We chat with filmmaker Stewart Marshall about his documentary 'Fightback' which uncovers the real story about the 1989 potential merger with Footscray and Fitzroy in the AFL. Stewart chats about his journey to make the film and the roadblocks he's received along the way, including the AFL's resistance to back the project.
New Jersey State Trooper Jon Mazer has been charged with killing Black investigative reporter Stewart Marshall in a racially charged, headline-making murder. The evidence against criminal defense attorney Erin McCabe's new client is overwhelming. The gun used is Mazer's off-duty weapon. Fingerprints and carpet fibers link Mazer to the crime. And Mazer was patrolling Marshall's neighborhood shortly before the victim took three bullets to the chest. Mazer's argument? He's a gay officer being set up to take the fall in an even bigger story. Mazer swears he was a secret source for Marshall's exposé about the Lords of Discipline. The covert gang operating within the New Jersey State Police is notorious for enforcing their own code of harassing women, framing minorities, and out-powering any troopers who don't play their rogue and racist games. With everyone from the governor to the county prosecutor on the wrong side of justice, Erin and her partner, Duane Swisher, are prepared to do anything to make sure Mazer doesn't become another victim. As Erin deals with an intensely personal issue at home, and faces an uphill battle to prove her client's innocence, both she and Duane find themselves mired in a conspiracy of corruption deeper than they imagined—and far more dangerous than they feared.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. Welcome to the Evolvepreneur (After Hours) Show Join me today where we dig deep with our guests and get you the best concepts and strategies to fast-track your business. My very special guest today is Stewart Marshall ... I'm Stewart Marshall, senior executive, commercial software strategist, speaker, translator of IT gibberish, and the bestselling author of “Doing IT for Money – A business leader's guide to improving profit per person“. Technology and innovation have been my lifelong passions. I've spent over 30 years in IT, including executive leadership in enterprise at ASX 50 listed WiseTech Global, consulting to industry and government, and more than 20 of those at the cutting edge of software R&D and digital transformation leading multi-million dollar projects, creating, designing and building low code tools and solutions used by governments and thousands of businesses worldwide, including Proctor and Gamble, Kawasaki, Honda, and Kellogg's. Through my writing, coaching, consultancy and speaking, I've helped thousands of software and business leaders cut through the confusion, chaos and complications of the staggeringly immense technology world and put them on a path to an exceptional digital future. And as I tell everyone, if you're looking at the technology, you're missing the point.
On this episode of the DevReady Podcast, Andrew and Anthony talk to Stewart Marshall, commercial software strategist and SaaS extraordinaire. Stewart covers everything from using software to solve problems and implementation. He says that most people just want their problems solved, but devs need to think about it in the context of the system as a whole. As a SaaS expert, Stewart also joins the podcast to talk about some of the hurdles that software services overcome in the developmental stages as well as in going to market. This is Stewart's guide to developing a business plan for any startup itching to deliver a tech solution: 1. Articulate the problem. 2. Understand whose problem it is. Get it to a point where you can walk up to a person and say “here's the problem we have and here's how we're going to solve it.” Then you have a business. But remember that technology on its own is not a solution but merely a tool. A key takeaway from this episode is Stewart's advice to founders about incorporating technology. He says it's like looking at a jigsaw puzzle. The commercial side of the business will look at the picture, but the technical side will look at the pieces and how they fit together. When they work together, you get a really good outcome. Topics Covered: ● How COVID has forced digitization on Australia? ● SaaS experts today and what they have to offer. ● Smart marketing to your target audience. ● Software is only a tool. ● Mistrust in the technology sphere because of pricing structure. ● The AI arms race of the future. ● The distinction between customer needs and the customer wants. ● Why UX & UI are inherently complicated? ● Need to be inquisitive?
