'Hot Debrief' Episode 2 - Detective Sergeant Anthony Pymm - Western Australia Police Force.  Author of the Anth's Trauma Recovery social media pages, we talk to Anthony about life as a kid winning National Championships in BMX racing, life as a young Constable in WA travelling around various roles to a career specialising in criminal investigation roles in Western Australia.  Anthony talks about the tricky balance between work and home life, children and how damaging workplace bullying can be on top of the already huge pressures of Policing leading to Anthony's diagnosis of PTSD and Moral Injury. We have a long chat about what Policing the vast Western Australia has been like in his 20+ year career, and we spend quite some time reflecting on family, how they notice signs about you and how you are travelling and ensuring you keep them in mind when work demands are high.Anthony has recently found his place connecting with an old school mate and MMA champion Soa Palelei, or Soa The Hulk as he's known in a mental health improvement boxing program in WA, looking forward to potentially shaping up against a professional fighter later this year in a fund-raising event hosted by Soa to raise money for mental health programs.Detective Sergeant Anthony Pymm: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/anths_trauma_recovery_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083358939807----------------Please check out our website: www.heart2heartwalk.org which contains links to handy links. Out walking again. I ordered a good quality outdoor mic, so in an episode or two, the quality will be awesome. Soa Palelei, Tim Ferris and Glenn Chandler combined are being my guides here, and we’re working. Diet is working, exercise is happening well. The day it turned around described, and what the plan is. 126kg down to 114kg in 6 or 7 weeks.   Plus a massive RANT about people mocking us when we’re on the journey, and how sometimes they don’t even know it. And they don’t mean anything by it. It hurts, at least we on this podcast understand.   Catch up with the latest from Glenn and all the previous episodes: http://fattophenom.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Fat-to-Phenom-1824951401164816/ https://twitter.com/GlennTwiddle https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQL4rWMKLSvI4fsenMLATPQ

Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Soa Palelei has been asked not to attend a charity event at a children’s hospital in Perth, Australia. Although the sport of Mixed Martial Art is not banned in Western Australia, UFC is, because of the use of a cage in bouts. As such Palelei’s attendance was not seen as having a suitable influence on the children. We hear from the fighter and explore if cage fighting should be banned. From Wickets and Wides to Tackles and Tries Meet Rudie van Vuuren, the only man to play in a Cricket and Rugby World Cup. That was in 2003, when he turned out for Namibia in both tournaments. There were highs and lows. On the cricket field, he took the scalp of Sachin Tendulkar but got hit for 28 in one over by Darren Lehman. On the rugby pitch, he was sitting on the bench injured as Namibia were crushed 142-0 by Australia in a group game. What Links Cricket and Tennis to the Humble Egg? It is the last part of our series looking at the language of sport. Amongst other things we find out what links tennis and cricket to the humble egg, and why a birdie is called a birdie. Simon Horobin professor of English at Oxford University reveals all. Treve's Triple Triomphe Attempt Sunday sees the richest horse race in Europe, the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe. We hear about Treve the record attempting horse that is not only inspiring music to be written, but confirming a place in history for pioneering female trainer Criquette Head-Maarek. She tells us about overcoming barriers, beating cancer and loving the song dedicated to her horse. Neil Back’s Rugby Premonition Ahead of England’s crunch match with Australia we hear from former England World Cup winner Neil Back, who reveals how he knew from a very early age he was going to play for England (and drive a Porsche!) Indian Rugby Winning the Rugby World Cup is a not something India are likely to achieve in the foreseeable future, but it has strong links to the game. The Calcutta Cup for a start. So can the country one day take on the powerhouses of the game? Sporting Witness In 2005, the Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba, made a dramatic plea for an end to the Civil War in his home country of Ivory Coast. Led by Drogba, the Ivorian national team went on to play their matches on both sides of the front line, in an attempt to help unify the country. Midfielder Gilles Yapi-Yapo explains all.
