The following information is summarised from caseydiaz.net Casey Diaz was introduced to gang culture at the age of 11. As part of an initiation into his gang, during a violent attack on a rival gang member, the leader handed Casey a screwdriver and said, “Now it's your turn”. That was the first time Casey took part in a stabbing – many more would take place for years to come. He was later sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison for second-degree murder, along with 52 counts of armed robbery. During his imprisonment, Casey became a shot caller. Shot callers have an elevated rank in the gang world; not only are they the ones who command respect, but they are power brokers inside prison walls as they determine who gets hurt or killed and who doesn't. While Casey was in prison, one day he heard the guards come by his cell with an announcement, “Church service. Any inmate wanting to go, stand by your gate.” Casey heard an older woman say, “Is there someone in that cell?” She sounded Southern and spoke with a syrupy drawl. “Yes, ma'am, but you don't want to deal with Diaz,” a guard said. “You're wasting your time.” “Well, Jesus came for him, too,” he heard her say. And what she shared with Casey would change his life forever.

Taking a non-conventional approach to interviewing candidates can help you assess them as a person and not as a job-hunting individual. “I will walk into Starbucks. Which is like two blocks away. We'll grab coffee and we'll talk.. And you know, you get to learn a lot about the people that complain about having to walk two blocks.. And sometimes that's great because you really get to see, wow, this person isn't an amazing fit.”  Having a really good support team and customer success team who’s there to take care of your customers 24/7 can really make you stand among your competitors. Closely monitoring your customer service metrics and hiring the right people to lead your customer service team are two important factors to help a business keep their customers. Casey K. Shannon is a friend of Rick Eldridge from Youth Worker On Fire - Episode 043. While Casey, a Charlotte grown, North Carolinian was managing a hotel in Scotland, Rick and his film crew stayed at that hotel while filming part of The Bobby Jones Story movie. Rick and Casey, having the Charlotte area in common, met and have remained friends for many years. Casey was influenced by people in his adolescence like the rest of us. Like some, Casey's biological father walked away from the family and it was many years before Casey reunited with him to find a changed man and a wealth of knowledge. I had the privilege of working on a project with Casey at the NRB convention for broadcasters via our mutual friend Rick. Casey is now promoting a book tour for Pastor David and Marilynn Chadwick who have been pastors at their church plant for 30 years and a congregation of over 7,000. David played basketball for UNC-Chapel Hill under Coach Dean Smith of which he wrote a book about. Casey is a large part of making this happen.
