In Episode 528, tonight's guest, Cam, talked about an extremely traumatic Dogman encounter he and his best friend had while coyote hunting on his grandfather's farm. That night, Cam's heroic American Bulldog, Dallas, saved his life. Unfortunately, Dallas died in the process. Recently, Cam contacted me to let me know he'd had another encounter with that Dogman. That most recent encounter didn't go very well either. It turned out to be almost as bad of an encounter as Cam's first one was. On tonight's livestream show, Cam will be back to bring all of you up to speed on what happened when he had this most recent encounter. Also, I will explain why this encounter went even worse than you might think it did. We hope you'll tune in and listen to us do that. Premium memberships are now available! Here's another Stephen King movie for all you Body Shoppers out there. This time it's not a great one. Prime example of remembering a film better than it actually was. They can't all be winners, folks. Let us take you through Sometimes They Come Back.
For some strange reason we decided to take on the rest of the SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK franchise. Someone had to do it! They HAD to COME back… Right? We are the hero's to take on the quest and come out the other end with some jokes & some trivia that would make any horror fan happy. First Christina tells you about her viral moment online which is a fun story. Then we dive into our review of SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK AGAIN (1996) about a whole new set of Greaser Demons (well sorta) who COME BACK ... Again... For revenge! Only this time much more gory and fun. Then we take on SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK FOR MORE (1998) where it takes the story to Antarctica? Yeah... This one is all over the place and we have a lot to say about it and the franchise! SO JOIN US! This week we picked up a few Stephen King stories turned into movies to review. One of the movies will start the franchise for next weeks episode that will finish it too! We kick it off with Graveyard Shift (1990) which stars Stephen Macht & Brad Dourif in this tale of bad bosses, working late & creatures that kill. A group of workers at a textile mill are put to work in the basement and are killed off by something creepy. Then we watched and review SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK (1991) about a boy who's older brother pays the ultimate price with some greasers by a train when they were kids. Upon returning to his home town as a teacher memories and the dead start appearing to pick off his class.. Can he stop these greasers once again? Or will they take him & his family with them? We pack it full of trivia about the movie and a few of our thoughts on Stephen King & some of his movies. Even which book would be a great TV show. All in this weeks episode. JOIN US! That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Sometimes the most anticipated returns to "Saturday Night Live" just aren't good....in fact, they can be very bad. In this episode, Nick looks back at five SNL returns that range from disappointing to downright disastrous: Chevy Chase's first-time hosting was an egomaniacal nightmare that caused many issues, including a fistfight two minutes before air. Bill Murray's return to host during season 6 was a stumbling, uncomfortable mess. Lindsay Lohan's fourth time hosting in 2012 is widely considered to be one of the worst episodes in history. Chris Farley's 1997 return as host is, by far, the saddest and most painful episode of SNL ever. Even Lorne Michaels' return for season 11 was a trainwreck, and that just wasn't one episode...it was an entire season. You'll hear the behind-the-scenes stories for these returns, interview portions, and hear audio from these notorious episodes as Nick analyzes the fact that sometimes it's just better to not come back. We're back this week with a packed show of different guests, different discussions, and a handful of different stories from Stephen King's collection: NIGHT SHIFT.This week, Reed hosts Quarterly Queen Jess Fischli and Continuity Guru Steven Beckley for a very fun trip down memory lane discussing the film CAT'S EYE from 1985, which adapted two stories from Night Shift (QUITTERS, INC. & THE LEDGE) as well as featuring a third story original to the film (GENERAL). Then, Nathan hosts friends of the show Matt Ruff, Meridith Curran, and Andy Whitfield to dive into SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK, both the story and the TV Movie adaptation, including a fun game about what the next sequel in that franchise should be.This episode also features a Patron segment with Reed and Andrew Nelson for a thoughtful and vulnerable conversation about two additional stories, THE BOOGEYMAN and THE WOMAN IN THE ROOM. This is a hearty and fun collection of discussions and we hope you enjoy it!1:00 - Fear of God Corporate OfficesPatron Only Segment: THE WOMAN IN THE ROOM and THE BOOGEYMAN6:00 - CAT'S EYE (featuring discussions on QUITTERS, INC., THE LEDGE, and GENERAL)1:00:40 - Break Room1:01:45 - SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK1:35:19 - Clocking OutSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

After having a surprising amount of fun last week, the boys were actually looking forward to watching this, third sequel to the original adaptation of a Stephen King short story. Taking place in the arctic and having major The Thing vibes, Sometimes They Came Back For More had all the potential of being the same type of direct to video trashy fun that Sometimes They Come Back Again was. Did the filmmakers succeed? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they conclude their look at the Sometimes They Come Back movies with this look at the third 1998 sequel. And be sure to stay until the end, as the boys reveal their next retrospective!
When agreeing to do a Stephen King retrospective, the boys knew that there would be plenty of direct to video sequels and/or adaptations. The Night Shift Collection is notorious for a lot of them. But nothing previously started a future Oscar winner. Until now. After the first Sometimes They Came Back was shown on TV, the rights were bought and a whole new company was in charge. But now, they were going straight to the video store shelves. With Family Ties's Michael Gross, Pulp Fiction's Alexis Arquette, and the aforementioned Hilary Swank, could this be the type of hidden gem Garrett was craving for? Listen in as the boys review the 1996 follow up to the surprisingly decently reviewed Sometimes They Come Back, the very creatively titled Sometimes They Come Back…Again.
While looking at the literary resume of Stephen King, one might find some similarities. Reason being King would seem to be honing skills in short story form before embarking on bigger books later on in his career. This all pertains to Sometimes They Come Back, a story originally published in Cavalier Magazine right before Carrie was released, and then re-released in the Night Shift, the book whose film adaptations we are reviewing now. In 1985, our good buddy Dino DeLaurentiis decided that Sometimes They Come Back would work better in a full feature film as opposed to the anthology format his then in production Cat's Eye was being made. But in the time between 1986 and 1991, Dino's production company had gone into bankruptcy. However, King's name was still bankable as the films Pet Semetary and the Oscar winning Misery, as well as the 1990 tv movie adaptation It were certified successes. So why not add Tim Matheson and King veteran Brooke Adams to the Sometimes They Come Back adaptation, and bring in Friday The 13th Part VI Jason Lives director Tom McLaughlin to helm it, and then bring it to CBS tv. How did it turn out? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam to have that question answered, and be sure to come back (see what we did there?) the next couple weeks as we will review all three (yes, three) entries in the Sometimes They Come Back series.
With the exception of sadists like Garrett and Matt, no one -especially Adam- was clamoring for a remake of Maximum Overdrive. But in 1997, armed with a script from Poltergeist 3 scribe Brian Taggert, a Canadian production company took it upon themselves to do just that. But with a more serious approach to Stephen King's 16 page story, could 1997's Trucks possibly be better? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they continue their trek through the King Night Shift stories, and close the book (for now?) on another story out of that short story collection. Next week? Sometimes They Come Back.

We discuss 1991's Sometimes They Come Back.
Sometimes They Come Back is an odd little old school King story originally published before the success of Carrie that was then adapted for TV during the early '90s Stephen King adaptation boom. The story centers on a school teacher whose students start dying and are replaced by transfers who just happen to look like the long dead greaser teens who killed his brother when he was a child.
