Folgende Songs haben wir heute auf die Playlist gesetzt:Kraze - The PartyVNV Nation - InvictusFür Euch stehen folgende Songs zur Auswahl:Out Of The Ordinary - The DreamPeter Schilling - Terra TitanicPaddy goes to Holyhead - Far AwayDie "Mother of all Playlists" findet ihr bei Spotify und AmazonMusic.Erreichen könnt ihr uns untertalesofus.de oder über Facebook und Instagram

Folge 44 von Tales of Us führt uns mal wieder ins Reich der Musik. This month we're back in our current millenium with our favourite songs of 2005 including generous helpings of indie-rock, chamberpop, industrial, synthpop, prog-metal & hiphop. We've each chosen our 10 favourite songs of the year and sent them over to Colin's wife Helen, who put the playlists together and distributed them so we were each given a playlist of the 20 songs from the other two hosts, along with our own 10. We then ranked the playlists in order of preference and sent them back to Helen, who totalled up the points and worked out the order. She also joined us on the episode to read out the countdown, which we found out as we recorded so all reactions are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three separate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of that year. Bands featured in this episode include (In alphabetical order, no spoilers here!) -And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Brendan Benson, The Bravery, Bright Eyes, Broken Social Scene, Clutch, Death Cab For Cutie, Editors, The Fall, Ben Folds, Gogol Bordello, Gojira, Imogen Heap, Malcolm Middleton, Nine Black Alps, Nine Inch Nails, Jim Noir, Opeth, Pernice Brothers, Porcupine Tree, Robyn, Shady Bard, The Spinto Band, Sufjan Stevens, Strapping Young Lad, Matt Sweeney & Bonny Prince Billy, Teenage Fanclub, VNV Nation, The Wedding Present, & Kanye West Ft Jay-Z. Find all songs in alphabetical order here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4X2NdJpqAODDHvaQgCRhJ5?si=dd0541fefa4d4f31Find our We Dig Music Pollwinners Party playlist (featuring all of the winning songs up until now) here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/45zfDHo8zm6VqrvoEQSt3z?si=Ivt0oMj6SmitimvumYfFrQIf you want to listen to megalength playlists of all the songs we've individually picked since we started doing best of the year episodes, you can listen to Colin's here – https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5x3Vy5Jry2IxG9JNOtabRT?si=HhcVKRCtRhWCK1KucyrDdg Ian's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2H0hnxe6WX50QNQdlfRH5T?si=XmEjnRqISNqDwi30p1uLqA and Tracey's here - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2p3K0n8dKhjHb2nKBSYnKi?si=7a-cyDvSSuugdV1m5md9Nw The playlist of 20 songs from the other two hosts was scored as usual, our favourite song got 20 points, counting down incrementally to our least favourite which got 1 point. The scoring of our own list of 10 is now slightly more complicated in order to give a truer level of points to our own favourites. So rather than them only being able to score as many points as our 10th favourite in the other list, the points in our own list were distributed as follows -1st place - 20 points2nd place - 18 points3rd place – 16 points4th place – 14 points5th place – 12 points6th place – 9 points7th place – 7 points8th place – 5 points9th place – 3 points10th place -1 pointHosts - Ian Clarke, Colin Jackson-Brown & Tracey BGuest starring Helen Jackson-Brown.Playlist compiling/distributing – Helen Jackson-BrownRecorded/Edited/Mixed/Original Music by Colin Jackson-Brown for We Dig PodcastsThanks to Peter Latimer for help with the scoring system.Say hello at www.facebook.com/wedigmusicpcast or tweet us at http://twitter.com/wedigmusicpcast or look at shiny pictures on Instagram at http://instagram.com/wedigmusicpcast Part of the We Made This podcast network. https://twitter.com/wmt_network You can also find all the We Dig Music & Free With This Months Issue episodes at www.wedigpodcasts.com

YouTube Playlist for this week's episode: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWFbsNWQHisaUdql56b_TVXgs3nsKf3Dw Welcome back to another exciting episode of BM - starring Luke, Katie, Edward Brutus and our special, home-schooled guest Adam! Adam is a person in the neighborhood who lived far away for a long time. Although this is all of our first time meeting one another face-to-face, we have a lot in common as far as where we grew up and get to reminisce about Scotty's ferret and french horn. Adam had a hard time contacting our people for his appearance fees and has come prepared with pre-written advertisements to read ON AIR in order to get his payment from three (extremely popular) local businesses. He was however turned down by our own favorite, Boot Barn. Adam moved away from West Michigan to a place called La-La Land and tells us of his adventures rubbing elbows with famous celebrities like [Benji] and the monkey from [Friends]. Adam has never met Sinead O'Connor, Fairuza Balk or Christina Ricci and his offspring refuses to get them on our program. Turns out Adam quit his big fancy corporate job to press a single button for a living and got too meet some sort-of fancy celebrities out in LA. This week's BM Activity is a music list curated by Adam himself. We talk about some of our go-to songs for different feelings and/or emotions in our lives. First up is our HYPE SONG, followed by our HAMMOCK SONG. Heart rate up, heart rate down! Some of us are unsure of our picks and some of us have stories about our song. Truth is that there is no wrong answer when it comes to music. Hear some ELO, VNV Nation and Van Halen! Next up we have our SAD SONG and our ROMANCE SONG. There were some questions about the romance song, whether it should be super sexy or super lovey-dovey but it turns out it didn't really matter because there is no wrong answer when it comes to music!! We get into some Imogen Heap, Fred Astaire and even Lucero. Everyone is different and awesome in their own way and music is just one fun way to tell our own story! Email the show at bubbmush@gmail.com and follow us on Instagram @bubbmush - be sure to check out bestmiportraits.com for all of your photography needs and wants and thanks for listening to our stupid show. PS - Nathan Scrunchy decided to throw his hat in the ring for this episode and add all of his favorites as well. They are included in the YouTube Playlist! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWFbsNWQHisaUdql56b_TVXgs3nsKf3Dw

This month we're all meeting up in the year 2000 to hang out in the Millenium dome, play Timesplitters on the PS2, & try to avoid getting sued by Metallica for downloading Master Of Puppets on Napster. We'll also be talking about wind instruments fashioned from root vegetables, uttery brilliant but thoroughly depressing movies, & we speculate whether Thom Yorke was turning up at every recording studio in the world in 2000. We've each chosen our 10 favourite songs of the year and sent them over to Ian's wife Lydia, who put the playlists together and distributed them so we were each given a playlist of the 20 songs from the other two hosts, along with our own 10. We then ranked the playlists in order of preference and sent them to Colin's wife Helen, who totalled up the points and worked out the order. Helen also joined us on the episode to read out the countdown, which we found out as we recorded so all reactions are genuine. Now, admittedly, in parts we're a little bit brutal to some of the songs in the list as we're three separate people with differing music tastes, but please remember that to be in this episode at all the songs have to have been in one of our top 10's of that year. Bands featured in this episode include (In alphabetical order, no spoilers here!) - A Perfect Circle, AFI, Antony & The Johnsons, At The Drive In, Badly Drawn Boy, Belle & Sebastian, Bjork Ft. Thom Yorke, Bright Eyes, Cave In, Cinerama, The Cure, Darude, Deftones, earthtone9, Electric Wizard, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, PJ Harvey ft Thom Yorke, Isis, Merzbow, Misery Loves Co., Shellac, The Smashing Pumpkins, Snapcase, Radiohead, Sugababes, Teenage Fanclub, Ulver, VNV Nation, The White Stripes, & Yo La Tengo. The scoring of our own list of 10 is now slightly more complicated in order to give a truer level of points to our own favourites. So rather than them only being able to score as many points as our 10th favourite in the other list, the points in our own list were distributed as follows - 1st place - 20 points 2nd place - 18 points 3rd place – 16 points 4th place – 14 points 5th place – 12 points 6th place – 9 points 7th place – 7 points 8th place – 5 points 9th place – 3 points 10th place -1 point Hosts - Ian Clarke, Colin Jackson-Brown & Tracey B Guest starring Helen Jackson-Brown. I celebrated the 22nd anniversary of DJ cypher's Dark Nation Radio this past Sunday with a retrospective show featuring 1 or 2 tracks from each year of the program's existence starting with 1999. There are definitely some big hits in there, as well as a few lesser-known personal favorites. Included in the mix are KMFDM, VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Covenant, Assemblage 23, Project Pitchfork, Seabound, IAMX, Grendel, Clan of Xymox, Rotersand, Faith & the Muse, Stromkern, and Juno Reactor, among others. If you enjoy the show, please share it and follow me—and thank you so much for your support!
