Hoy Pepe Rubio nos embarca en la historia de María Wonenburger, una matemática gallega que tuvo que vivir cómo su talento fue ignorado en España, pero redescubierto por las matemáticas María José Souto y Ana Dorotea Tarrío en el año 2002. Una historia que comienza con una familia de empresarios gallegos, los Wonenburger, conocidos por su influencia en la metalurgia. Su familia le dio todo el apoyo, matriculándola en el instituto Eusebio da Guarda, un centro histórico de A Coruña, donde comenzó su pasión por las matemáticas. Más tarde conseguiría la beca Fulbright que la llevó hasta Yale, y allí, con el prestigioso matemático Jacobson como director de su tesis, se convirtió en una de las grandes de su campo. Su trabajo fue tan innovador que acabó en la Universidad de Toronto, donde dirigió la tesis de otro genio de las matemáticas, Robert Moody. Una gallega que revolucionó el álgebra del siglo XX y que, los que la conocieron, coinciden en la persona tan maravillosa que era y la risa tan contagiosa que tenía. When he was in grade school, Robert and his family moved toProtection, Kansas, a little town full of friendly people.Robert's first job in the legal field was working as a runner. After graduating from Wichita State University'slegal assistant program, Robert began working as a legal assistant in a small and bustling general litigationfirm in Wichita, Kansas. Seven years later, Robert applied for a position in the clerk's office of the UnitedStates District Court for the District of Kansas. He thrived in this competitive environment, and was selectedfor the job from a large pool of candidates. After three years in the clerk's office, Robert accepted a positionas the courtroom deputy for the Honorable Monti Belot, United States District Court Judge.Robert's experiences in these positions stimulated his keen intellect and inspired him to attend law school.After observing lawyers and legal proceedings from these distinctly different angles, Robert realized that hecould handle the pressures and challenges of practicing law. More importantly, he realized he wanted tobecome a lawyer. Taking on more responsibility, and having a greater impact on the outcome of contestedmatters, appealed to Robert.
