Case and Sam are looking back at the earliest episodes of the show! Check out their thoughts on the eighteenth episode when Case sat down with Drew Lewandowski and chatted about Captain America: The First Avenger! Overview In the latest episode of the 'Another Pass at Another Pass' podcast, hosts Case Aiken and Sam Alicea review 'Captain America: The First Avenger,' reflecting on its role as a unifying film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). They discuss the film's strong character setup in the first half but critique a rushed third act and missed opportunities for deeper character development, particularly concerning the Howling Commandos and the relationship between Howard Stark and Steve Rogers. Praise is given to the casting, especially Chris Evans as Captain America and Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, while discussing suggestions for improving narrative flow. The hosts express a continuing appreciation for the film after rewatching it, noting its effective handling of themes and villains, and they highlight its significance within the broader MCU narrative. Additionally, they touch on the impact of real-world events on superhero films and announce upcoming podcast episodes, wrapping up with promotional messages for other network shows. How does one become an on-film character that not only represents a nation but is the leader of what will be a decade+ of Marvel Cinematic Universal entries that will last a lifetime? The worry, beyond casting Captain America, was how on Earth could we take a strapping (and hopefully talented) actor, toss him into a red, white and blue skin-tight suit, strap a shield to his forearm and not get laughed out of theaters across the planet? The answer? FUNCTION. While many of the things you see are cleary from the realm of comic book realms, Marvel found a talented, strapping actor, they got the suit, shield and patriotism to work, and it really does propel the very FIRST offering for Captain America in the MCU. „Captain America: Brave New World“ startet am 13. Februar in den deutschen Kinos – der Podcast beginnt hingegen, sobald ihr auf Play drückt. Viel Spaß mit der neuen Folge vom Tele-Stammtisch! We're back with the first Caravan Of Garbage for 2025, Captain America: The First Avenger. In the lead up to Brave New World we take a look back at the first in the trilogy and the introduction of Chris Evan's portrayal of Steve Rogers. Acting as a prequel in the MCU timeline it takes us back to his battles with the Red Skull and Hydra during the events of World War II. Directed by The Rocketeer's Joe Johnston and also starring Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine it managed to lay the groundwork for future installments on top of being an absolultely cracking adventure movie in its own right. On this episode of The Movie Podcast, Shahbaz is joined by Hugo Weaving to discuss his role as Frank Harkness in Season 4 of SLOW HORSES . The series is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Season 4 opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House's already unstable foundations. Season 1-4 of Slow Horses is now streaming on Apple TV+. This week Alex & Dan delve back into the vaults to bring you an episode from the TWRAD days - and it's the big one! From 23 films over 10 years, the south coast dynamic duo have a tough task this week, as they have to choose their favourite moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and thanks to the power of social media, the listener's lend a hand and share some of theirs, too! From where it all began with Iron Man back in 2008 with RDJ uttering those most famous words, Samuel L Jackson walking out of the shadows in the post credit scenes - to a miniature battle from 2015's Ant-Man, dance off's in Guardians of the Galaxy and the reveal of Peter Parker's identity in Spider-Man Homecoming - the boys do their best to cover some of the most iconic scenes from the first three phases! The duo digress during this session, pitching their epic movie ideas with the pizza-fed New York rodent versus the mutant south coast Seagull (are you in?). Dan also discusses bootleg Dr Dre CD's in Time Square and some of the tourist trappings which he experienced during his time in the city.... but what does that have to do with the First Avenger? #GITS

Let's revisit this podcast from 2015. Matt and Jeff talk about the wonder that is Captain America: First Avenger. It's a pretty fun one to look back at cuz oh my. the speculation is so all over the place. So much spaghetti on so many walls. But Jeff says, "Spaghettified" so that was pretty cool.
