D23 delivered some HUGE announcements for Marvel fans, and we're breaking down the biggest news, trailers, casting reveals, and theories coming out of the event! In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we dive into the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer, the latest MCU X-Men casting announcements, Doctor Doom, Incursions, Mr. Sinister, Jean Grey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Kingdom Hearts, and the premiere of DC's Lanterns! AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY TRAILER BREAKDOWN We start with the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer and everything it potentially reveals about Marvel's next massive crossover event. We discuss: • Doctor Doom's role in Avengers: Doomsday • Could Doom experience a heel turn during the movie? • Doctor Doom's potential motivations and master plan • Why Incursions may be the REAL threat • How Incursions work in Marvel Comics • Which Avengers could die in Doomsday • The movie's biggest trailer reveals • How Doomsday could set up Avengers: Secret Wars • Our theories for the future of the MCU Doctor Doom may be positioned as the movie's major antagonist, but we're theorizing that the true threat could be much bigger than any individual villain. With the Multiverse collapsing and Incursions threatening entire realities, could Doom actually become necessary to saving the MCU? And with the stakes this high, we're asking the painful question: Which Avengers aren't making it out alive? MCU X-MEN CASTING & THEORIES Next, we dive into the new X-Men casting announcements and theorize about Marvel Studios' upcoming 2028 X-Men movie. We discuss: • The new MCU X-Men cast • Which mutants could join the team • What Marvel's version of the X-Men could look like • Mr. Sinister's potential role • Could Mr. Sinister be the main villain? • Jean Grey's future in the MCU • Mutants finally becoming a major part of Marvel Studios • How the X-Men could connect to the post-Secret Wars MCU We also discuss Jean Grey's role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and how her story could directly influence the upcoming X-Men movie. Could Spider-Man actually help lay the groundwork for Marvel's mutant era? MR. SINISTER We get particularly nerdy discussing Mr. Sinister, his comic book history, obsession with mutant genetics, and why he could be an excellent villain for the MCU's first major X-Men story. After years of Magneto dominating X-Men adaptations, is it finally time for another classic mutant villain to take center stage? KINGDOM HEARTS RETURNS! We also briefly discuss the surprising announcement of a new Kingdom Hearts TV series and a new Kingdom Hearts game. What could a Kingdom Hearts television adaptation even look like? How heavily will Disney characters be involved? And are we prepared to once again pretend we understand the Kingdom Hearts timeline? LANTERNS EPISODE 1 Finally, we jump over to DC Studios for our thoughts on the first episode of Lanterns. And so far... We really like it! We discuss our first impressions, the show's characters, mystery, tone, and why we're excited to see where the series takes Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and the Green Lantern mythology. JOIN THE DISCUSSION What was the biggest D23 announcement? What is Doctor Doom's real plan? Which Avengers survive Doomsday? Who should join the MCU X-Men? Could Mr. Sinister finally get his time to shine? And what did YOU think of Lanterns Episode 1? Let us know in the comments! Jason, Rachel, and Jesh continue their Star Wars journey with The Last Jedi, aka the movie that split the fandom in half like Snoke in a red throne room. In our spoiler-filled review, we dig into why Jesh saw the movie five times in theaters, why Jason still loves Rian Johnson's take, and why Rachel is having a harder time with Luke, Poe, Snoke, Rose, and one deeply upsetting green-milk moment. We also talk about the opening bombing run, Poe's Marvel-style comedy, the “bombs in space” nitpicks, Leia using the Force in space, Holdo not telling Poe the plan, Rose Tico, Canto Bight, Kylo Ren smashing his mask, Rey and Luke on Ahch-To, the sacred Jedi texts, and the jaw-dropping Snoke throne-room scene. Hey teacher besties, we're starting this one off with a real crisis, because I just found out I might have lice after spending a week in California with my whole extended family, and I am spiraling. Somehow we end up debating whether chest hair can get lice, and we also give Gerry exactly 60 seconds to nerd out about his Marvel figure collection. Then we get into some real teacher chaos: my kids catching random spiders in high school, Molly's cockroach-on-the-mouth horror story that may or may not be a lie, and an incredibly detailed debate about whether you'd rather poop your pants in public or eat a live cockroach. We also help Molly brainstorm ideas to boost school spirit at her school, swap our worst pajama day stories, and Gerry tells us about the time he dropped it low in front of his coworkers. We close it out with a hill Molly's dying on this week, that people are boring because they don't embarrass themselves enough, so go do something new. Takeaways: Lice can apparently spread through an entire extended family within days, and adults are just as vulnerable as kids. Simple, low-cost spirit week themes, like anything-but-a-backpack day or decades day, tend to get more student participation than overly complicated ones. Pajama day can create real dress code challenges for both students and teachers. Trying something new that you know you'll be bad at is a great way to build funny stories and a growth mindset. Class or grade-level competitions, like themed dress-up days tied to a fun concept, tend to build long-term school spirit and tradition -- Knoword is an online tool for creating fun vocabulary games. We're continuing our celebration of Jack Kirby's incredible legacy with two conversations that explore very different corners of the worlds he helped create.First, we go back to the Baltimore Comic-Con's virtual 2020 convention, held during the COVID lockdown, for a discussion of Kirby's Fourth World. Writer Tom King and Cecil Castellucci join moderator Robert Meyer Burnett to talk about the ideas, characters, mythology, and lasting impact of Kirby's sprawling New Gods saga. Then we jump back to 2012 for a Marvel press conference featuring writer Kathryn Immonen and editor Lauren Sankovitch, discussing Lady Sif stepping into the spotlight as the lead of Journey Into Mystery. Sif may come from Norse mythology, but her Marvel identity was shaped in large part by the creative imagination of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and this run gave her a chance to carry a book of her own.Two generations of creators, two very different takes on Kirby's characters and concepts, all part of the continuing conversation about the King of Comics. This is Voices of Kirby, Part Three, on Word Balloon.

In this episode of The Jess Larsen Show on Innovation & Leadership, Jess sits down with Sam Bremner for a fascinating conversation on licensing, private equity, brand psychology, and the hidden business model behind some of the world's most powerful intellectual property. Sam breaks down why licensing should not be treated as a side project or simple marketing play, but as a serious engine for low-capital, high-margin growth. From Harry Potter and Marvel to Care Bears, Starbucks, branded real estate, and luxury experiences, Sam explains how the smartest companies turn intellectual property, nostalgia, identity, and emotional connection into billion-dollar businesses. Jess and Sam also explore the rise of branded real estate, why consumers pay premiums for authenticity and experience, and how companies can use licensing to expand without taking on all the risk of manufacturing, inventory, shipping, or retail execution. Sam shares how Care Bears continues to connect with audiences through love, caring, sharing, nostalgia, collaborations, and global licensing partnerships. The conversation also goes deeper into leadership, ownership, private equity, and why Sam believes the best investors and operators understand both numbers and human behavior. He explains why people are predictable, why brands operate like relationships, and why the future belongs to leaders who can recognize patterns, move fast, and connect capital with emotion. This episode is a sharp look at how licensing really works, why feelings drive purchasing decisions, and how founders, investors, and brand builders can monetize identity, authenticity, and culture in ways most businesses completely overlook. O novo elenco conseguirá substituir Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, James Marsden e companhia? It's kevin27wrld back with another absolute banger of an episode, and we have a packed lineup today. Grab your drinks, get comfortable, and let's jump straight into everything popping off in pop culture and the MCU right now.Avengers: Endgame “Encore” Trailer DropsMarvel Studios just dropped the trailer for Avengers: Endgame - Encore, hyping up tickets going on sale for its theatrical re-release on September 25th. The trailer gives us all the nostalgia—the portals opening, Cap lifting Mjolnir, Tony's ultimate sacrifice—remastered for "Infinity Vision." But the big hook here? They're teasing 4 minutes of brand-new, never-before-seen footage. Marvel is officially framing this re-release as a crucial bridge linking the Infinity Saga directly to Avengers: Doomsday. You already know we're going to be dissecting every single frame on the show!Spider-Man: Brand New Day Keeps Breaking RecordsThe web-slinger simply cannot be stopped. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just crossed a historic milestone, pulling in a wild $858.4 million at the domestic box office. That officially pushes it past Avengers: Endgame ($858.3M) to make it the #1 highest-grossing MCU film of all time domestically, and the #2 highest-grossing movie in domestic history behind The Force Awakens. Spidey is carrying the box office on his back right now, and we gotta talk about what this means for the future of the MCU.Chris Hansen is Beefing with A24?!Finally, we have to touch on the weirdest Hollywood drama of the week: Chris Hansen vs. A24 over their upcoming film Primetime, which stars Robert Pattinson and dramatizes the To Catch a Predator era.The Screening Walkout: Hansen went to an early private screening, but walked out after refusing to sign a contract that he claims forced him to sign away rights to his name, likeness, and legal standing. A24 claims it was just a standard non-disclosure agreement to stop plot leaks, but Hansen wasn't having it.The Ad Hijack: Since he wasn't allowed to see how he's being portrayed, Hansen bought up pre-show ad space on screens playing Primetime to plug his own streaming network (TruBlu), reminding audiences they're watching a "fictionalized Hollywood version" of his real life work. Petty or justified? We're breaking it all down!Hit that subscribe button, leave a review, and let me know your thoughts in the comments. Let's get into it!

"You can sing 'My Way', but don't claim you didn't know it was a Sinatra song." The vibes are still weird after that awkward interview last hour with Clark Connors. Did Greg Cote think he was too good for a professional wrestler? Did he talk down to him? Did he come out of that looking bad? He tries to get back on track today by revealing Nos. 6 and 5 on his catchphrase list, and it works to perfection because these are some heavy hitters. Plus, Trysta sets up a great video of Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr., and Zaslow may have snuffed Marvel out with the upcoming release of Avengers: Endgame Encore. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, we lost an American legend: Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80. The news was sudden and hits in a personal way. Dolly was the quintessential American: grew up dirt poor, she became a success not due to socialism or government programs, but through talent and hard work. She wasn't a political hack and had her opinions, but she loved this country and was a great patriot. There was never any hint of scandal in her private life. She had some health problems in the last years of her life and recently posted basically a goodbye to her fans. She'll be remembered along with legends like Elvis and Johnny Cash. Dolly Parton, American legend. She will be missed. Also, Social Security is in deep trouble. Founded in 1935 as government-funded retirement insurance, it's expanded massively from its original scope to more than 58 million recipients. Unlike in years past, soon there will not be enough workers to pay into the system. It's effectively broke. Social Security is meant to be funded by payroll taxes - effectively, a tax on employment. The money is supposed to be deposited into a trust fund, but that no longer exists. Today's retirees get less benefits than they paid in. And those who didn't pay into the system, like illegal aliens, get full benefits. Politicians are running Social Security into the ground like they did Medicare. Then, why are so many young people socialists? Because they don't read substantive stuff. And not these AI-generated books, but real books by real authors who did their own original research. Young people these days would rather get on TikTok and social media than read a book about America, the Constitution, the Third Reich, the Holocaust, or isolationism in the 1930s that led to Pearl Harbor. Ever see these videos where someone goes to college campuses and ask students basic questions about American civics? What does the Senate do? What is the Electoral College? What does packing the Supreme Court mean? They haven't a clue. This is why education is so important, especially early in life. We've handed education over to the government and teachers' unions, and we wonder why kids grow up loving socialism? Finally, Jeanne Allen, author of "The Education Avengers: How and Why a New Class of Heroes Is Fighting America's Biggest Battle," tells the stories of twelve remarkable individuals who, like The Avengers from the Marvel movie, fought for those who can't defend themselves: children. The Education Avengers took on the Hydra - aka the education establishment, the many-headed tangle of rules, compliance mandates, unions and apathy. These people come from different backgrounds: teachers, entrepreneurs, pastors, parents, innovators and business leaders. They're examples of what ordinary people can do when they band together and don't accept the status quo. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Marvel left D23 with a full X-Men cast, a Doomsday sizzle reel, and a VisionQuest trailer, but not one new Disney+ series. In the August 20 edition of What I'm Hearing, Puck's Julia Alexander wrote that multiple live-action Marvel series are quietly in development with announcements expected soon, which cuts directly against the last few weeks of reporting that had Marvel retreating from live-action TV entirely after VisionQuest lands October 14. Worth stressing that this is a single paywalled item with no titles, no dates, and no talent attached, and Variety, Deadline, and THR have all left it alone while the aggregators and fan sites ran wild with it, loudly, with everything from a Heroes for Hire spinoff to a Defenders reunion getting floated ahead of Marvel Television's New York Comic Con panel on October 8. While Marvel's TV plans stay stuck in rumor, DC just made one official. The Jimmy Olsen project we've been tracking for the better part of a year finally has a title, and it's The People v. Gorilla Grodd, now an eight-episode straight-to-series order at HBO Max. Jimmy Tatro is officially Grodd after months of being merely attached in reports, but the bigger get is how much of the Daily Planet came along, with Skyler Gisondo, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, and Wendell Pierce all reprising from Superman for a “true” crime docuseries reinvestigating Grodd's murder conviction. To close out our all-TV episode, here's the one DC show that actually made it to air, and it's doing numbers. Per Deadline, Lanterns pulled 9.3 million global viewers in its first three days across HBO and HBO Max, 6.6 million of them stateside, making it the biggest DC Studios premiere in HBO Max history and a top five series debut on the platform overall. That's a stronger opening than The Penguin and IT: Welcome to Derry, and the premiere has held the number one spot on HBO Max's daily top ten every day since Sunday, with Chris Mundy already sketching season two despite no official renewal yet. Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart in season 2 of HBO's Harry Potter series. Harington replaces Nicholas Hoult, who was originally cast in the role but left over scheduling issues.Spider-Man: Brand New Day continued its dominant run at the global box office and currently stands at $2.2 billion worldwide. The Odyssey opened in a few more territories and sits at $1.44 billion in its sixth weekend, while newcomer Insidious: Out of the Further opened to $60.3 million worldwide. In an interview at the For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention in London, Hayley Atwell told attendees that she was frustrated by Captain Carter's storyline in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saying “If I'm really like brutally honest, I was so disappointed with how they positioned her and what happened to her in that scene. It's so small, and she gets frisbeed to death. I tried on set to kind of go, ‘Can I just add? Can I just suggest?' And they were like, ‘Sure, but no.'”FX has ordered Legends, a meta-thriller limited series spinoff of Sons of Anarchy that reunites the majority of the original cast, including Charlie Hunnam, only this time playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The logline has the cast reuniting at a fan convention after more than a decade, where the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood faces a real-world threat more dangerous than anything from the show.NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal in an interview with EW revealed that he attempted to get cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a role but was told no. He said “I wanted to be in the ‘Avengers' and they were like, ‘Shaq, we fuckin' love you and we'd love to put you in, but if your face pops up on screen people are going to go, ‘Hey, that's Shaq!' He said it truthfully, and I was like, alright… I guess my face is too bigtime.”
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer has fans convinced there are two Doctor Dooms in this movie, and that one of them might not be Robert Downey Jr. at all. Frank and Squeaks break down the eye color, the two suits, and the Cillian Murphy voice theory, then look at what happens to Marvel when Kevin Feige's contract runs out in 2027. From there it turns into a full state of the franchises. The Feige succession list runs from Brad Winderbaum to Louis D'Esposito to one genuine wild card pick, before Star Wars gets put on the table: the Ahsoka trailer, Thrawn's return, Starfighter, and whether the Rey movie ever actually happens. Then Pirates of the Caribbean, where Disney is reportedly writing two competing scripts, and Frank pitches the real seventeenth century pirate queen whose story would beat both of them. Plus a Dungeon Crawler Carl check-in and a Question of the Week about how you would prove someone is an alien. 0:00 Intro and BlizzCon Countdown 1:34 Question of the Week: How Do You Test for an Alien 3:16 The Two Doctor Dooms Theory 11:05 Who Replaces Kevin Feige in 2027 22:36 Star Wars Without the Skywalker Name 29:33 Ahsoka, Thrawn, and the Sequel Era Gaps 34:15 Pirates of the Caribbean and Its Two Competing Scripts 46:22 Dungeon Crawler Carl Check-In Key takeaways: The two Doom theory rests on three small trailer details: the eyes reading green in one shot and closer to blue in another, two distinct suits, and a voice some fans think sounds more like Cillian Murphy than RDJ. There is precedent too, since dueling Dooms from different universes is the current main story in Marvel Rivals. Frank's argument for a recast is about longevity. RDJ's betrayal only works once as a surprise, so if Doom is meant to carry the MCU past Secret Wars, you need an actor you can keep around. The Feige succession shortlist: Brad Winderbaum brings television experience and would likely greenlight Midnight Sons immediately, Louis D'Esposito is the operations veteran who would need a creative partner like the Russos, and Frank's wild card is Iman Vellani, who is now writing comics for Marvel and Image. Both hosts want Star Wars to break from the Skywalker name completely, with Dave Filoni doing for the sequels what The Clone Wars did for the prequels. Frank also makes the case that Ahsoka, not Rey, is the real heir to the Anakin lineage. Disney has two Pirates scripts in play, one led by Margot Robbie as Red and one featuring younger versions of the original cast. Squeaks calls the Red version predictable, and Frank counters with Zheng Yi Sao, a real pirate commander the Chinese government eventually had to negotiate with instead of fight. Frank: "I'd actually respect Marvel for keeping a secret for once." Frank: "I've been hurt too many times by Kevin Feige." Squeaks: "It's time to go away from the Skywalker in total." Frank: "The true descendant to Anakin is not Rey. It's not even Luke. Frankly, it is Ahsoka." Squeaks: "That's the same thing we see everywhere. Find something new."
