SPOILER FILLED EPISODE: On this week’s Way Off Our Topic (WOOT) episode, we try to review the most recent Star Wars movie, “The Rise of Skywalker”. We try to get a broad range of opinions from relatively hard core Star Wars fans to fans who have seen the movies and we also range from 11 years old to over 50. In general, we all liked the movie. We had issues with some parts, but in general, the internet backlash is much stronger than any of us felt it should be. With us this week, we had returning Guest Jeff with his son Josh (11), returning guest Craiggers with his son Noah (18), along with Vicki and Bill. Highlights and Discussion centers on the following points: 1) Our individual Star Wars history and fandom 2) An in-depth review of most of the major points of “The Rise of Skywalker” along with several discussions along the way, as well as our usual trivia bits 3) Jeff discusses Roger Bannister’s breaking of the 4-minute mile 4) New canon and force capabilities expansion 5) The very full nature of this movie plot and Craig’s very likely theory 6) Potential editing choices/options to simplify the movie and add more to sections and/or stakes to the movie 7) Is Hux really Biff 8) Force users: anyone vs by birthright/family lineage 9) Acting comparison between prequels and sequels 10) The Han Solo cameo and would it have happened is Carrie Fisher had not passed away 11) Luke’s change in tone vs Episode 8 12) Overall thoughts and rating of the movie 13) Impact of Carrie Fisher’s death on the movie and plot points 14) Star Wars: Disney vs Lucas films, Closer than you would think 15) Retcon of The Last Jedi/Episode 8 16) Favorite characters, both lead and supporting 17) Coolest Light Saber of the entire series 18) The Star Wars family tree discussion and significant Naboo commonality 19) The original sequel trilogy layout vs what we saw Our Final Ratings: Jeff: Wanted to shift focus and expand upon certain other areas 8.0 Josh: Too Complex, 8.0 Craig: Sith level avoidance, as would be expected, but 8.0 Noah: Avoided, rather similarly, Sith in training? 7.0 Vicki: Still shipping Ben and Rey to a 8.0 Bill: 8.5, not quite a 9 as was thought upon first viewing And finally a check in on The Mandalorian through episode 7 and a bit about The Witcher Did we cover everything? If not, let us know in the comments and we may have a part 2. Best regards, Bill, Vicki, and Alan Hosts of the Garage Heroes In Training podcast and team members in the GHiT Immature Endurance Racing Team

We chat about "Us" with a spoiler review. AGAIN this IS a SPOILER FILLED EPISODE!
I am the Astro-Creep, a demolition style, hell American freak yeah! ***This is a Spoiler Filled Episode*** 2007’s Halloween 1 Cast and Crew - 2:15 Specs - 7:46 Production Profile - 9:33 Plot Premise and Discussion - 11:11 Worst Scenes - 15:01 Best Scenes - 23:02 The Extra Ending 26:19 Rob Zombie’s Halloween II (‘09) Cast and Crew/Specs - 29:40 Production Profile - 32:13 Plot Premise + Discussion - Intro - 36:09 What SHOULD Have Been The Sequel - 37:04 AlsoMike’s What COULD Have Been The Sequel - 40:26 Worst Scenes - 42:39 Different Endings? - 48:49 Best Scenes - 51:33 (Pizza is a Metaphor - 56:07) (Tact In Death - 58:14) Important Information For Only You + Words of Wisdom - 1:05:16 The re-watch portion of MMO Does Halloween comes to a bloody end in this episode as we review the two most recent installments in the franchise via Rob Zombie. 2007’s Halloween is part remake, re-imagining, prequel, and oddly enough, sequel to the first John Carpenter film. Some of it does in fact work fairly well. Mr. Zombie demonstrates quite a visual talent for the aesthetic of the franchise, and yet, the storytelling and the gratuitous murder realism seems to turn audience members against him. This will become even more apparent in his sequel. But we do have many moments of praise for Zombie’s work (quite to our surprise really), and we can give his films credit where they are due. However, we cannot resist the need to rewrite some of the missteps of the sequel and dive headlong into some what-ifs on the plotline. So even if you dislike these films, there’s plenty of new MMO material to enjoy here. You may have to listen to us exercise some demons en route to these epiphanies, but it’s all there. Plus, Mike 1 freaks Also Mike the hell out for at least MOST of this episode, which if it’s not funny, at least it should entertain you all to listen to the fainter heart of our duo audibly squirm his way through this recording. Go back and listen to the rest of our re-watch of the Halloween series. We’ve now covered everything but the main movie event. Stay tuned as we plan to drop that episode for you all this weekend as it’ll make well over 20 films reviewed in our OSP / Movie Events of 2018. We’ve also reviewed other horror films like The Cloverfield Paradox, A Quiet Place, and Hereditary to quench your thirst for seasonal blood, and of course, we just banded together with 6 other podcasts in our entry to the month long pod Anthology series, All The Horror. We haven’t neglected the Oscar Race either. MMO covered the fall film festivals in a September Hollywood Hot Takes, released another Oscar Trailer round up with OT5, and we also gave the full review treatment to major contenders, A Star Is Born and First Man. Whatever your taste, do go back and search our massive catalog of movie talk episodes. Feel free to chat with us on social media. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter, and our website is FINALLY nearing a launch date during awards season. Also don’t forget our Six Degrees Of MMO challenge 4: Jamie Lee Curtis to Mike Myers as we plan to read those winners on the air in an upcoming episode.
BryGuy is with us only in pre-taped form, but we still make plenty of hay between him, myself, and our buddy the K-Bear on this SPOILER-FILLED EPISODE that is all about The Last Jedi. Seriously, there are so many spoilers. Do not listen to this if you haven’t seen the movie yet. Just don’t. Wait. Maybe see […]
