[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1PlpMz6ae0] This week, after the news, we’ll cover the Universal Studios movie “The Raven” from 1935, the contemporary classic, “The Caller” from 2011, discussion of the short film, “Count to 10”, the very new movie “What The Waters Left Behind” from 2017, and our international feature “The Wailing” from 2016. Intro Welcome to Kevin and Brian’s Horror Bulletin podcast, recorded live in Bluehouse Studio. We’re changing things up a little with this, our 23rd episode. Horror news will now come regularly on our Twitter feed and Facebook page instead of in the podcast. To compensate, we’re going to expand our discussion of the movies a little more to the point that there will be spoilers. And we’re adding a new movie category. In addition to a Universal movies classic, contemporary classic, and a very new horror movie, we’ll be discussing an international horror movie. Since we’re in the United States, we’re defining international as any other country in the world. And we’ll also pick a short film to watch and discuss. That’s a grand total of FIVE reviews each week. So, this week we’ll cover the Universal Studios movie “The Raven” from 1935, the contemporary classic “The Caller” from 2011, discussion of the short film, “Count to 10”, the very new horror movie “What The Waters Left Behind” from 2017, and our international feature “The Wailing” from 2016. Now actually, “What The Waters Left Behind” is an international film too, but we’ll get it straight with our next episode. And there will be spoilers for all these films in our full discussion. If you haven’t seen them, and you want to go in blind, now’s your chance to back out because here. We. Go! Universal Studios Classic: “The Raven” (1935) A brilliant surgeon obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe saves the life of a beautiful dancer and goes mad when he can't have her. Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/2W6CM1d Contemporary Classic: “The Caller” (2011) A young divorcee is getting her life back together by moving into an apartment. Ignoring the warnings, and after a brief tour, they get stranded in the abandoned village. Contrary to what they thought, they begin to realize that they are really not alone. Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/2W3TXAf International Feature: “The Wailing” (2016) Soon after a stranger arrives in a little village, a mysterious sickness starts spreading. A policeman, drawn into the incident, is forced to solve the mystery in order to save his daughter. Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/2EyDObv Closing And that’s our show. Thanks for joining us.
