It's not the heat...it's the humidity. WRONG! It's not the heat but the cold water is what the warning was about. Getting in, staying too long, being exposed and numbness sets in. What happens when a random creative idea turns into a viral series, a thriving online community, a book, a podcast, and eventually an entire business? In this episode of Badass Basic Bitch, Brianna sits down with Christa Innis, an author, podcast host, content creator, wife, and toddler mom who has built a community around storytelling, humor, and navigating some of life's messiest moments.Christa is the author of Here Comes the Drama and host of the Here Comes the Drama podcast, where she dives into relationships, family dynamics, and the stories that remind us we're never alone in our chaos. Through her viral skits and relatable content, Christa encourages women to set boundaries, embrace authenticity, and find laughter even in the drama.Christa's journey started with a seemingly random idea for a wedding skit on TikTok. What began as a creative outlet while she was on maternity leave quickly took off, eventually becoming multiple seasons of viral content and inspiring an entirely new chapter of her career.Brianna and Christa talk about what it really takes to turn content creation into a business, grow an engaged audience, stay authentic online, and protect your personal life when your job exists on your phone. Christa also takes us behind the scenes of writing and self-publishing Here Comes the Drama, what she learned from doing it herself, and what's next as she continues writing the series. They also get into the reality of building a business while being a wife and working mom—and why success isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about knowing what matters, creating boundaries, staying consistent, and being willing to put yourself out there before you know exactly where it's going. In This Episode, We Discuss:How a spontaneous wedding skit turned into viral content and an unexpected careerStarting to create content while on maternity leaveChrista's background in social media marketing and how it influenced her approachWhy she initially kept her growing TikTok account a secretThe moment she realized content creation could become a legitimate businessGrowing an audience through consistency, authenticity, and genuine engagementBuilding a community instead of simply chasing followersWhy relatable, imperfect content can be more powerful than polished productionWhat actually happens behind the scenes of scripting, filming, editing, and posting viral contentTurning a creative outlet into a full-time businessExpanding into brand partnerships and social media coachingBalancing entrepreneurship, content creation, marriage, and motherhoodCreating boundaries when your entire business lives on your phoneProtecting family time and keeping parts of your life offlineTurning viral wedding drama into her book, Here Comes the DramaWhy Christa decided to self-publish her first bookWhat nobody tells you about writing, editing, publishing, and marketing your own bookThe importance of having multiple people review your work before publishingWhat Christa learned from self-publishing and how she's applying it to her next bookHer advice for aspiring creators, authors, and entrepreneurs who are afraid to startMemorable Quote"Don't overcomplicate it. Focus on what you're passionate about, stay authentic, and keep showing up consistently." — Christa InnisKey TakeawaysYou Don't Need to Know Where an Idea Will LeadChrista didn't start making wedding skits because she had a perfectly constructed business plan. She had an idea, followed her creativity, and gave herself permission to experiment. That one decision eventually grew into an audience, business, podcast, and book.Sometimes you don't need to know what step ten looks like. You just need to be willing to take step one.Authenticity Will Take You Further Than PerfectionYou don't need the perfect camera, elaborate production, or meticulously curated life to connect with people online. Christa's success reinforces something creators often forget: people connect with people.Relatable, authentic content gives your audience a reason to see themselves in your stories—and a reason to keep coming back.Build a Community, Not Just a FollowingGrowing on social media isn't only about posting consistently. Christa actively engages with the people consuming her content, responds to comments, listens to feedback, and makes her audience feel like they're part of the experience.Followers are a number. Community is a relationship.Your Business Needs Boundaries TooWhen your career revolves around social media, your workplace is always within reach. There is no office door to close at the end of the day.As a wife and toddler mom, Christa has had to intentionally establish boundaries between her work, content, and family life. Building something successful shouldn't require sacrificing your ability to actually be present for the life you're building it around.Writing the Book Is Only Part of Self-PublishingChrista chose to self-publish Here Comes the Drama, giving her firsthand experience with everything that happens after the manuscript is written.Editing, feedback, marketing, promotion, and getting the book in front of readers all matter. One of her biggest lessons is the importance of having multiple eyes on your work and recognizing that a great book still needs a strong strategy behind it.Stop Overcomplicating Content CreationFor anyone waiting for the right idea, equipment, strategy, or moment to start creating, Christa's advice is simple: focus on what you genuinely care about and start.Consistency matters. Authenticity matters. Connecting with your audience matters. Perfection doesn't.And when you need a break? Take one.Connect with Christa Innis

Tonio Skits joins The Danza Project for Episode 293 for one of his most personal conversations yet. Long before millions of people knew Tonio as a creator, entertainer and entrepreneur, his life was shaped by loss, survival and moments that could have completely broken him. Tonio opens up about losing his mother at just 15 years old, being forced to grow up fast, and the devastating accident that nearly ended his life. After shattering his T3 and T4 vertebrae, Tonio was airlifted to the hospital, placed on life support and says he flatlined during surgery. He was diagnosed as paraplegic, but against the odds, eventually got back on his feet and walked out of the hospital. But surviving is only part of the story. We get into how heartbreak unexpectedly helped create Tonio Skits, his rise during the Vine era, building an audience of millions, transitioning from viral content into acting and business, navigating Hollywood, fatherhood, relationships, faith, money and what success actually means after you've already been given another chance at life. This isn't just the story of how Tonio survived. It's the story of who he became afterward. "She believes in me." May be the greatest source of power I have in my life save my belief in God. When someone invests belief in you they give you a gift that is more powerful that what you can actually do and you are not inspired by what they can do but you receive power and motivation from they think you can do.Life lived is life learned. Welcome to another episode of Death Don't Do Fiction, the AIPT Movies podcast! The podcast about the enduring legacy of our favorite movies! It's June, so that means it's time for our “Junesis” series! Where we cover movies based on/revolving around video games! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and guest Gordon Jones discuss the reboot that most people watched simply because they couldn't leave the house, 2021's Mortal Kombat! Kano! Kabal! Australian sand pits! Lethal headgear! Fatal freezings! A human hoverboard! Cyber monks! Silly little cybernetic arms! Questionable birthmarks! Poor assassination follow-through! Chekhov's garden gnome! Forced explanations for special powers! A charmingly handmade graphic novel! Arm violence! A sudden, unexplained rivalry! Cool costumes despite a lack of whimsy! A cast that includes Lewis Tan as a brand new character no one really likes, Jessica McNamee, Nathan Jones, Ludi Lin, Josh Lawson stealing the show, and action movie icons Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada! An adaptation that at the very least finally brings fatalities to the big screen, while being mostly respectful to the source material and throwing in some easter eggs for the fans! In addition, the gang shares their spoiler-free thoughts on Andy Serkis's Animal Farm, They Will Kill You, 2004's The Punisher, 2025's I Know What You Did Last Summer, the first three Thor movies, The new martial arts classic The Furious, Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day, the Korean Netflix series Squid Game, and Alex talks about director and special effects legend Steve Wang's influence on the action movie genre! You can find Death Don't Do Fiction on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends! The Death Don't Do Fiction podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris and Tim Gardiner, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from two filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Twitter, Bluesky, or Letterboxd @actionharris. This episode's guest, Gordon Jones, can be found on instagram @heyitzjonesy. Tim can't be found on social media because he doesn't exist. Happy Thursday, Christmas Fanatics! And Happy Leon Day! Can you believe that, as of today, we are *officially* Halfway to Christmas 2026? We sure can't! It's all downhill from here! To celebrate the occasion, please enjoy this special bonus episode in which Julia and Anthony once again gather to discuss their favorite "Saturday Night Live" Christmas skits that didn't make their list the last time they talked to the iconic sketch show! They each picked five, which means this episode is full of tons of laughs! Additionally, the two discuss their Top Ten Christmas films that have released since the film "Elf", and surprisingly, only three films out of twenty are common to both lists! Also discussed: the news that Jim Carrey is in talks to reprise his iconic role of the Grinch in a live-action sequel to the beloved 2000 movie, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"! Trust us when we say, this is one fun, festive episode that serves as the perfect way to mark the fact we are only six months away from Christmas Day! So settle back, relax, and enjoy! And, as always, thanks for your love and support, y'all!
Iran negotiations, Keir Starmer's resignation, Jennifer Honka, and Jeremy Clarkson headline today's A.M. Update. JD Vance says talks in Switzerland accomplished four key goals: keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, building a de-confliction mechanism for the regional ceasefire, securing UN nuclear inspections, and establishing a direct communication line with Iran, while Scott Bessent confirms a 60-day licensing window for Iranian oil sales and Trump says crude is flowing at record volumes through the Strait. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announces his resignation, making him the seventh British PM in ten years, and Aaron ties the chaos directly to the country's collapsing Christian foundation, where only 6% of adults now identify as practicing Christians. A sixth suspect, Jordan W. Rinker, is publicly identified in the foiled drone and sniper plot against the UFC Freedom 250 event. A Denver Public Schools teacher named Jennifer Honka is fired after an administrative law judge finds she graded students on same-sex kissing skits in French class, and Aaron asks what kind of worldview produces an adult who thinks that's a reasonable lesson plan. Aaron closes with Jeremy Clarkson's cancer remission news and a deep dive into Clarkson's Farm, using a healthy pregnant cow killed over an inconclusive tuberculosis test as a window into Britain's broader collapse into bureaucratic self-worship.

Animalities! A lady with four arms kinda! Speedy sleeve removal! Goofy cybernetically-enhanced arms! Abundant flips! Evil eyebrows! Weird gyroscopic transport spheres! Surprise landmarks! Fun miniature FX! Cheesy designs and poorly executed CGI monsters! Excessive use of possibly one sandpit! Fun sets! Extra budget for campiness! An occasionally imposing villain! Whether it was our 200th episode celebration, Valentine's Day or japes at the expense of guests who didn't deserve it, Bankadelic's Not Ready for Prime Rate Players crashed many an episode under the pretense of providing humor to the proceedings. It's all in the spirit of “the colorful side of finance,” and on this recap we hear from Mrs. Cockney, The Funk LLM All-stars, Elmo the Gentleman Farmer and a few too many times from Johnny Da Big—including a rare Money 2020 bootleg where he explains the goombah origins of fintech. An episode not to be missed, unless you have much more valuable things to do with your time … like shampooing the rug.

Welcome to another episode of Death Don't Do Fiction, the AIPT Movies podcast! The podcast about the enduring legacy of our favorite movies! It's April, so that means it's time for our “No EscApril” series, where we celebrate the wonder of thrillers! Not quite horror, not quite action, that sweet spot in the middle where danger is afoot, and lives are still on the line! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and guest K-Tron discuss Brian De Palma's 1984 entry in the “pro-peeping tom propaganda” subgenre, Body Double! Excessive voyeurism! Open disdain for subtlety! Inept cops! A hotdog-shaped hotdog store! A bizarre and touchy acting class/therapy session! Troy McClure's weird Chemosphere house from The Simpsons! An insane Frankie Goes To Hollywood music video in the middle of the movie! Hide and seek-related trauma! A claustrophobic sardine who can't scream! A platinum blonde 80s vampire! Motion sickness-inducing bed drinking! A blatantly labeled door! Cultural insensitivity! A dizzying and confusing makeout session! A disturbing drill with a surprisingly short power cord! The Gone with the Wind of adult films! A random Nostromo hat from Alien! R-rated end credits! Rear projection and matte paintings! Great cinematography and camerawork, including several split diopter shots! An excellent musical score from Pino Donaggio! A fun cast that includes Dennis Franz, Barbara Crampton in her first role, Craig Wasson being convincingly pervy, and a fearless Melanie Griffith! All that and more in this unapologetically 80s thriller that explores the seedy underbelly of Hollywood, and may be the pinnacle of HitchSchlock! In addition, Tim recommends Sam Raimi's Send Help, K-Tron discusses the trippy 1961 film The Mask, while Alex gives his spoiler-free thoughts on Lee Cronin's The Mummy, the new Faces of Death, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and the Netflix shark thriller Thrash! You can follow K-Tron on Letterboxd @puddingtaco. Tim can't be found on social media because he doesn't exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the Death Don't Do Fiction crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com, or you can find them on Twitter or Instagram @aiptmoviespod. Theme song is “We Got it Goin On” by Cobra Man.
