From a polish standpoint, I think it does for sure. But personally? Ehhhh....Prime 2 is objectively a well made game. The polish is there, great story, graphics, soundtrack, exploration. It splits the game's map into 2 distinct worlds, and on paper that's a great idea (as Link To The Past proves). But in execution it seems to be little more divisive. And while some people love this game, I found the maps and dark world equal parts brilliant and frustrating as fuck.My guest this week is our resident Metroid junkie, Stpd Mnky. He's the biggest Samus fan I know, and we went for an hour talking the lights and darks of Samus vs Samus, and discussed whether or not we think this game surpasses its predecessor. And before we morph into balls, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week someone asks for advice on being a creator when you run into setbacks? Do I ever just game for FUN anymore? And why don't I like Majora's Mask??Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! Here is Chapter 71 of Majora's Mask by FakeJake93- Anju & Kafei Part 1. Thanks for the music suggestions on the last episode. I tend to be cautious about how much music I use, as some artists prefer not to have their content shared, and I must be mindful of that.Cast Credits Author______ FakeJake93 https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6429588/70/Majora-s-MaskCaroCabaConiVO _______ Link Thank you to the following Patrons for supporting this channel and podcast. Press XJoin the Press X Discord: https://discord.gg/MAXtvmv2rwTopics:Making Metroid Prime 4 was originally a request from Nintendo of America; when Retro Studios took over its development, they no longer had the structure to make a MP game and had to rebuild https://nintendoeverything.com/metroid-prime-4-developer-interview-origins-challenges/Its open-world hub was a concession to old pleas from fans for an open-world Metroid that it became too late to change course on later as people's attitudes towards open-world games changed https://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-discusses-its-approach-to-metroid-prime-4-and-why-it-isnt-open-world/Pikmin 3 Deluxe rated for Switch 2 in Europe https://www.gematsu.com/2025/12/pikmin-3-deluxe-rated-for-switch-2-in-europeJez Corden: First Call of Duty Switch version "is nearly done and launching in a few months" https://x.com/JezCorden/status/2003171421879460027NateTheHate: The Switch 2 “devkit delivery situation has largely been resolved” (in other words, it looks like devs getting a Switch 2 devkit isn't a problem anymore) https://mynintendonews.com/2025/12/29/natethehate-nintendo-switch-2-dev-kit-availability-has-largely-been-resolved/ Questions from Discord: Joe: What are your biggest disappointments of the year? For me it honestly might be the Switch 2. I just think outside of Donkey Kong the first-party titles aren't the best so far. Plus, the high price of the system, charging $80 for a Mario Kart with less content than the previous title, key cards, etc. Also, Microsoft, fuck ‘em.Campfire_knight: Here's a fun question: What is your annual game(s) that you replay? For me, I probably replay Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Dark Souls 3 the most of any of the games I own. They are just so near and dear to my heart.

This week you can draw your moon to us as we discover Foxing's fourth, pentultimate and most Majora's Mask-coded album: Draw Down the Moon. This week we welcome Nintendo legend Takaya Imamura, the visionary artist behind F-Zero, Star Fox, and Majora's Mask. We hear some incredible stories from his three decades at Nintendo: from being interviewed by Shigeru Miyamoto, to creating Captain Falcon on a whim, to the wild one-year crunch that gave birth to Majora's Mask. He reveals how a shrine in Kyoto inspired Fox McCloud, why Tingle was born out of pure exhaustion, and the surprising comic book roots of his latest project Omega Six. Bob Mackey of the Retronauts joins Kaye this week to talk about Majora's Mask, whose pitch is that you only have three days to save the world, but you have as many three days as you want. This is the bleaker and more ambitious sibling to the beloved Ocarina of Time, and it's a standout title in its own right even if it's (wrongly, in our opinion) divisive. The inhabitants of Termina walk daily under a reminder of their pending doom, and Link and his many transformation masks are their only hope against Skull Kid and his mysterious cursed mask. Note: The first version of this episode cut off early. Redownload it to hear the last five minutes or so!

Welcome back to Nintendo Therapy, the show where we dive into the latest Nintendo news, rumors, and retro deep cuts. This week, Kevin and Harrison go full Japan-exclusive with an episode packed with speculation and nostalgia:
Remember the legend of Polybius, the 1980s arcade game that supposedly drove players mad? Or the chilling internet story of the haunted Majora's Mask cartridge? Our ghost stories have gone digital. Our latest feature, "The Ghost in the Machine," is a deep dive into the fascinating subgenre of haunted technology. We explore why we tell these stories and what they say about our collective anxiety surrounding the complex, powerful tools we build. It's a journey into our modern fears, from the paranoia of being watched to the promethean terror of our creations becoming sentient. Ready to understand why that tech glitch feels so unsettling?
