that stress is actually bad. It's that under-recovered stress is potentially deadly. This week on the IMPACT SHOW, we're talking about something every single one of us deals with — stress. And not just surface-level stress. I'm talking about the kind that builds quietly over time. The kind that high performers carry. The kind that can cost you your health if you're not careful. My guest today is Derek Clark — performance coach, speaker, and founder of the Stress Recovery Game Plan. Derek's story will stop you in your tracks. In his 40s, after years of operating at a high level, he was diagnosed with high blood pressure… which led to open-heart surgery… which was followed by a cancer diagnosis. This isn't theory. This is lived experience. And what he discovered is something we ALL need to hear — stress isn't the enemy. Under-recovered stress is. This episode will challenge you, wake you up, and equip you with tools you can use immediately. In this episode, you'll hear and learn: The difference between strategic, tactical, and responsive stress — and which one is silently draining most high performers. Why "chronic stress" is really under-recovered stress — and how to start correcting it. Derek's powerful 4-step Stress Recovery Game Plan to regain balance daily. Why mindset and sleep are the two most important levers you can pull starting tonight. Practical strategies to improve recovery — from HRV awareness to breathwork to building a better pre-sleep routine. The "Flip the Coin" mindset tool to reframe setbacks and turn adversity into fuel. Some of the questions inside this week's IMPACT SHOW include: You've used the term "stress-oholic." What do you mean by that—and how did you realize you were living that way? Most people think stress is the enemy. You say stress is misunderstood. What do most of us get wrong about stress? How do you personally define stress today, and how is that definition different than the typical "stress is bad" narrative? Can you walk us through what stress is actually doing in the body—physiologically—when someone feels anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in overdrive? At what point did you realize you didn't need more stress management… you needed a recovery strategy? Can you break down the 4 steps of the Stress Recovery Game Plan™ and what each step helps people do? What are some of the 7 recovery tactics inside the Stress Recovery Game Plan, and which ones tend to give people the fastest results early on? If someone is in a season of life where stress feels nonstop—work, family, health—what's the first "small win" you'd recommend to start regaining control? What do you say to high performers who feel like recovery is "lazy," "soft," or something they'll do later when life slows down? Here's the bottom line: you don't need less ambition. You need better recovery. If you're building something big — a business, a career, a family, a legacy — stress will be part of the equation. The key is learning how to balance it so it builds you instead of breaking you. If this episode hits home, share it with someone who needs it. Post it to your story. Text it to your business partner or spouse. And if you're serious about elevating your health and performance this year, take one action from this episode and implement it TODAY. I hope you enjoyed today's episode. “Send Coach John a message”I found a great reminder for me and for you and it comes from: Jaime Boswell (@JaimeBoswell2) “Champions Know… Our excuses aren't special. Everyone is busy. Everyone is tired. Everyone has obstacles. The difference isn't the circumstances, it's the mindset. Winners find a way to get it done. Everyone else finds a reason why they can't. Decide which one you are.” What a powerful reminder for all of us and the person looking back at us in the mirror! “Send Coach John a message”Saw an amazing reminder today to always carry around with us, from: Alan Stein, Jr. (@AlanSteinJr) “Always give without remembering. Always receive without forgetting.” There has been many historical lessons from many different sources throughout life - this is one of the main ones for humans to connect with, and yet we seem to struggle with this. We don't keep score of who owes us, but yet, we should always remember those that help us for sure. Again, easy to see on paper but more challenging to put action behind it in our everyday lives! It was also echoed from The Mindfulness Meditation Institute (@TrainingMindful) just a few posts before Alan's. This one shared this thought: “The happiest people are the givers, not the takers.” Both of these remind me of what Professor Morrie Schwartz said to Mitch Albom - from the book “Tuesdays With Morrie”: “When I give to others, I feel alive. When I take from others, I feel like I'm dying.” The world needs more givers. This is something that I'm trying to do more of for sure. Morrie was right. The world also needs more examples to learn from on how to give more too. Thanks for listening. In his first term as governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro has managed to sustain a 60% approval rating—including 30% of Trump voters—in a quintessential battleground state. How? Shapiro talks Harry through his bipartisan, pragmatic approach to governing, and how it can overcome Trump's reckless, divisive style. He lays out a roadmap for countering the president's most abusive policies, even while respecting the "righteous frustration" that motivated his voters. And Governor Shapiro is coming to San Diego for a live, in-person conversation with Harry about his memoir. Welcome back to The Leadership Boost. I'm Shaun Smit.Today I want to speak to a slightly different audience, or maybe to the leader in you who remembers being that person. We're talking about graduates. University students. Young professionals just starting out.Because here's something I see constantly: incredibly talented young people who worked hard, got the qualification, crossed the stage, and then hit a wall. Not because they're not capable. Not because they don't have potential. But because nobody ever taught them how to build a game plan for their career. And that matters. Because the leaders we develop today are the ones making decisions tomorrow.
Trump had a closed-door campaign meeting, and we have some details. Plus, the left is giving Jasmine Crockett the 2016 Bernie Sanders treatment.
This isn't a “sit back and listen” episode. This is a hands-on, action-packed planning workshop designed to help you map out your most successful, productive, and intentional 2026 — starting with Q1.Grab your workbook, get your pen and paper ready, and give yourself the space to actually think (not just react to life).Inside this workshop, I take you through the exact process I've refined since 2019 — the same framework I use with my clients and at retreats — to help you turn big dreams into a real plan you can execute. In this episode, we'll work through:Why I don't do fluffy webinars — and why this workshop gives you the what + the howThe “overwhelmed business owner circle” (and how to get out of survival mode)A rapid-fire 2025 reflection so you don't drag the same patterns into 2026Rating your life + business (so you know what actually needs attention)A short vision exercise to create clarity for your “best year” directionYour Misogi: one bold, scary moment that upgrades the other 364 daysOne winning habit per quarter (so you don't overload yourself and quit)Your North Star (purpose/values) so your plan doesn't fall apart mid-yearTurning goals into KPIs, priorities, and action steps (the cake analogy you'll never forget)Building your Q1 plan so you can have the strongest first quarter you've ever hadThis is the kind of episode you'll pause, rewind, and come back to.Because the goal isn't motivation — it's transformation through execution.

“Send Coach John a message”I found this post and it connected with me right away. I didn't have to read it again (although I did), but it's one that I hope each and everyone of you connect with and remember the truth from this post. It comes from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) “You become truly unstoppable when you invest in what no one can take from you: your character, your habits, your mindset, your discipline, your resilience, and your attitude.” This is something that empowers me to do more, to keep getting better and to keep putting my focus and energy into these things that I truly do control. The big time key is that you can do the same for yourself. You don't need anyone's permission to work on these areas. I don't either - other than myself. I need to get out of my way to take care of these things every day. I'm fired up about it. Hope you are too for you! Speaking of being Fired Up - Here is the link to the John O'Leary interview with Rudy Ruettiger - from the movie, RUDY. Thanks for listening. Welcome to another episode of Game Plan! It has been a while since we have done one of these Game Plan episodes so to quickly review: These episodes are specifically designed for patients. They are designed to hopefully answer some of the questions you have about the most common sports medicine conditions, injury prevention and treatment options.Today we're talking about pickleball – the fastest growing sport in the United States. From 2019- 2021, the number of pickleball players increased from 3.3 to 4.8 million. The reason for the growth of the sport is likely multifactorial, including that it encompasses a wide variety of age ranges, it is easy to understand and it is inexpensive to play. However, with this steady growth has come a corresponding linear rise in pickleball injuries. And these injuries are not inexpensive, costing between 250 to 500 million dollars in 2023 alone.Pickleball is a paddle sport that takes aspects from tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Now, we were going to try to explain the pickleball rules here, and how it differs from other racquet sports. But, USA Pickleball has a really nice 5-minute video on their website (usapickleball.org) that quickly summarizes the basic rules. If you are interested in learning more about this game, definitely check out their website. It should be noted that the rules and scoring system are currently variable. But as more competitions arise, more standardization to the game will likely follow, as is the trend with most sports.Today, we're reviewing an article published in the November 2024 issue of the yellow journal titled “Pickleball: A Standard Review of Injury Prevalence and Prevention in a Rapidly Growing Sport.” This study compiled data from retrospective studies containing emergency department data and case reports of specific injuries sustained while playing pickleball. The authors also utilized a customized survey to capture outpatient data of current pickleball players seen in outpatient orthopedic facilities and at local pickleball events.

After more than two decades in business, Kim Oser realized that working harder was not the answer. The missing piece was structure. In this episode of Dear FoundHer from the Forum, Kim, founder of Game Plan Organizing, shares the shift that changed everything. After years of strong results, she realized the real barrier was not the quality of her work but how clearly she could articulate it. Once she stopped winging her own growth and built a clear plan, her business momentum followed.Kim opens up about moving from inconsistent marketing to confident storytelling, and how clarity in her message led to stronger referrals and a calendar that finally reflected the value of her work. She also talks about rebranding, not as a fix, but as an evolution. Game Plan Organizing gave her the language to lead more strategically and the confidence to say no to work that no longer aligned. As demand grew, so did questions about capacity and sustainability. Those questions ultimately led to Clear Game Plan, an online program designed to help people get organized without shame or overwhelm. Throughout the episode, one theme remains constant. Growth became possible and sustainable because it was supported by community, accountability, and shared perspective. This conversation is for anyone who knows their work is solid but feels stuck explaining it, scaling it, or sustaining it without burning out.Episode Breakdown:00:00 Women Founders and the Power of Community01:55 What Game Plan Organizing Is and Why Planning Comes First02:52 When Experience Is Not the Problem but Marketing Clarity Is05:36 How Clear Storytelling Led to Referrals and a Full Calendar07:32 Rebranding a Service Business for Strategic Growth11:17 Using Events and Partnerships to Build Trust and Visibility14:09 Scaling Beyond Personal Capacity with an Online Program17:26 Why Community Accelerated Business GrowthConnect with Kim Oser:Follow Kim on Instagram Follow the Game Plan Organizing on Facebook Connect with Game Plan Organizing on LinkedInVisit the Game Plan Organizing websiteSubscribe to The FoundHer Files Follow Dear FoundHer on Instagram Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm Hosted on Acast. What was that offensive game plan by the Patriots?
“Send Coach John a message”I found this gem from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) and it is a short, yet powerful thought… “Consistency is the silent engine of extraordinary results.” Every day. Every way to just keep going!! It's one of those things that again, nobody has to know about what you are doing or how often you are doing them. Those that love you will know without you even telling them. It's a reminder to me to keep doing what I have to do every day. It's a choice to keep showing up to do the things I know I have to do. It's my honor to keep being my best in being a dad, husband, son, uncle, brother, etc. I can't take any of those roles for granted. Wow.. love this thought! Something to carry with us wherever we go!! Thanks for listening. In this episode of The Dept. Omar is joined by Brandon Flakes and Art.mp4 to break down one of the most powerful (and overlooked) ways to build a personal brand today: stop trying to make content and start being the content. They unpack how trust is built by simply showing your real work, conversations, and process without scripts, hacks, or perfection. From filming everyday moments and meetings, to why consistency beats polish, to how this approach has directly led to millions in business, this episode gives a practical, freeing framework for creators, entrepreneurs, and leaders who want visibility without burnout. If you want to build a brand people trust, grow your influence organically, and turn your life and work into leverage, this conversation will completely change how you think about content.
