00:00 Introductions 01:29 United Health CEO 03:33 We Are 100 06:04 Hawk Tuah 17:40 KISS 27:56 Jason Zugai 32:48 Mitch McConnell 33:14 Hunter Biden —Anthony Eugenio joins the idiots. —It was all the rage last week, but we really don't spend a lot of time covering the death of Brian Thompson. We do find it incredibly amusing that Internet Slueths, who ALWAYS find the identity of mysterious (or, more often than not, racist) people (Karens) online, are taking a pass on hunting down the hero who put a CEO in his forever box. —How dumb is Nathan? Very dumb. He had to be reminded that he wrote a book about vigilantes who took out horrible people, and that book literally opens with someone blowing up a group of healthcare executives. Life imitating art… If only I could get a modicum of attention for being ahead of the curve. —Jake is in love with Hailey Welch. nathan is decidedly agnostic, with a slight lean to the negative. She had a great moment, and good on her for cashing in on it, but why does anyone want to listen to anything she says? And for the love of God, why would anyone by crypto from her? Apparently people lost thousands of dollars, and they couldn't have deserved it more. Gambling on crypto is dumb enough. Doing so because of an influencer? Beyond dumb. Also: Jake wants you to watch the documentary, “Sour Grapes.” —You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world, KISS… …is being sued by a former employee. Specifically, their wig handler. David Matthews has worked for KISS since 1992, and according to the lawsuit, put in 12 to 15 hour days. Question: doing what? He was their wig wrangler. That should be 15 minutes of a day, total. Put wig on rockstar, poof it up. Rockstar performs live, takes wig off, hands it to you. Done. Apparently Matthews was worried about COVID protocols not being followed to the letter. I'm sure he has a lot of close friends and well-wishers. People that whine incessantly usually do. —Is Jason Zugai the dumbest person on the planet? Well… maybe not dumbest, but he's pretty close. He's a the VP of the United Steelworkers union. Because he's dumb, he endorsed Trump. Now, Trump is opposed to a merger that would help the Steelworkers, and Zugai is upset. Oooh, you didn't see this coming? The guy who never paid his workers, not having the back of the working man? You have to marvel at the stupidity. —Sometimes, I wish I was a Christian. Because then I could believe in Hell. And then I'd feel comfort in knowing that Mitch McConnell will burn for all eternity because of his evil ways. Mitchy is upset, because two Democratic Federal Judges announced their retirement, then decided to stay on the bench after Trump won the election. Mitchy thinks they're hypocrites. Mitch McConnell. Mr. “We can't appoint a Supreme Court judge in an election year when Obama is president, but can absolutely appoint one as Trump is leaving office.” —Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter. nathan understands why, but thinks it was a dumb, awful move. Jake is more forgiving. Idiots on Parade: we mock the news, so you don't have to. Tune in and get your giggle on. Find Jake at @jakevevera Find nathan at nathantimmel.com

Welcome to The Georgia Politics Podcast! On today's show, Nikema Williams faces pressure to step down as party chair and Georgians join the Trump administration. First up, Nikema Williams has informed people around her that she backs a policy change that could pave the way for her to step down as chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, following pressure from activists, donors, and officials after Donald Trump's victory. According to allies familiar with her stance and texts obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she has indicated to supporters that she will support a change to the party's bylaws making the chair position a full-time role, potentially allowing her to save grace and leave the post within months if party officials approve the change. In the newly forming Trump administration at least two Georgians are taking on key roles: Former congressman Doug Collins has been tapped to the Veterans Affairs lead and former Senator Kelly Loeffler will co-Chair Trump's inaugural committee. Are there more Georgians to come? Also, the Republican's presidential transition team is reportedly planning to kill the $7,500 consumer EV tax credit program President Joe Biden signed into law in 2022. A spokesman for Gov. Brian Kemp applauded the move by saying the Biden administration's policies have resulted in the government picking “winners and losers.” However, Georgia's two largest economic development projects are both electric vehicle (EV) factories, and Georgia has also attracted a variety of auto suppliers, battery manufacturing facilities, and other corporate investments throughout the battery supply chain. Welcome to another episode of Hit Rewind, where Michael and Jacob dive into the cinematic landscape of 1998. The duo kicks off the discussion with "Hard Rain," an action-packed heist movie set during a massive flood, featuring Christian Slater, Morgan Freeman, and a series of spectacular practical effects. Filmed in a unique setting, the film's production anecdotes and ultimate box office flop provide a fascinating backdrop for this underappreciated gem. Next up, the hosts explore the stoner comedy "Half Baked," starring Dave Chappelle. They reminisce about the film's cult status, hilarious cameos, and its impact on the genre. The conversation highlights the comedic performances and the film's enduring appeal, despite its initial mixed reception. The discussion takes a romantic turn with "The Wedding Singer," a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Michael and Jacob discuss the film's charm, its standout soundtrack, and the undeniable chemistry between its leads that contributed to its success. The episode also covers the cult classic "The Big Lebowski" by the Coen Brothers. The hosts delve into the film's quirky characters, unique narrative style, and its rise to cult status despite an initial lukewarm reception. They appreciate the film's humor, memorable lines, and the iconic performances by Jeff Bridges and John Goodman. Finally, the episode wraps up with "Sour Grapes," a lesser-known comedy by Larry David. They discuss the film's satirical take on greed and misfortune, drawing parallels to "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Despite its obscurity, the hosts find value in its humor and dark comedy. Join Michael and Jacob as they rewind the clock to 1998, revisiting these films and sharing their insights and memories. Whether it's action, comedy, romance, or cult classics, this episode has something for every movie enthusiast.
Ben Roethlisberger said we need to pump the brakes on the Steelers offense. Is this an example of sour grapes from Big Ben? The offense wasn't perfect in the last two games, but played better defenses than we have let on. Do we need to wait and see a ‘real' defense? What's the story – easy schedule or is this offense for real?

What's the story – easy schedule or is this offense for real? What do you need to see from this Steelers offense to believe? One caller thinks Ben Roethlisberger is a hater and he's worried about Russell Wilson breaking some records. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Does Mike believe in this Steelers offense or is it too early to tell? He thinks the unit behind Russell Wilson is showing people better football than we expected. Mike hopes the Steelers take the bye week to search for a receiver to add at the deadline. Mike all but confirmed Cooper Kupp is off the market. Have we ever seen a bizarre play like the one we saw with George Pickens in the end zone the other night? What is Mike's move on Halloween since he lives in a mostly remote area?

Aesop's fables are among the most familiar and best-loved stories in the world. Tales like “The Tortoise and the Hare,” “The Dog in the Manger,” and “Sour Grapes” have captivated audiences for roughly 2,600 years. Written by a non-Greek slave (who may not have existed but was reported to be very ugly), Aesop was an outsider who knew how to skerwer Greek society and identify many of the contraditions of antiquity. HIs tales offer us a world fundamentally simpler to ours—one with clear good and plain evil—but nonetheless one that is marked by political nuance and literary complexity. Today's guest is Robin Waterfield, author of “Aesop's Fables: A New Translation.” Newly translated and annotated by renowned scholar Robin Waterfield, this definitive translation shines a new light on four hundred of Aesop's most enduring fables. In this episode, the resurgence of the traditional wife lifestyle on social media is examined. The recent outrage from women about this lifestyle and the receiving opposing reaction to that outrage is discussed. It is held that this reception boils down to the perception that these tradwives could be experiencing a case of adaptive preference that limits their boundless freedom (that which is the aim of a transcendent existence). Even if it might not be the case that these tradwives suffer from seeing other possibilities as “sour grapes,” the second issue of internalized toxic femininity is discussed. Generally, we should be conscious of the kind of content we choose to consume and how we shape our preferences and choose to act based on new information we learn from interactions with others. The bottom line here is that we should be aiming for a vision beyond capabilities: a world in which “throwing like a girl” is meaningless because there is no particular way girls throw.

You can still choose to believe God even if things haven't gone down right in the past. A lot of times things that we view as "out of reach" we deem as sour and undesirable not truly knowing what God has for us on the other side. It is more difficult to face the truth after the fact but if you keep loving the truth it will always set you free.

A Song of Sour Grapes Isaiah 5:1-7
In his weekly YouTube appearance, Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise joins host Adam Bittner to react to Kenny Pickett's camp attempting to shoot down negative narratives that surrounded his exit from the Steelers. Do comments by his high school coach and private QB coach to NJ.com amount to sour grapes about the way last season ended with Mason Rudolph taking the starting job? Or about the Steelers signing Russell Wilson? Or are any of the gripes from Pickett's people legit? Should any of the rumors about his strong offseason behind Jalen Hurts with the Philadelphia Eagles be believed? And will Pickett ever achieve redemption as a Steelers pariah like Le'Veon Bell has in recent years? Then on the Pirates front, our duo ponders GM Ben Cherington's options at the MLB trade deadline. Should every prospect be on the table as an option to move in exchange for a solid bat? Even names like Termarr Johnson and Bubba Chandler? And should the success Roansy Contreras has had with the Los Angeles Angels concern anyone yet? Our duo tackles those questions and also offers thoughts on Pitt's Bub Carrington being selected in the NBA draft and moves Penguins GM Kyle Dubas should consider ahead of NHL free agency on July 1.
