A quest'ora sarebbero salvi. Io resto qualche secondo in silenzio. «Ci arriviamo a terra?», chiedo.

Prosecutors allege Cox, 69, struck Pugh in a marked crosswalk after leaving a holiday party. Cox refused sobriety tests, admitting to drinking “three beers” and taking medication. Police noted signs of impairment but no slurred speech. Evidence presented included bar receipts showing multiple beers ordered by Cox's group earlier and testimony about the catastrophic brain injuries that led to Pugh's death. Defense attorneys questioned the receipt's accuracy, highlighted poor visibility at the crash scene, and argued Cox's demeanor did not indicate intoxication. The trial, criticized for its slow pace, continues amid debates over evidence admissibility and witness questioning. STORY 2:     Church Street Park Opens in Marietta Church Street Park has opened in downtown Marietta, transforming a former parking lot along the Mountain to River Trail into a vibrant community greenspace. Developed by Bridger Properties, the park features landscaping, seating, swings, bike racks, and a turfed area usable by nearby restaurants. The space complements the Church Street development, hosting businesses like Contrast Artisan Ales, Bom, and 7 Tequilas, with Gianni & Mac's Ristorante and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams set to open soon. The developers aim to connect Marietta's Square and Market while creating an inviting area for families and patrons. The park will also be an open container zone, enhancing its appeal as a social hub. Based in Marietta, the organization offers essential services like emergency shelter, legal advocacy, and counseling for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Each year, 15 women leaders are recognized for their exceptional contributions to their professions, volunteer work, and the community. The 2025 honorees were chosen through a competitive process and will join the prestigious Academy of Women Leaders. The awards gala will take place on March 21 at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest, featuring a reception, dinner, auctions, and more, with one honoree being named Woman of the Year. This event underscores the profound impact of these leaders while supporting LiveSafe's mission to empower survivors.     We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.799.6810 for more info.    We'll be right back    Break: DRAKE (Drake Realty (Cobb County)   STORY 4:  Kennesaw Mountain Visitors Get a History Lesson Post-Holiday Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park saw many visitors post-Thanksgiving, with guests exploring the historic site and shaking off holiday chaos. Park ranger Amanda Corman led an insightful talk on the role of artillery in the Civil War, focusing on the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. She highlighted differences between smoothbore and rifled cannons and their impact during the Atlanta Campaign. Visitors learned about the Confederate Army's high-ground advantage and viewed artifacts from the battle. History buffs and families, including those visiting from Estonia, praised the educational experience, emphasizing the importance of understanding history to shape the future. STORY 5:  First Stretch of 100-Mile Trail Project Opens in South Cobb The first segment of the Chattahoochee RiverLands trail, a 0.7-mile stretch at Discovery Park at Riverline in Mableton, was unveiled and hailed as the start of a 100-mile greenway connecting 19 cities along the river. This ambitious project, born from a $1 million investment by Cobb County, aims to improve river access and foster economic development, community connection, and environmental preservation. Over $43 million has been secured for the RiverLands in Cobb, including $25 million in public funding. Future plans include extending the trail to Mableton Parkway by 2026 as part of a decades-long effort to complete the entire network, transforming the region with expanded green space and recreational opportunities.   We'll be back in a moment    Break: Ingles Markets 9 STORY 6:  47-Home Midway Road Subdivision Proposed The Cobb Planning Commission will review Poston Properties' proposal for a 47-home subdivision on Midway Road near Lost Mountain Park. The plan features traditional and craftsman-style homes with at least 2,200 square feet and two-car garages. The developer seeks open space community zoning, which would preserve 50% of the 48.67-acre property as permanently protected open space, including walking trails and park areas. A mandatory HOA and a 100-foot buffer from the neighboring Broadlands subdivision are also proposed. Previously delayed in October, the plan aims to balance development with conservation while enhancing the community. STORY 7:  UPDATE: Man Killed in Smyrna Hit-and-Run Cobb County Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Smyrna that killed 30-year-old Jose Ortega-Dominguez early Saturday morning. Around 4:30 a.m., Ortega-Dominguez was struck by a westbound vehicle while walking outside a marked crosswalk on Pat Mell Road, near Green Acres Elementary School. The driver fled the scene without stopping. Ortega-Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family has been notified. Mike Barber, Lorraine Barber and Aaron Lee. Lorraine Barber, co-founder of Barber Lee Spirits, is our guest on Brew Ha Ha with Steve Jaxon and Herlinda Heras. This is her first time on the show, but Lorraine's husband Mike Barber was on Brew Ha Ha on this episode recorded on Nov. 4, 2019. Lorraine and Mike Barber also operate Barber Cellars which produces estate grown, hand-crafted Sonoma County wines. Lorraine describes their operation as “grain to glass” which means, “from the raw ingredient to the finished product, everything is fermented, distilled, aged, and bottled under their own roof.” They opened in the beginning of 2019, just in time for the pandemic. The name Barber Lee Spirits comes from the three partners, Lorraine Barber, her husband Mike Barber and their partner Aaron Lee. Read their whole story on this page of their site. Russian River Brewing Co. is open in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Visit their website for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more. Barber Lee Spirits' address is 120 Washington St., Petaluma, CA 94952, which is located next to the Petaluma hotel in downtown Petaluma, on a lively street near many other restaurants and bars including Volpi's Ristorante and Bar. They are open Wednesday through Sunday. See their 'visit the distillery' page for hours and phone. Wednesdays are Happy Hour All Day with half-priced cocktails. They serve tasting flights of their spirits and also have an extensive cocktail menu. Deviled Egg Competition This year they held their 3rd annual deviled egg competition which is a lot of fun and is a benefit for Petaluma People's Services. They also organize the Holiday Food Fair the Thursday before Thanksgiving, at the Petaluma Hotel. The annual Holiday Food Fair got started in 2017 when many local businesses were depressed. They set up an indoor farmers market featuring only local producers, to connect them with customers. See our sponsor Victory House at Poppy Bank Epicenter online, for their latest viewing and menu options. Among the spirits they make in Lambanog, a Philippine specialty made from coconut juice. Their partner Aaron Lee tried it on a visit there and he was able to source dehydrated palm nectar for their production. It is 100 proof so at that strength it makes an excellent mixer. It's not sweet but has a toasted coconut flavor. It is a white spirit so they don't age it. Lorraine describes their pursuit of spirits that are interesting and unusual, like absinthe and rum made with piloncillo sugar from Mexico. There is also a locally sourced Gravenstein Apple Brandy. She's Canadian so she also thought of doing the most Canadian thing she could, which is a maple finished rye. The maple syrup aged in the whiskey barrels is delicious. Barber Cellars has been making wine for about 18 years. The wine tasting room and distillery tasting room are next to each other in Petaluma. They are busy right now "doing punchdowns" after harvest. They also have a cheese shop and she has brought some cheeses, like a Brabander from the Netherlands and a Mimolette from France and many others. They offer a rotating selection of exotic cheeses. This episode is presented by Bristol Brewing, a Side Dish Dozen member. Bristol Brewing celebrates 30 years of brewing beer in Colorado Springs this year, and has created a destination for high quality craft beer and food inside the old Ivywild Elementary building. Visit https://www.bristolbrewing.com to find out what's on tap! In this episode of tap&table, co-hosts Ryan and Matthew had to pull out the collared shirts as they sit down with three of The Broadmoor's talented chefs: Randi Powell, Rocio Palmer and Tia Allen. These incredibly talented women are raising the bar at each of their establishments inside the Springs' five-star hotel at the mouth of Cheyenne Canon. About the Chefs: Randi Powell is now Chef de Cuisine at Ristorante del Lago, known for authentic Italian dining. Most recently, Powell was The Broadmoor's Wilderness Chef, overseeing culinary operations at Cloud Camp, the Ranch at Emerald Valley, and Fly Fishing Camp. She was raised in Connecticut and attended Colorado College before starting her culinary career in The Broadmoor's Culinary Apprenticeship Program, where her first kitchen was (fittingly) Del Lago. Rocio Neyra Palmer is Chef de Cuisine at Summit, an American Brassiere. Palmer was raised in Peru, where she fell in love with the culinary arts by sharing a kitchen with her grandmother. She formally studied cooking in culinary school but also pursued a degree in farming and agronomy, which has deeply informed her devotion to seasonality and whole-animal, zero waste cooking. She joined The Broadmoor in 2008 as an International Culinary Extern and has held a litany of positions at the resort, most recently as sous chef at Ristorante del Lago. Chef Tia Allen is the Executive Sous Chef of Restaurants at The Broadmoor. Chef Tia has been a valued member of the Culinary Brigade at The Broadmoor since October 2014. Chef Tia originally joined from the Sea Island Resort in Georgia where she spent 6 years honing her skills in various outlets. Throughout her 9 years with us, Chef Tia has ventured into a variety of culinary operations including assisting in the opening of Ristorante Del Lago as a Jr. Sous Chef. While in Ristorante Del Lago, she was instrumental in assisting with the Grand Opening of Natural Epicurean and the continued success of Play within its inaugural year. Chef Tia then joined Summit as a Jr. Sous Chef and operated the outlet as the Interim Chef de Cuisine. In 2018, Chef Tia seized the opportunity to join the Banquets team by accepting the position of Sous Chef of Garde Manger. In 2020, Chef Tia became the Ristorante Del Lago Sous Chef and later excelled as the Ristorante Del Lago Interim Chef de Cuisine. Chef Tia was later promoted to Chef of Garde Manger Banquets in 2021, where she has been instrumental in the success of the Banquets Team. Chef Tia has been a prime example of dedication and hard work throughout her time with The Broadmoor. Subscribe, or die! Just kidding, but please subscribe?

Anthony calls into Wednesday's show to share his excitement about hosting Matt in his family's place, his love for U.S. curling, and where Matt ranks in the list of American heroes who have come through Giorgio's Ristorante (24:42-34:01). Chris Orr joins the second hour of Tuesday's show to help break down Packers finally transitioning from a 3-4 to 4-3 defense under Jeff Hafley.
