Matt and Jen discuss their Phenix Method, emphasizing the importance of a four-part framework: visualize, vocalize, vote, and vicinity. They share personal anecdotes and examples, such as Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile and their own experiences with real estate and fitness. The framework encourages focusing on what you pay attention to (visualize), the power of self-talk (vocalize), the cumulative effect of daily actions (vote), and the influence of your environment (vicinity). They stress that these elements shape your future and can lead to significant personal transformation.Listen In!Thank you for listening to this episode of Ignite Your Impact! As referenced in the show you can visit our website at phenixmethod.comJoin our Private Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/phenixmethodbodyandlifestyletransformations for lifestyle transformation hacks that the pros use.

Les Brown shares a powerful lesson on belief, persistence, and the two words that can change everything when you're about to quit. In this stirring talk, he explains why most people operate out of memory instead of imagination, what Roger Bannister and 20,000 runners after him revealed about invisible ceilings, and the difference between two laid-off men in Chicago that determined who got back on top. This episode will challenge you to stop trusting what you see and start trusting what's possible.Source: UnknownHosted by Sean CroxtonFollow me on InstagramSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why do so many people feel unfulfilled after reaching their biggest goals? In this episode, Dr. Charles  explores the psychology of achievement, purpose, and personal growth through the story of Roger Bannister and the first four-minute mile. Drawing on research in motivation, flow, and behavioral psychology, he explains why humans aren't wired for permanent comfort, why retirement may not be the finish line we've been promised, and why meaningful challenges are essential for a fulfilling life. The question isn't whether you've achieved enough. The question is: What's your next four-minute mile?

Christy unpacks the British idiom getting the sack, complete with a 1525 Zach spelling and the mental image of a Victorian raccoon hauling its belongings out the door. Ashe walks through a packed week in history covering Alan Shepard going to suborbital space (allegedly), Bobby Sands and the idea that everyone has a part to play, the Roger Bannister sub-four-minute mile, the Channel Tunnel, the Chinese Exclusion Act and its modern TPS parallels, the Lusitania, VE Day, Coca-Cola's first glass at Jacobs Pharmacy, Olympic boycotts as psyop fuel, Ben Franklin's Join or Die cartoon as the first political meme, the end of the Civil War, the Schuman Declaration as the birth of globalism, the transcontinental railroad golden spike, and Deep Blue defeating Kasparov as the original AI fear porn rerun we are still being sold today. APR. 22, 2026Raise the bar."Jonathan..David's brother, killed him."2Sa 21:21 NIVAfter David killed Goliath, four other men, including his nephew Jonathan, killed giants that rose up against the Israelites. "In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot— twenty-four in all. He was also descended from Rapha. When he taunted Israel, Jonathan son of Shimeah, David's brother, killed him" (2Sa 21:20-21 NIV). David had raised the bar. Witnessing the defeat of what others had previously deemed impossible gave them the strength to overcome their own giants. Until 1954, no one had ever run a mile in under four minutes, and most people assumed it was virtually impossible. But on May 6, 1954, at an Oxford University track meet, Roger Bannister completed the distance in 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds. He had slain the giant. Two months later, Australian John Landy broke Bannister's record, proving that the four-minute mile was as much a psychological as a physical barrier. In the first half of the twentieth century, many people attempted to climb Mount Everest and failed. It was the unconquerable giant in the world of mountain climbers. On May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and his Sherpa guide, Tenzing Norgay, were the first humans to reach the summit. Since then, over seven thousand climbers, ranging from age thirteen to eighty, have completed the expedition. David, Bannister, and Hillary all conquered giants of their day and inspired others to match and excel in their feats. You do yourself and others a disservice when you run from your giant. You need to stop being afraid to tackle hard tasks and remind yourself, "If God did it before, He can do it again, and if He did it for others, He can do it for me."Raise the bar Stop being afraid.Share This DevotionalSend us Fan MailSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!

This week, we explore the invisible boundaries that shape our work, our relationships, and our own sense of what's possible. We open with the story of the four-minute mile: for nine years, no one could break it—until Roger Bannister did, and the floodgates opened. What changed? Not the runners' bodies, but their sense of possibility. This episode is about those frames we rarely question—the ones that quietly dictate how high we reach and what doors we see as closed. We're joined by Tom Rath, bestselling author of What's the Point?, who shares practical ways to bring purpose and curiosity into daily routines. He challenges the myth that purpose is something lofty or rare, arguing instead for small, conscious actions that compound over time. We also talk with Dr. Claude Steele, social psychologist and author of Churn, who uncovers the hidden cognitive cost of navigating difference—and the power of trust and curiosity in building genuine connection. This episode is for leaders and ambitious people who want more than surface-level inspiration. We unpack the non-obvious, often-unspoken barriers to creative impact, and offer mindsets and tactics to do our best work in a world of uncertainty and change.Five Key LearningsPossibility follows perception: The true barrier is rarely our capability; it's the mental frames we accept as facts, often inherited from others or from outdated stories about what's realistic.Purpose is built, not found: Purpose isn't a grand concept reserved for a chosen few—it's a practical orientation, shaped by the daily question: “What's the point?” and, more specifically, “Who do I help?”Exposure gaps limit potential: Most of us only ever glimpse a fraction of what's really possible in our careers or lives. Deliberately widening that aperture—seeking out new experiences and perspectives—creates new options.Difference comes with cognitive overhead: Navigating diverse teams or situations requires extra energy—what Dr. Claude Steele calls “churn.” That bandwidth tax is real, but understanding it is the first step in reducing its effect.Trust is the antidote to churn: Building trust—through curiosity rather than defensiveness—turns anxiety into opportunity. Leaning into difference, rather than simply managing it, can unlock creative and relational breakthroughs.Get full interviews and bonus content for free! Breaking the Impossible: Dominate by Consistency

When Sebastian Sawe crossed the London Marathon finish line in 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 30 seconds, he didn't just break a record — he shattered every excuse the world had for saying something is impossible. In this episode, I break down what this historic moment means for you and whatever goal you've been told — or told yourself — can't be done. The biggest lesson isn't about running; it's about consistency, belief, and being bold enough to light the path for others. Key Takeaways Everything in life is deemed impossible until someone actually does it — your limits are not permanent ceilings. Roger Bannister ran the first four-minute mile in 1954, and within three years, 16 other people did it. Once someone proves it's possible, the floodgates open. The second-place finisher in London also broke the two-hour barrier — and it was his first marathon ever. Sometimes not knowing what's impossible is your greatest advantage. Sebastian got faster in the second half of the race, proving that true endurance comes from pacing yourself with intentional, relentless consistency. You don't have to be the strongest, smartest, or fastest person in the room — you just have to be the most consistent over the longest period of time. Action Steps Identify one area of your life where you've accepted "impossible" as the final answer and write down one small, consistent action you can take daily to challenge that belief. Stop overcomplicating your preparation. Sebastian ate two pieces of bread, tea, and honey. Audit where you're adding noise instead of focusing on simple, repeatable habits. Make a decision to be the one who lights the torch in your family, your team, or your community. Own the responsibility of being the first to show others what is possible. Notable Quote The most consistent person over the longest period of time ends up being the one that breaks barriers, breaks records, and lights a path for others.

Seeing others succeed can be a powerful source of inspiration. Once we know something is possible for others, then it also becomes possible for us. Take the sub-four-minute mile for example. At one point, it was thought impossible for a human to run a mile in less than four minutes and that pushing so hard would cause the runner's heart to explode. On May 6th, 1954 Roger Bannister was the first person to run a sub-four-minute mile. Less than six weeks later John Landy not only ran a sub-four-minute mile, he beat Bannister's time. Something went from being impossible, to being done, to having other people doing it. While it can be encouraging to see others enjoy success, sometimes that becomes a tool for us to beat ourselves up emotionally. We see that we are working as hard, if not harder, than others and yet we are not having success. This can lead us to question our effort, our ability, or whether success is even possible for us. Other people's success just highlights our own failure and we feel defeated rather than encouraged. This week in the podcast we tap for those times where we feel we have failed because we aren't having the same success as those we see around us. If you have ever felt like you are working as hard (if not harder) as the people around you and there must be something wrong with you because you are not getting the results you want, then this week's podcast was recorded just for you. You've already done impossible things. So why are you doubting your next mountain when you've outrun the odds more times than you can count? April challenges listeners to stop underestimating themselves by revisiting their own “4-minute miles.” Just as Roger Bannister shattered the barrier once thought impossible, you too have overcome odds that most people never thought you could. April dives deep into reframing past wins as fuel for future breakthroughs—and shows you how to apply this mindset shift to the mountain in front of you now. Key Takeaways: The Bannister Effect: Once Bannister broke the 4-minute mile, dozens followed. Your wins create the same ripple effect for yourself and others. The Odds You've Already Beaten: From trauma, business hurdles, and personal setbacks—you've already outrun impossible odds. Don't forget your own track record. Rewrite Your Narrative: Stop letting doubt speak louder than proof. Your past wins are undeniable evidence of what's possible next. Challenge of the Day: Write down your personal “4-minute miles” and use them as ammunition when doubt creeps in. Action > Doubt: Momentum builds when you start—success stacks like dominoes. Quotes & Action Items: “You don't need to borrow belief from anyone else—you've got proof written all over your own life.” – April Garcia Action Step: Make your list of every 4-minute mile you've already broken (big or small). Keep it visible and use it as fuel for your next challenge. April reminds us that breaking barriers isn't about waiting until you feel ready—it's about trusting the evidence of your past victories. If Bannister could run what the world said was impossible, and if you've already outrun impossible odds, then your next 4-minute mile is not only possible—it's waiting for you. ______________________________________

In this Episode: In an episode of the Achieve Results NOW! podcast, hosts Mark Cardone and Theron Feidt share three steps to help listeners overcome self-doubt and accomplish their goals. They focus on conquering the small, day-to-day "can'ts" that often hold people back and derail their progress. Step 1: Reframe Your Thoughts and Language The hosts emphasize the importance of changing your internal monologue. Instead of focusing on why you "can't" do something, they encourage you to ask what evidence you have that you can't. They suggest replacing "I can't" with "I haven't yet," which shifts the mindset from impossibility to a future goal. This change in language, though it may sound simple, is crucial for turning a problem into a challenge. Step 2: Break Down Your Challenge The hosts advise breaking down large, overwhelming goals into smaller, more manageable steps. They use the example of a podcast. Starting a podcast may sound complicated, but the first step is simply to record for 15 minutes. This approach helps build momentum and makes a daunting task feel achievable. The idea is to take one small action today, which will eventually lead to bigger results. Step 3: Seek Inspiration The final step is to find inspiration from others who have overcome similar challenges. The hosts mention the story of Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile as an example of a mental barrier being shattered. They recommend reading biographies and autobiographies, listening to podcasts, and finding people who have already achieved what you want to do. Additionally, they suggest you don't skip the foundational steps when learning something new, even if they seem basic. Mastering these fundamentals is essential for long-term success.   ARN Suggested Reading: Blessings In the Bullshit: A Guided Journal for Finding the BEST In Every Day – by Mark Cardone & Theron Feidt https://www.amazon.com/Blessings-Bullshit-Guided-Journal-Finding/dp/B09FP35ZXX/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=blessings+in+the+bullshit&qid=1632233840&sr=8-1 Full List of Recommended Books: https://www.achieveresultsnow.com/readers-are-leaders Questions: 1.   Do you have a question you want answered in a future podcast? 2.   Go to www.AchieveResultsNow.com to submit. SEASON 3 EPISODE 123: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: Don't be silly, Stephen Miller - you're taking the fall. For contempt of court in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia and Rogue Deportation Flight cases. The target to at least be fined, maybe jailed, for contempt of court has got to be Stephen Miller. The picture is clarifying slowly, the focus is sharpening painstakingly, but it seems evident now that contempt cases being built by District Judges Jeb Boasberg and Paula Xinis – the effort to get depositions about, and charge somebody with, contempt of court in the abduction of Mr. Abrego Garcia AND the renditioning of dozens of others to El Salvador after Boasberg ordered the plane to NOT take off – the slow, methodical attempt to finally, at long last, about damn time, hold SOMEBODY in the Trump Crime Administration responsible for SOMETHING… this whole move to put somebody behind bars, is, in both courts, targeting… Stephen Miller. Based on reporting by NBC, by the Akron Law Journal, by Brian Beutler in "Off Message" and otters: the finding by Judge Boasberg of probable cause for contempt citations against the Trump Gang, and these depositions scheduled by Judge XINIS are apparently designed to confirm what Miller and the other Trumpian monsters are boasting about in private – Miller is the architect of the deportation scheme and especially its baseline component of cruelty. The man who has allegedly hated Hispanics since a girl he asked out in high school turned him down, is also the architect of the scheme to disobey the District Court orders to bring Abrego Garcia home AND to disobey the Supreme Court in the process. The man who greets every warning from a court or an attorney or a human with a conscience to stop now before it is too late for him, by getting louder, and angrier, and more monstrous, the man behind whatever step towards Ethnic Cleansing is next, is Stephen Miller. And it sure looks like Judges Boasberg and Xinis want to put the man Beutler refers to as the "monstrous twerp-fascist" behind bars. AND TRUMP GETS CRAZIER: Literally wants 11-year olds to give up their dolls and pencils for the sake of his delusion, and doesn't know if he has to uphold the constitution and has just infuriated all the Veterans by re-naming Veterans Day "Victory In World War 1 Day" and creating a "Victory In World War 2 Day" on the anniversary of a day when... World War 2 wasn't won. B-Block (34:30) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Trump clowns Labor Secretary Lori DeRemer-Chavez and Secretary of Lies Karoline Leavitt tie with some whoppers. Jesse Watters goes into a cave with Elon Musk. And a pretend reporter named Myles gets told to Eff Off by Ilhan Omar. (41:17) SPORTSBALLCENTER: Tomorrow is the 71st anniversary of the day in 1954 when Roger Bannister became the first to ever run a mile in less than four minutes. Except that he WASN'T the first to ever run a mile in less than four minutes. He wasn't even the first in England, where it had been done 200 years earlier. Never mind, say, in Kenya. (59:30) SPORTSBALL CENTER, CONTINUED: The reason all Bannister's predecessors are unknown is: they were erased from the records by the self-appointed "Amateur Authorities" of the 19th Century who wanted to make sure only "Gentlemen" held the honors.

Humans are very adaptive, and when they see somebody else doing something, then they tend to think, 'I can do this too.' And as Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, all our states of consciousness have come because of our previous sangas. There was a curious case about how people used to think that they couldn't run a mile in under four minutes, and it persisted for centuries. There were theories that you could not do it, otherwise your heart would explode, and so forth. Then there was this doctor named Roger Bannister, who was also a runner, and he practiced and practiced. Eventually, he beat the four-minute mile. After that, it became commonplace; everybody did it, and it just became the standard. Now in college, if you don't run under a four-minute mile, you're not really on the team. So, you know, when we see a higher standard in other people, we tend to think, 'Oh, maybe it's possible I can do it also.' And we don't come to that awareness until we come into the association of those who have a higher standard. I remember being at some temple, I was taking devotees on sankirtana. There was this one devotee who, every time he got in the van, he'd immediately start reading. He'd be chanting all the time, not in an annoying way, but it was just noticeable that he was enthusiastic about not wasting any time. Everybody on the party noticed it and felt that, 'Oh, I should be doing that too.' So we tend to pick up from others. Or monkey see, monkey do.
