Oggi sarebbe il compleanno di Papa Francesco, Selen e Carlo Taormina. E' superfluo specificare a chi avremmo volentieri fatto gli auguri. E no, non è di sesso maschile. Questa puntata la dedichiamo a Kim Ki duk, che abbiamo amato e ameremo per sempre, e al quale saremo sempre grati: i suoi film punk ci hanno fatto scoprire l'universo del cinema coreano. Parliamo del suo Amen, ma anche dei nazisti zombi a cavallo di squali volanti che potete ammirare in Sky Sharks. Torniamo nel 1978 con La Mazzetta, decolliamo con la serie tv The Flight Attendant, e continuiamo ad innamorarci sempre più di un'altra serie: 30 Monedas del nostro Alex de la Iglesia. L'antologia Small Axe è sempre presente, il terzo film è Red White and Blue. Vi presentiamo Oltre Lo Specchio, un festival particolarmente dikotomiko. Anzi, a presentarcelo è Stefano Locati, il suo direttore artistico. C'è anche spazio per l'ottimo Run, mentre Saba, dall'interno della nostra Scatola preferita (Blu) ci introduce ad un altro festival: il Sottodiciotto. Buon ascolto!

Eva Habermann im BB RADIO Mitternachtstalk Eva hat schon als kleines Kind vor der Kamera gestanden. Damals noch begleitet von ihrer großen Schwester. Während ihrer Abiturzeit nahm sie Schauspiel-, Gesangs- und Tanzunterricht. Ihr Fernsehdebüt folgte mit 17 Jahren in der ZDF-Serie „Immenhof“. Viele kennen Eva aber durch ihre erste internationale Rolle in der Science-Fiction-Serie „Lexx – The Dark Zone“. 2003 wurde Eva in der FHM unter die 100 schönsten Frauen auf Platz 17 gewählt. Es folgten in Deutschland zahlreiche TV-Serien wie „Alarm für Cobra 11“, verschieden SOKO Formate und diverse nationale - und internationale Kinoproduktionen, unter anderem „Mara und der Feuerbringer“, „Diabla“ oder "Sky Sharks". Auch ihre Begeisterung für das Filmemachen wuchs. Deshalb gründete sie ihre eigene Produktionsfirma „fantomfilm“ und produziert seitdem viele Filme selbst. Eva Habermann ist ein echtes Allroundtalent. Neben Fernseh- und Kinofilmen sieht man sie auch regelmäßig auf der Theaterbühne.

"You have to love its simplicity. It's one billionth our size and it's beating us." After making Das Boot, Wolfgang Peterson came to Hollywood and began a new period in his life making big spectacle films, often action thrillers. Unfortunately, that meant when it came time to make his 1995 film Outbreak – stemmed from the world's curiosity in the Ebola outbreak in Africa paired with the release of Richard Preston's article “Crisis in the Hot Zone” and subsequent book – the powers that be felt that it too needed to be an action thriller. True, compared to something like The Andromeda Strain, a little more action could really help a story out, but they really seemed to go the wrong direction with this film, adding in an infuriating military conspiracy subplot to really kick things up a notch. Join us – Pete Wright and Andy Nelson – as we continue our Disease Films series with Peterson's ‘95 film Outbreak.  We talk about why the film fell short on this recent watch, even though it seemed to hold up relatively well when we first saw it in ‘95. We chat about how the project came to be and why the film version of Preston's article and book never got made. We look at all the wonderful actors in this movie and debate whose characters are the weakest. We chat about the nature of Ebola and the various outbreaks the world has seen with it (including a recent record-breaking outbreak starting in ‘13). And we ponder Peterson's Hollywood directing, wondering if he's still got another Das Boot in him.  It's a flawed film, albeit an entertaining one with a great cast. It's fun to watch but also infuriating. And it's really fun to talk about, so check it out then tune in this week!
