Everyone needs second chances. The golf analogy is a wonderful example of what God gives us a mulligan through Christ, to get back into a life with him as our Lord. But, it doesn't stop there, Christ covers all of our needs for multiple mulligans until we are reunited with him. The powerful film about second chances stars Eric Close (American Sniper, Nashville), Pat Boone (A Cowgirl's Story, God's Not Dead 2) and Tanya Christiansen (I Still Believe, The Hate U Give). Outwardly, Paul (Close) has everything that he could possibly want. He's a successful businessman, motivational speaker and superstar on the golf course. But behind the persona, his world has fallen apart and his estrangement from his family has left him desperate to find anything to fill the void. When he gets teamed up with an old golf pro (Boone), Paul begins to realize that there is still time to set his world right…there's still time for a mulligan. Directed by Michael O. Sajbel (The Ultimate Gift, The Ride) the film reflects on the idea that having everything isn't everything and that the game of golf and the game of life have a lot in common. From taking the good shots with the bad, to knowing when to chip it and knowing when to rip it, we all look back at things we could have done differently. Co-written by Randall Eldridge, Rick Eldridge (The Ultimate Gift, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius), Roland Eldridge and Jimmy Hager the film is based on the 2016 novel “The Mulligan: A Parable of Second Chances” by Blanchard and Armstrong. The film also stars Andrew Brodeur (Tall Girl, MacGyver), Charmin Lee (Westworld, The 5th Wave) and Debra Stipe (Full House, Father Figures), with guest appearances by PGA Professional Tom Leyman and Broadcasting legend Jim Nantz. The Mulligan was produced by Scotty Curlee, Eldridge and Stephan Schultze, with Eldridge also acting as Executive Producer. The inspiration for the film came from the early life of co-author PGA touring pro Wally Armstrong, who, like Paul, was mentored by a club pro at his hometown golf course. Originally an idea for a children's book, Armstrong and Blanchard created a deep and meaningful novel that has been enjoyed by young and old, where golf is more than just a game and second chances are never out of reach. “When I read this transformational book by Ken (Blanchard) and Wally (Armstrong), I immediately identified with it. As a husband, businessman and father, it can become difficult to give each role its respective place. Sometimes we stumble and we all need ‘second chances.' Add in being a life-long lover of the game of golf, the book really hit home for me. It has been an incredible experience telling the story of The Mulligan,” says Eldridge. I was so excited to talk to Lacy Camp and her daughter Darby Camp about their acting careers! This mother daughter duo are teaming with talent. So much so, they are both starring in the new UPTV movie "When We Last Spoke." Darby plays a younger version of the character her mom plays named Juliet. "When We Last Spoke" airs April 4 on UPTV. "When We Last Spoke" is set in 1967. Two rambunctious sisters are abandoned and raised by doting grandparents and one wacky great-grandmother in the fictional southern town of Fireside. Humor, heartbreak and triumph are served with whipped cream and lots of local nuts in this heartwarming tale of family, friendship and forgiveness. Lacy has been on a ton of projects like "Vice Principals," "Outcast" and "Red Band Society." She tells me her daughter showed a natural talent for acting at a young age. And at 13, she's got a resume most adults would dream of. She starred as Reese Witherspoon's daughter in "Big Little Lies" when she was just 9. And you'll recognize her from "The Christmas Chronicles" movies and the upcoming "Clifford the Big Red Dog" movie where she plays Emily Elizabeth. I loved hearing how supportive Lacy is of Darby's career and how well they work together. Lacy and Darby Camp It was also interesting to hear the perspective of working actors that doesn't live in NYC or Los Angeles. The Camps live in North Carolina where they enjoy a quiet, non-Hollywood life (and I imagine it's also much cheaper!) We talked about how they navigate auditions, and working on set. It was very inspiring to hear that it is possible to be successful in this business without living in the two most expensive cities. Take a minute to listen to their story and don't forget to watch them in "When We Last Spoke" April 4th on UPTV! "When We Last Spoke" was filmed on location in Toccoa, Georgia. The movie was adapted from the book written by Executive Producer, Marci Henna.  It was directed by Joanne Hock ("The Ultimate Legacy," "Purple Dreams") and produced by Rick Eldridge ("The Ultimate Gift," "Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius") and Fred Miller ("For All Mankind," "Angles Sing").  The film stars Corbin Bernsen ("Major League," "L.A. Law"), Melissa Gilbert ("Little House on the Prairie"), Chandler Head ("The Glass Castle," "Fosse/Verdon"), Darby Camp, ("Big Little Lies," "The Christmas Chronicles") and Academy Award winner, Cloris Leachman ("The Last Picture Show," "Young Frankenstein").

This year has brought a dramatic rise in anti-Semitism's prevalence and brutality. The nation's largest pro-Israel organization – Christians United for Israel – brings to light this crisis in their new documentary NEVER AGAIN?, premiering in movie theaters nationwide for two nights only Oct. 13 and 15 through Fathom Events.NEVER AGAIN? is a feature-length documentary about the horrors of anti-Semitism and the power of survival and redemption. Viewers will journey with a Holocaust survivor (Irving Roth) and a formerly radicalized anti-Semite (Kasim Hafeez) into the depths of darkness shining a bright light on the world's greatest genocide and the bigotry alive still today. His life changed overnight, Irving explained. “One day I'm carrying my friends books and she said ‘I don't want you to carry my books anymore. My father told me not to be friendly with the Jew, socially it's unacceptable and it's evil. You as a Jew are responsible for everything that goes wrong in the world.' Thus begins the transformation of society on an individual basis. I haven't changed, but the world is changing around me. And thus begins the slippery slope of persecution of Jews.”As a boy, Kasim grew up in a radical Islamist household in the United Kingdom. He was taught to hate, becoming a radicalized anti-Semite with abhorrence for the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Yet, while he sympathized with violent extremists he could not shake his intellectual curiosity and his basic humanity.Kasim flew to the Holy Land in Israel to confirm his hate, but he quickly discovered the Jewish state was not inhabited by accursed, inhumane monsters. Instead, he found a multi-ethnic, multi-religious society that welcomed him on his journey to find the truth.Meeting with archeologists, historians and religious leaders throughout Israel, Kasim finds a new passion: love. On his personal journey he meets Irving Roth, a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor of Auschwitz and Buchenwald, with a personal mission to carry his story to the next generation. As Kasim and Irving's divergent paths come together, Irving's ability to forgive and Kasim's ability to change bring these two very different men to a common purpose: to stand united, to educate others, and to speak the truth.“What terrifies me is the level of apathy among ordinary people. Good people who care about their communities and causes that don't directly relate to them but want the world to become a better place,” said Kasim. “There's such great apathy when it comes to the Jewish people and Jews being attacked. I don't understand why. I'm not going to brand every person as an anti-Semite, and I also think people just don't know and that's something I can't remain silent about because it's wrong. Whether you believe in God or not, you are accountable for what you do.”“Viewers will learn about the history of anti-Semitism and come to understand why all of us, regardless of faith or political persuasion, have a responsibility to keep the promise of NEVER AGAIN?,” said Producer Rick Eldridge, CEO of ReelWorks StudiosTeaming up with leading experts and filmmakers from Dr. Deborah Lipstat to Ambassador Michael Oren to Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Christians United for Israel tells these two stories, to change the racist systems and patterns the Jewish community endures, and say “never again.”“It meets the audience where they are, engaging them in a modern and cutting-edge manner. If we're not to see history repeat itself, we must ensure the next generation learns the lessons of the past,” said CUFI co-executive director Shari Dollinger. From Director Calvin Aurand, NEVER AGAIN? is written by Rick Eldridge and Calvin Aurand and is produced by Rick Eldridge. CHARLOTTE, N.C., FEBRUARY 26, 2019 – The Trump Prophecy is the amazing story of how one man's message from God sparked a prayer movement that swept the country leading up to the 2016 election. A primary message of the film is “prayer over politics,” suggesting that the country come together in prayer for all of those who lead the country. Incredibly successful during it's limited theatrical release last fall, The Trump Prophecy will be available to a wide audience, via an limited-time exclusive agreement, in Walmart across the country starting March 5th. The film is also currently available for pre-sale on Amazon and via download on iTunes. The film's Producer, Rick Eldridge, head of Reelworks Studios based in Charlotte, N.C., has embarked on a media tour to share the story behind the film. Struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder following his retirement from firefighting, Mark Taylor received what he believed to be a message from God in 2011 while watching an interview with Donald Trump. That led to a book in 2015 based on prophecies he received, co-authored with Mary Colbert, the wife of his doctor, Dr. Don Colbert. Moved by Mark's prophecies about the intertwined relationship of America and Israel, Mary felt called to start a prayer movement that gained momentum across the country in 2016. As a coda to the movie, we hear from retired military, spiritual leaders and government insiders about the importance of the relationship between America and Israel, and how a vibrant American economy helps strengthen our allies around the world. “We knew we had a great story to tell in the film,” said Producer Rick Eldridge. “What we weren't anticipating was the far reaching impact it would have, helping so many Americans discover a renewed sense of spirituality. What I hope people will get from the film is three things -- to be inspired by Mark's story and what he experienced, to have a better sense of what we can do to support the leadership of our country, and a sense of pride as Americans that we continue to benefit from the sacrifices of those who have come before us.” Eldridge welcomes opportunities to discuss The Trump Prophecy with broadcast, print and digital media by phone, Skype or in-person interview. Making an audience laugh is not an easy task for any playwright, or for the actors indebted with bringing the author’s words to life on stage. Humor is primarily a matter of taste. Where one of might think a joke about geometry is hilarious, another prefers to watch an actor plummet headlong into a birthday cake. Expecting an entire audience to snort and guffaw at any one gag or line of dialogue is as optimistic as thinking that every patron in a restaurant will start salivating at the same single entree on the menu. Unless, of course, it’s one very special entrée. Which brings us to two brilliant-but-unconventional plays currently running in the North Bay. In Sarah Ruhl’s 2004 "The Clean House," a Brazilian comedian-turned-house cleaner, Matilde - played by Livia Demarchi - confesses in her opening monologue that cleaning houses depresses her. Unfortunately, her over-stressed employer Lane - an excellent Sylvia Burboeck - is a surgeon who likes things clean. Meanwhile, Lane’s sister Virginia - Tamar Cohn, also wonderful - just isn’t happy unless she’s cleaning something, so a secret arrangement is made between Virginia and Maitilde wherein the former sneaks in to clean cleans Lane’s house every day while Matilde lies on the couch trying to think up the perfect joke - a joke, she says, that will be “somewhere between an angel and a fart.” When Lane’s cancer surgeon husband Charles announces he’s fallen in love with a much older woman on whom he’s just performed a double mastectomy, life suddenly takes on a series of twists and turns for everyone, proving that, as tidy as we might like our lives to be, sometimes things just get messy. Directed with energy and sensitivity by JoAnne Winter, "The Clean House" is packed with surprises, and is as funny as it is genuinely, authentically moving. Jason Wells’ "The North Plan," on the other hand is both broader and darker. Directed with a taste for farce and a furious sense of wicked glee by Rick Eldridge, "The North Plan" finds humor in the disconcerting not-too-distant future, a future made possible by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s pronouncement that torture isn’t torture if it’s applied not as punishment but as interrogation. Ready to laugh? Believe it or not, I think you will. A mysterious shadow government has taken over the White House and declared martial law, and Carlton, a fugitive government employee has stolen a secret list of “government enemies.” Carlton is played by Sam Coughlin with a manic intensity reminiscent of Woody Allen, only more believable. When Carlton winds up in a rural Missouri jail awaiting the arrival of two scary government agents - John Browning and Jared Wright - he has no choice but to try and enlist the help of his jailers, the patient police chief Swenson, John Craven, and bored administrator Shonda, played by Miranda D. Lawson. When he strikes out there, he has no choice but to try and get through to his agitated, foul-mouthed fellow prisoner Tanya - played by Sharia Pierce, who is a hoot). Sharia is an unhinged local motor-mouth whose just turned herself in for drunk driving, and what happens next shouldn’t be funny, but in this cleverly crafted fable of fermenting revolution, the end of the world miraculously becomes wildly, inspiringly - and a bit frighteningly - hilarious.
