Going out is hard now, not just because it is relatively anxiety inducing, but because the masks fog up my glasses and the bandanas keep falling off, so it's a lose-lose-lose proposition no matter what. My only release is running, which is a different kind of lose. This episode we're talking about Natsume Ono's Ristorante Paradiso and Inio Asano's Downfall, both published by Viz. It's also more spoiler-y than usual, so heads up. The song you heard in the episode were "Marigold" by orange pekoe and "Suteki na Kajitsu" by Lisa Komine from the Ristorante Paradiso anime. As always, you can find me on Twitter @ImpassionateK, and my co-hosts Helen (@WanderinDreamr) and Apryll (@manjiorin) on Twitter at those places in the parenthesis. You can find both of their writing at The Organization of Anti-Social Geniuses, more of Helen's writing at Narrative Investigations, and my writing at the Fandom Post. You can watch Ristorante Paradiso free and legal on Nozomi's YouTube channel (as of this posting). Listen Show notes: 0:39 - We talk about Ristorante Paradiso! 9:05 - We talk about Downfall! 15:57 - Downfall spoilers. Next time is Cross Manage and Blue Flag! The KAITO episode.

Podcasts are a good way, during this time of stay-at-home orders and global pandemics, to have real human interaction with real other humans, and not just coworkers over IM or email or gritting through your teeth at the other folks in line at the grocery store, praying they don't cough. Anyway, stay safe everyone, and wash your hands. This episode, we're talking about Shinobu Ohtaka's Magi published by Viz and Asumiko Nakamura's Classmates published by Seven Seas. The song you heard on this episode is "The Bravery" by supercell from the Magi anime. This week we watched the first three episodes of Ristorante Paradiso. Synopsis: Rome, Italy When she was a child, Nicoletta was taken in by her grandmother so that her mother could remarry. Now grown up, she leaves everything in the countryside behind to visit her mother and her mother's second husband, a ristorante owner. To her surprise, her stepfather did not know his wife had a daughter! Delicious food and dreamy gentlemen await at the ristorante, casetta dell'orso. Welcome back for another episode of Chris' Manga Corner!Download the episode here! This time Dan and I talk about Ristorante Paradiso by Natsume Ono. This was a different experience to talk about as not even I had read this book before making Dan read it. What do we think????
As a result of the hidden catches of web hosting, this podcast MAY VANISH FOREVER (or temporarily), but not before Gerald reviews Astro Fighter Sunred, Clarissa reviews Ristorante Paradiso, and Daryl reviews Sword of the Stranger! Visit www.animeworldorder.com for full show notes and supplemental links.
Hosts: Evan "Vampt Vo" Minto, Karl "Uncle Yo" Custer Topics: Natsu no Arashi (2009), Shikabane Hime: Kuro (2009), Ristorante Paradiso (2009), Shangri-La (2009) The formidable Uncle Yo makes his triumphant return to the podcast to help with our Spring 2009 Anime Season preview (and to insult Russians, theatre-goers, pink-haired people, and pretty much everybody else). We've got four different anime up for discussion, as well as our usual "What'cha Been Doing?" and "Link of the Day" segments. Oh yeah, Evan mentions in this episode that we have a contest going on. If you were unclear on how the rules work, go ahead and read up on them in the show notes, or send us an email to clarify. And as a final note: Our next episode will most likely feature the awesome voice actor/podcaster Kyle Hebert as a guest-host. That is, as long as Evan can find a chance to play Street Fighter IV, the topic of our upcoming discussion. Look forward to it.
