Hello all and welcome to quite a special episode, not just special because I'm doing the introductions, not just special because it's an extra episode but it is infact special because it's not just Me, Joe and Dean here because we also have a special guest. He is a man with a moustache that I could only dream of, a man who has appeared in movies such as “Cruella” and “Venom: Let there be carnage” but most importantly he is a man who has featured in Michael Keaton's 2nd directorial outing “Knox Goes Away” out the 15th of March. Ladies and gentlemen Skip Howland.
The Merry Marvel "March" Society concludes this week as we suit up with the symbiotes to tackle the mid 90s crossover epic, Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage by JM DeMatteis, Mark Bagley, Tom DeFalco & more! Plus a preview of our upcoming Movie "May"hem where we pair comics with movie adaptations. Up first, Venom: Let There Be Carnage starring Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson. Host: Andy Larson Co Hosts: Chad Smith & JA Scott

Together these three form a sembiotic entity and ponder:Why is Venom so corny? Can two teen psychos stay in love for decades? And - is there a secret connection between Venom and the HBO series Veep? All that plus an examination of Venom's queer narrative and the souls greedy SOBs at Sony - Sorry, Venom wrote that. So get your shriek on, draw a doodle about your past murders, and tip your convenience store clerks - because Venom has a hold on Podcast 616 and baby she ain't letting go!Listen. Subscribe. I recorded this 3 times for some pretty embarassing school-boy errors, and it sounds like I recorded it in a small box. But it's here and let's all be thankful.First up we have the return of Jack Ask. I solve the Christmas dilemma of whether or not any of the Harry Potter films can be classed as Christmas films.Next up it's our Christmas Not So Classic. The first ever winner of the UK Pop Idol, Will Young, released a Christmas single in 2019 and though it's a lovely song it did not become a classic. Check it out, it's a nice song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiJn9UT82EEThen Bob Baker our podcast barman talks about cookies or should that be biscuits?Next up is What the Dickens, and this episode we talk about Mr Charlie D's side hustle as a magician. I kid you not,Then it's another version of the Christmas Yule Log. This one is a tie-in to the film Venom: Let there be Carnage. The film was absolute trolley and sadly the yule log ain't much better, but if you want to have a look, here's a link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO5j6S2UPMs&t=8403sThen Bob is back with a great way to keep feeling festive all year round. This time it's Christmas music to help you with your training at the gym. Then it's the quiz. I scored 10 out of 10 because I'm incredibly clever. What will your score be?This episode's recommendation is The Past and the Curious Podcast. It's a great history podcast. They say it's for kids, but I love it. Kieran and Matty D just watched "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" and review their original predictions to see who was closer to the mark. WARNING: This podcast WILL contain actual spoilers for the movie discussed!
Much like the first film, Venom 2 made plenty of money at the box office and has a devoted fanbase singing its praises. However it still failed to win over critics. Today we're taking a second look at this slimy sequel to discover everything that works! You know how they say "Be careful what you wish for"? Well, installment 74 of our Merry Marvel Movie March is a review of the movie "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", which doubles down on the buddy comedy vibes from the first film. And now we wish it were a full on rom-com! Are we being fickle, or has the franchise just not found its footing? We're holding out hope for "Venom 3", but box office numbers suggest the smart money is in staying the course.
In this episode of Frank Opinions, we talk about The Menu which is currently streaming on HBOMax and then we travel back to 2021 and talk about Venom: Let there be Carnage which is currently streaming on STARZ. Andy Serkis directed an expansion of mythology, relationships, and pow sets in the sequel to the 2018 smash-hit Venom. However, the "critics" had a lot of issues with this movie despite the problems it solved from the source material.

Hasbro broke new ground with the Sentinel Haslab project. It set records for the biggest Haslab response (until beaten by the Hasbro Galactus a year later). It became the largest Marvel Legends figure of all time. It could be Master Mold, Tri-Sentinel, Battle Damaged, or regular. It was an ambitious project, preceded by awe-inspiring online tease photos. Was it too ambitious? On this Marvelicious Toys, join Arnie, Justin, and Marjorie for a hands-on review of the Sentinel, as well as the included Sentinel Prime/Bastion and Female Sentinel Prime 6-inch figures. Venom Let There be Carnage blew the biggest end credit scene of all time.
The Carnage that was teased at the end of Venom has arrived, albeit with much straighter, non-Ronald McDonald looking hair on Woody Harrelson's head. Cowards. But that's the ONLY part of Venom: Let There Be Carnage that's less goofy than the first one. Warning: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2021 Sony/Marvel film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" or do not mind hearing key plot points. This is the 2nd installment of the Venom film series, and this episode reviews the film. In it, Woody Harrelson plays Cletus Kassidy/Carnage and Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock/Venom. Acclaimed content creator Brian Tong returns to the podcast (his first review was Episode 250 Shang-Chi) to talk about this film. While there is praise for the performances, the plot and writing come under scrutiny. The issues in the film also are compared to the original comic book storyline and the absence of Spider-Man as Venom/Carnage's main protagonist. Still, there is a discussion of that post-credit scene and its impact on future Spider-films and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On Episode 6 of X-Ray Vision, Jason Concepcion and Rosie Knight go raving with a Symbiote! In Previously On… they discuss the absolute madness that is Sony's Venom: Let There be Carnage as well as the MCU reverberations of the film's stinger (1:12). Then, in The Airlock, they dive deep (deeeep) into the finale of the Disney+ show What If…? and the ongoing multiversal trials and tribulations of the MCU (34:21). Next, Jason cracks open the Omnibus to explore the origins and popularity of the symbiote suit that ultimately becomes Eddie Brock's Venom (1:00:25). In The Hive Mind, Jason chats with What If…? head writer A.C. Bradley and series director Bryan Andrews about Zombie Wanda, writing and directing animation, the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman, and drinking whisky while writing Darcy Lewis and Party Thor (1:19:33). In The Endgame, Jason and Rosie play Face Off, pondering the question of which characters (if any!) from across all franchises, properties, and universes could possibly defeat Infinite Ultron (1:39:28).
