Inspired by the return of sketch show comedy to British television in the form of the surprisingly satirical Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping, Jo and Adam go on a whistle-stop tour of British sketch show comedy and even have an argument (live on air!) about whether there is something intrinsically satirical about the sketch show format. They also check in on the alarming satire-related events taking place across the Atlantic, with some blaming South Park for the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, and others observing that some of the bullet casings used in his assassination were etched with messages from the hugely popular satirical video game Helldivers 2. Adam also reflects on his recent visit to the Storm Museum of Humour and Satire in Copenhagen and Jo shares a charming breakfast update about a Toast Man.

Zoe Whittall is a Canadian poet, novelist, and TV writer. She has film and TV credits on the Baroness von Sketch Show, Schitt's Creek, and others. She's also a poet, authoring three poetry collections to date. Her latest, Wild Failure, is a collection of 10 stories that capture the queer experience, exploring power dynamics, gender roles, shame, desire, insecurity, aging, and other universal themes that make us all human. She was the recipient of a 2020 Canadian Screen Award for her writing on CBC's Baroness von Sketch Show on which she also made regular appearances as an actor. She is the author of six plays, and the creator of many performances including TRACE with Tristan Whiston. Moynan was the co-founder and director of the Hysteria Festival, the co-director of the Rhubarb! Festival (for four years), and has been the curator of multiple cabaret events including Cheap Queers. As an Assistant Artistic Director and Associate Artist at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre for a total nine years, they developed such works as The Beauty Salon and Bathory among many others. Moynan holds a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from York University. Her critical writing on theatre and performance is widely published and they are the editor of Queer Performance: Women and Trans Artists (CTR 149), Queer/Play: An Anthology of Queer Women's Performance and Plays, and co-editor of Sound & Performance (CTR 184) with Megan Johnson. As of September 2022, Moynan will be post-doctoral fellow at the University of Western Ontario working with Dr. Spy Dénommé-Welch on a sound-based research project entitled Queer Resonance.Erica IsomuraBorn and raised on the west coast, Erica H Isomura is a poet, essayist, and multi-disciplinary artist, exploring graphic forms and mixed-media art. Monica was born in Toronto and moved to London in 2010 to study Early Modern Literature. Monica began her writing career in media, contributing to the Guardian, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Playboy. Since then she has worked on television projects including Netflix's Schitt's Creek, Workin' Moms and BBC's The Cleaner, and Everything I Know About Love. Monica's writing offers a unique blend of humor and social commentary and her debut novel, Really Good, Actually, was published around the world in January 2023, and is currently in development for television. She is working on a second novel.
